I stayed here for in November 2015. I've been trying to write a review on the IHG website, when whenever I put in my confirmation number - it won't allow me to write a review! (I did complain - perhaps that is why). So, first off, I arrived and checked in. I was not recognized as a Spire member...let alone any type of member of IHG Rewards. I also was never given the choice of a gift or amenity points. And never received any amenity points from this stay. When I got to my room, it was one of th... Read more

The service was very good. I was very pleased with the young lady at the front desk and Robert, who took care of the breakfast, was fantastic!. Our who stay was above average. When to TV in our room wasn't working properly, we were given another room in which the TV did work properly. Not only did Robert do a fantastic job serving our breakfast, the food was very good .

This property provides a fairly good experience every time that we stay at this hotel. Robert, the breakfast attendant is always wonderful and makes sure that the food is ready, fresh, and hot. We stay at this location about 2-3 times per year and he is always courteous and makes breakfast a fun and enjoyable part of our stay.

I am a "Breakfast Junky," I have gone to many other hotels, but the Breakfast here was fantastic......and the reason it was is a gentleman named Robert. Robert worked the breakfast area, not only was he the most courteous and friendliest person on earth, he catered to each and every individual in the place. This guy Robert should run for president!!!!

Hotel is ideally suited for a visit to Stone Mountain. Not only that when I saw how close it was to Atlanta international airport ( about 40 mins drive away but not in the rush hour ) would have booked a further night here instead of an airport hotel. To late to change. Staff were very good and our room on the 3rd floor overlooked the swimming pool. It was very cool with an effective air con system. Plenty of places to sit around the pool and keep cool. Breakfast was very good

This was a 2 day stay and here are my observations: The internet here does not qualify as 'high speed'. It's painfully slow. I worked from the hotel during the day and had to use my own hot spot to get things done. The TV placement in my king bedroom leaves much to be desired. The TV needs to be higher. It's on a low piece of furniture which means it can't be seen while lying in bed. What a bummer! Breakfast is ok. Consists of hot scrambled eggs, make your own instant oatmeal, and a pancake ... I had a coupon and it plainly said Fri-Sat $99 a night for 2016 June-August. They wouldn't honor the coupon because they said they don't honor those during Summer months. There were two people there that was nice but the manager didn't care. I emailed the Area Manager and she didn't help as well. I will not use Holiday Inn Express again. They do not believe Customers come first. They claim they upgraded my room to a deluxe room but the couch bed you could feel the springs in the mattress. ... Read more

I selected this hotel based upon reputation and posted rates. This was only to be an overnight layover on a roadtrip my wife and I were taking. We were running a bit late, so I telephoned the front desk to let them know we were on our way and should be arriving between 9-9:30pm. They didn't seem to care; it was almost that I had annoyed him by calling! I started second guessing myself and was afraid of where I had booked us for the night. We enjoyed our stay here very much. Front desk staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and updated, pool is clean and clear, and breakfast was plentiful! Only thing I could add would be maybe have beds made with spread or comforters; we needed to get 2 before we went to bed. But that's just our preference when we sleep. Would highly recommend this location!

When I'm staying in an urban area, I'm a bit hyper-vigilant. When you are not from the area, you can easily naively either stay in a crappy hotel or an unsafe area (recently did that and stayed in a horrible hotel in the Detroit area because I did not read reviews carefully enough prior to booking it. This particular Holiday Inn Express was a little disappointing compared to my last stay at a HIE which was in Chattanooga. I guess the size and appearance of the room just wasn't what I expected. It was easy to tell this was a much older hotel. However, they did offer a complimentary breakfast which is something the Chattanooga one didn't have. Hotel is tucked away in a quiet spot, but still close to everything. Great staff, rooms and facilities clean and well kept. Only complaint I can find is the lack of TV channels, has one of the smallest and cheapest package I've seen for a higher brand hotel. Now as with all hotels, I've stayed here a few times over the past couple months and the only re occurring issue is the inconsiderate other guest who love to slam doors and run there months in the hallways.
