Although we just discovered this enormous piece of paradise, I'm positive many came before us. You should read reviews, investigate the BVR&S website and find out as much as possible before you decide. First, let me share a few subjects I did not discover during my inquiries. Yes, it is all the things and more that I read about in TripAdvisor and on the BVR&S website. I was informed by an employee this property is: 1. owned by the State of Georgia and 2. is managed by a private entity. ... Read more

It has been years since I have been here and I certainly waited too long to return! The first thing I must say is the staff was wonderful. They must have been trained by the likes of Ritz Carlton/Four Seasons. It was refreshing! The fireplaces were lit and it was wonderful to sit by the fire when it was cold outside. The bartenders were so nice and friendly and the food in the dining room was just great! The entire trip was enjoyable and now that we know we can get a cabin and bring our do... Read more

Brasstown is a nice state run resort. It would be very suitable for a large group retreat or meeting. The staff is friendly and the rooms are adequate. There is not a lot to do in the area with few restaurants but I have no real complaints.

Property: PROS - gorgeous grounds and beautiful scenery Lodge: PROS - Beautiful building that needs some updating to the outside; the fireplace in the lobby was WONDERFUL--my favorite part! CONS - Checked in at 10:30 a.m. and was told they would start cleaning our room as soon as the previous occupants checked out at 12 noon. We did not get called until 4:00 p.m. to tell us our room was ready. Accommodations: PROS: Room was updated and spacious; balcony was awesome CONS: Had to call ... Read more

We've lived in nearby Blue Ridge for several years, and never realized how great the big resort up in Young Harris is. Our two grown sons, their wives, and their little kids took us there for our anniversary, and we had a big 3-bedroom cottage with a great big common living room with fireplace, etc. Everyone loved it. We had room service for breakfast in our big "cottage," and then other meals at the resort restaurant -- large, elegant, with wonderful food. Maybe best of all, the three littl... Read more

5 girlfriends and I stayed here last night with the Girls' Getaway Package and had a fantastic time. Our package included our rooms, a bottle of wine for each room, a cheese plate and a massage for each lady in our party at the spa. Overall I felt it was a good value for all that we received. Our only complaint is that our visit to the spa was very rushed. 2 of us had 2:00PM appointments and 4 of us had 3PM massage appointments. Upon arriving for our 3PM massage, we were told that the hot tub/... Read more

We come to Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa several times a year. We live in Marietta, GA, just north of Atlanta, and it is a 2-hour drive. With the warm winter we have been having in January, 2017, it felt like spring in the mountains. This time, our room faced the mountains and had a gas fireplace! Lovely. We swam in the indoor pool, hot tubed, saunaed, steamed, and went horseback riding. The food is great there as well. We love the place.

My husband and I took our teenage son here for his birthday trip. Everything about the property is well maintained. The rooms are clean and up to date. The lobby is cozy and comfortable, but a little dark in the evenings if you are trying to read. We were there in the winter so they had a fire in the fireplace and my husband and I sat there and read and visited during the day and in the evenings. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast, dinner and Sunday brunch in the main dining ro... Read more

My wife and I travel here at least twice per year. I have my father in law staying here at least the same. I have brought some employees up as well and everyone equally enjoys it. Something's you must know to enjoy this place. One, it is rustic type spa resort with a mountain feel and atmosphere. Towns around it are small with some good dining but not a lot of shopping. It's s place where you do mostly resting. They do have horse back riding, nice golf, and spa. Service is different. For the mos... Read more

It was very cold when we stayed at this beautiful resort. They had fires going in the public places. School was out, so there were a lot of children around. Ate lunch at the grill and dinner in the mail restaurant. Food was above average, and service good. A very pleasant stay-wish we could have walked the grounds, but it was wet and cold.
