We chose this Mariott as a place to stay for a combo week of birthday, anniversary, and spring break. At time of booking, it was NEVER mentioned about being remodeled! A tiny table and folding chair with a very young girl greeted us. She offered NO apology but assured us our room was already remodeled. LIE! IT A DISGUSTING! The phone in the room didn't work to call for toilet paper. The swimming pool was drained! Not one single time that we complained, did we ever get an apology! NEVE... Read more

I read that they were under renovation but didn't really expect the front desk to be a table with a whole rack of computer mess sitting beside it. The room it itself was fine but felt unfinished. Must be a new design. Definitely a noisier clientele then I am used to. Was a reasonable drive to the riverfront. Next trip I will most likely spend the extra money for a hotel on the river and save the driving and search for parking.

Full disclosure this hotel was in the middle of being renovated. With that said you still expect your room to be clean. This is the first time I have ever felt that a room at a Marriott property had not been cleaned. After getting in the room we had to walk back down to the front desk for toilet tissue (how can a room not have any when you just check in?). In addition the sheets had hair and stains on them. Not what you expect for Marriott.

They are remodeling these rooms with a ugly purple color on the room walls. Sure does not look like Marriott standards plus place just does not seem as clean as most Springhill Suites I probably will not stay here on next trip to Savannah Also was training new person on check in desk

Don't stay here! The place is under construction which they don't tell you about when making a reservation. And the Manager is horrible to work with! There are many more choices in the Savannah area for what you would pay at this hotel.

Despite the renovations, this was a GREAT hotel stay. The location was perfect to everything j needed to get to and the beach was only 30 mins away! Check was a breeze, the attendant (new girl) was awesome. Room was updated, clean & comfortable. Breakfast was just right, will be staying here again!

The only thing I can say positive about this hotel is the coffee tasted decent. And thank god for that because the night was horrendous. Yes, they are renovating, but they probably need to shut down until they get their stuff together. Upon check in another guest was standing at the makeshift table in front lobby serving as a front desk because they had no sheets for sofa bed, no trash can and no remote for t.v. They could only give us one key because were short on keys. Our room looked hal... Read more

Not enough staff for check in,dusty furniture in the rooms, plumbing issues, nasty breakfast, bad ghetto kids making a lot of noise waking my kids.....will not be returning....only chose this hotel due to a state employee rate

Amazing staff!! The entire experience was top notch but the staff really went above and beyond. The hotel itself is designed to make you feel at home. Which it completely succeeds in doing. The room was perfect. Plenty of space to work or just relax after a long day. The bed was a problem because I didn't want to get out of it. Overall, one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Highly recommended!!

"Renovations are complete, except for the front desk reception area," was what I was told by the courteous receptionist when I checked in for a 2-night weekend stay. Really!!?? Check-in was manual since the computer was down (for the ENTIRE stay), which meant no WiFi (for the ENTIRE stay) and when I say manual, I mean having your name checked off a list and nothing more. The pool was off limits per the county inspection. The room was clean, the bed and bedding very comfortable, and the carp... Read more

A group of 6 of us showed up on a reservation on a Friday night luckily for one night only as they are undergoing reservations, and have been for a year. Uhhuh! And, for disclosure, I am a Marriott reward member...lots of points. And, normally I enjoy their properties........however..... So we walk in, after seeing a normal hotel exterior (not great but not a it seemed at the time). Boxes covered the lobby floor....if you can call it a lobby. There was no front desk. Only a small desk ... Read more

The hotel was nice. The room was much larger than expected with a little desk area so you could work if you wanted to. There was a mini fridge , couch, 2 flat screen tvs, & 2 of the most amazing beds I have ever slept in. After a long day of traveling and another of sightseeing it was great to have these comfortable beds to sleep in. The thing that makes this hotel really stand apart from the rest was the hospitality. The front desk staff, cleaning team, & management were friendly and went above... Read more

Love the Marriott brand. The beds are always super comfy. SpringHill Suites Savannah Midtown was no exception. I slept like a baby! Another thing I really liked about the hotel was its super friendly management and staff. The GM was always moving around to ensure her hotel ran smoothly. The location was awesome. The hotel was minutes from Historic Riverstreet in Savannah. I had the best crab legs in this charming historic district. The hotel is being renovated and I look forward to seeing the fi... Read more

Brian was the greatest front desk worker I ever saw. He handled the little card table that they had set up like a real pro. I kept asking if he was the Manager because while everyone acted like they did not care. I found my self asking, wow! someone cares. The Hotel sold out of Double Beds and Brian found us a Room. Brian called and secured a confirmation number, and Brian sent us to the other hotel with some sort of paper that was just as good as cash at the other Hotel. What could have been a ... Read more

The hotel is being remodel but the work was quite. The rooms where not very large but it was comfortable. Our room had somethings that was not working and the breakfast was good and filling. The General Manager (Stephanie Eckert) wanted too make sure our stay would not be our last by reducing our bill because some of the things was not working. Our breakfast was good because Sophia Haskin, kept the food very well stocked and the area cleaned. We needed some item in the room that needed some att... Read more

As a track & field family, we stay at a number of Marriott hotels over the summer. By far, this one was not up to Marriot standards. The hotel checked in guests manually (card system), under construction, swimming pool closed by dept of health, no wifi. With no understanding of when it would be resolved. Just when I thought it couldnt get any worse, the toilet overflowed on our first night. So we called downstairs and were basically instructed to come get the plunger and fix it ourselves. I a... Hotel is great location for sightseeing. Room was well equipped. And decor very good. Only downside was breakfast in morning, basically a bit of a free for all as is self. Service and geared for American visitors not a lot of choice and seating very sparse !! Plus side savanna is a lovely place to visit.

The Readers' Digest version: An ok one night stay for our family, starting the drive back from Disney to Wisconsin. The detailed version: This will seem very nit-picky, if you are a business traveller, or at least travelling without kids. I write this from the perspective of a parents looking to have a smooth, comfortable road trip with our four kiddos, ages 17 down to 5. We arrived in the evening, around 8 or so, and found the lobby quite modern and attractive. Our room was clean in appearan... Read more

My mother and I stayed at this hotel. We were scheduled to stay for three days but after one night we had to move to another location. The electrify kept blinking off and on, there were two TV located right next to each other and the same brand so watching tv was quite interesting and then the one TV closest to us kept blinking the next morning and we were not able to watch it. There were some undesireables in the bed, no furniture to keep your things so we had to live out of our suitcases. ... Read more

First off I am a local and due to TS Hermine, we were without power and had been for almost two days. In the grand scheme of things that's not to long. But, my husband has health issues requiring oxygen. On the second day I knew he couldn't go another night without sleep, so I drove instead of calling to the Hotel an was greeted by Brian, who I give very high praise to; I first asked if he had any handicap rooms, (as my husband is also in a wheelchair) he told me yes so I made my reservation a... Recently stayed here for a couple of nights, and was genuinely impressed with how pleasant my stay was! I had a king suite that was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed (coffee maker, fridge, comfortable bed). The breakfast options were tasty and upscale compared to most continental options as well. It was in close proximity to both downtown Savannah and Tybee Island, so an uber ride was brief and inexpensive. The staff was very welcoming and polite. I would recommend staying here 100%!

Upon check-in we found the bed sheets and pillow cases were stained and didn't appear to have been changed from the last guest. The glass on the shower doors were filthy, the towel bar fell out of the wall and the bathroom sliding door didn't close all the way. There were smears on the inside of the bathroom door, I don't even want to think about what they were. We were late for a dinner reservation so waited until our return to talk to the front desk. We couldn't seem to communicate to h... Read more

Stayed at this hotel on 9/30/16. Hotel had just completed renovations, looked very nice, we stated on the second floor. The shower head leaked water, spraying water into the room and on the dry towels. The tub would begin to fill with water up to about six inches before your shower was done. We dealt with these issues because of the late hour they were discovered, leftva note for house keeping. Unacceptable was the children running in the hall on the third floor for a few hours. Also, the ... Read more

The staff was rude. They were badmouthing a customer in front of me while I was standing at the front desk. The room was moist. The carpet was damp. The bar was nice. Except there was an advertised "happy hour" and I was still charged full price.

From the super-friendly staff to the wonderful room, I had an all-around great stay at the SpringHill Suites Midtown. The bed is quite possibly the most comfortable one I have ever slept in. The room was super comfortable, with a small kitchenette, separate work area, spacious seating and a large bathroom. I frequently travel alone and felt very comfortable here. The bed was so comfy I slept through the complimentary breakfast, but there are tons of places to eat close by, including a big grocer... Read more

Well we came to stay at this hotel for our anniversary and looked at photos online to see there was a hot tub. We were so excited, but then when we got here, we realized they just renovated and there was no longer a hot tub and the pictures have not yet been update. The rest of the hotel was excellent, nice workout center and nice pool. The breakfast was great, but what really made our stay was the staff.
