The check in process was my first clue. The clerk seemed upset about something and was a bit dismissive. The rooms were OK but most of our night was spent listening to the trains pass by, something in the room making a clicking noise and a green light flash on an off on the wall. There was no breakfast and it was more expensive than nearby locations that were "sold out for the night". Remember the old Benny Hill show that had several trains going in and out of tunnels. Stay a night here and ... Read more

After reading other reviews we made sure that we got a room at the front. However if you are a super light sleeper you will still hear the trains. I can't imagine what it was like on the railway side. No complaints about the room other than shoddy workmanship which is evident everywhere you look. Paint, trim, etc. it was very clean. Nicole on the front desk was extremely pleasant. What lets this hotel down is that it was supposed to be a full service hotel, we were hoping to not have to go out ... Read more

I don't like giving totally negative reviews but the train is a hugh issue. The train tracks are literally 100' from the hotel and of course we had a room facing them. They didn't blow their horn but the sound was still very loud. The clerk when we checked in was frazzled from all the people in the lobby that had clearly had too much to drink. We checked in with a family of four and room had 2 towels you would think she would have given us towels on check-in if 2 is the standard in each room.... Read more

Super awesome friendly people. Clean hotel, nice smaller lounge and restaurant area. Nothing anyone can do about the train situation and actually not too bad for me even though I was on the back side that appears to be louder. Apparently there was a small child close by that seemed to think a cartoon train character was coming by every so often. Comfy room and overall good value on the North side of Macon, so if you are headed to the Atlanta area, this is a better side of town. Easy access t... Read more

An unfortunate event with my family, was made much easier, and pleasant by the hospitality of this Holiday Inn North Macon. A sudden visit for support of my fathers unplanned surgery and subsequent passing, was put at ease by the staff and management here. I needed several rooms for family members, and they had no problems setting up short term lodging. They were kind, caring, and very accommodating, even places us all together on the same floor, a perfect touch. The bar, restaurant, and pool, w... Read more

Employees were not friendly throughout our stay, but nothing that was a big deal. Then, I realized I left my iPad in the room a couple of hours after we checked out. My husband and I called, telling them where exactly it was in the room, and the front desk told me they could not check with housekeeping to see if they found it until the next morning, and then they would call us back the next morning. They never did. We called late that afternoon and were told housekeeping claimed they did not h... Read more

I stayed at this holiday inn for one night. The facilities were nice, and I felt very safe. I requested a high floor and a room away from the elevator, I was on the top floor in a corner room. Great job accommodating my requests. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly when I checked in. Fast forward to my actual room- there was residue in the toilet (as in it had not been cleaned) and hair on the toilet seat! Gross! But, not a deal breaker as these things happen sometimes. I used th... Read more

Never have I stayed in a hotel that was managed so poorly. Upon arrival we found our beds (in 3 different rooms) to be dirty - hair in the bed. We let the staff know. They changed the sheets in just one room. We expected some sort of compensation or attempt to make things right. The manager refused and upon calling him personally to discuss he was incredibly rude and disrespectful to both my husband and another friend we are traveling with. It was the most unprofessional experience from a hotel ... Read more

We were travelling as a family from Atlanta to Orlando after arriving in Atlanta from Manchester in the UK. Great location near the freeway, modern hotel, friendly staff, restaurants nearby. Breakfast in the morning was great where nothing seemed to much trouble. Good advert of Holiday Inn and the IHG group.

2 July 2016 This has been my experience with the Holiday Inn Macon North, Macon Georgia, at 3953 River Place Drive. We checked in around 3:10 P.M., on 1 July 2016, our initial room assigned happen to be room 527. We entered this room and started checking the room, we found a dead bug on the floor, the bathroom toilet seat has seat material/paint chipped off. The floor has bubble gum stuck near the left side of the bed. These floors in this particular hotel has brown laminated hardwood floo... Read more

We checked into this Holiday Inn for one night. Very poor hospitality !! We had finished a two week vacation in Florida and stopped for one night in route home. We were exhausted !! We arrived at approx 6 pm. I had ACL / meniscus surgery a month ago so my first priority was getting ice on my knee (for the swelling and aching) and getting it elevated. My husband wanted to take a shower, lay down, watch TV and relax. We entered our muggy, stuffy, hot room to discover food on the floor in 3 ... Read more

The facility and amenities are fantastic and are kept clean. The front desk staff could use some hospitality training, unfortunately. But I could find nothing but good things to say about this place beyond the front desk. The pool, fitness center, restaurant and bar were all in excellent shape and all staff we encountered in those places was exceptional. I choose ihg hotels over most others but front desk experience here made me reconsider for this location.

Great hotel, very quite and clean. Breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. This is going to be our layover hotel when traveling to Florida. Highly recommend this hotel. Very reasonably priced for such nice accommodations.

I checked into the Holiday Inn in the early morning hours (1:30AM) to get a couple hours of sleep before needing to depart again around 7:00AM. Based on my previous experiences with other Holiday Inns, I felt this would be a positive experience. While I was checking in, I was told the only room available was with 1 twin bed ?? which I really didn??t care because I just needed a few hours of decent sleep. I was the only one checking in, but it took the clerk over 15 minutes to get me my info... Read more

Went to check in at 4:05pm, waited in line, hearing that rooms weren't ready for the conference goers. The CSR was rude and less than helpful. When it was my turn I was told my room wasn't ready, when I pointed out that check in was at 4, and I had requested early check in, I was told that it was too bad that our room was not ready, to give her my cell phone number and I would be texted, when asked how long it would be, it could be an hour or more she said. At 4:54 I received the text that our... Read more

The property was well lit and I liked that you needed a valid room keep to go up the elevator. The rooms were very nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The morning breakfast in the restaurant was delicious.

Each year I stay here for work. It's not bad, but it's not good. It's just okay. The staff is nice and the rooms are spacious. They are moderately clean. I had to move from my first one because the shower was dirty when I checked in. They moved me to a much nicer room, and it made my stay much, much better. My housekeeper appreciated the tips I left him/her and made sure to clean the bathroom a little extra. There aren't many options in Macon. This is probably one of the better ones.

Not a good stay! Freight trains run all night behind the hotel, stained bedding, stained chairs, water all over the floor when you shower, not enough beds for us had to sleep three to a bed, washer broke with our clothes in it and to top it off large roaches in our room. Never again! Stay away!!

I stayed here with my family as a halfway point on a drive to our vacation destination and reserved the room through Priceline. We arrived later in the evening and the desk clerk was so sour I had to greet her instead of her greeting me. I was very obviously traveling with two children, yet she still originally gave us a room with one bed. I went to ask if there were any rooms with two beds, and she assigned us a room with two queens across the hall. Kudos for fixing the problem, but I would... Read more

Stayed for one night while passing through. The ottoman and comforter were heavily stained and the bathroom and floors didn't look their best. The room has some kind of laminate flooring meant to look like hardwoods, they were bubbling and separating from the subfloor. We would have requested to move rooms had the hotel not been full. The worst part was that the smoke detector had TWO flashing lights on it that flashed every 5 seconds and the refrigerator made a tapping noise more than once per ... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel but the room was a different story. There was no basket for the coffee maker so no in room coffee. The floor was dirty as I walked from shower to stool to put on my socks and the bottom of my feet had lint and hair all over them. There was change and a previous occupant's key card left on a night stand. I reported this to the morning desk clerk and was very apologetic and said they had a whole new cleaning crew. We were so happy to find this place after checking out of the horrid la Quinta. This hotel is nonsmoking, does not allow pets, and is clean. The receptionist was more than happy to let me see a room before purchasing. The bathroom was really clean and all the cabinetry is updated and granite is in the bathroom. The floors are laminate and my daughter's feet were dirty after walking around barefoot so that's my only complaint.
