"With the star ratings I wasn't expecting much. It was a relatively clean room. Found a crayon and bag of tissues under the bed. We had 1/4 roll of toilet paper. We seemed to be right under the flight path as the airplanes had kept us awake half the night and then became impossible to sleep any longer past 6am due to traffic noise. Im glad we only booked the hotel to sleep only, even though that wasn't the best sleep but I would not recommend friends to stay there and we definitely don't plan on staying there again. In saying that, the staff were friendly and the other people staying there looked happy"

"Hilo Seaside is an older yet exceptionally clean hotel, located in an excellent location for seeing the sights in and around Hilo.
Staff were all kind, efficient and always had a smile to offer.
The rooms were older, but I loved the old Hawaii feel. Our room was cleaner than 'some other' hotels we had stayed at twice the price on the other side of the island. Quietest hotel we stayed at all week for that matter.
I would recommend it to anyone for a couple days in Hilo."
