Recently stayed at this lovely little hotel. Very close to the Marta station which took us directly to and from the Airport for $3.5 each way. Micheal the bell boy was so enthusiastic and told us plenty of interesting information about the area. Happy hour was an added bonus - glass of wine $1 plus nibbles - what's not to like!!

From the moment I arrived at the front door I was treated with high class. I found the hotel staff to be very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, professional and happy to work at there job. We stayed 2 nights for my daughter to attend an audition. The night we checked in the front desk clerk (I can't remember her name) was genuinely friendly. My husband joked with her as we checked in and she played right along! The valet was super nice and offered us some suggestions for supper and gave us directions to "not go that way" to keep us safe! Our AC wasn't working efficiently in our room, so they moved us to another (larger) room. The next morning on the way to her audition, Shada... Read more

Hotel location is great. Looks of the hotel great. Check-in great. Staff was great. The room was good awesome view from the 15th floor. My complaints would be the pillows are rolled up pieces of fiber foam, not even a real pillow. The bathroom had hair all over the floor and in the shower. Walls are thin I heard the tv all night from the room next to us except when the air conditioner came on because it was so loud. The bed was ok. Liked the security of the hotel. The hotel itself isn't bad, but the service totally ruined it. I liked the room and the value was certainly there, but... Check-in was OK, the front desk person was not friendly but certainly not bad. It was checkout. There was a problem with the TV in our room and it has charged us for movies that we didn't watch. We looked at the history on the bill and the movies were watched at times that we were in the hotel bar and not in the room. I literally pulled out the receipt for the hotel bar... Read more

For a historic hotel in downtown Atlanta the Ellis is a great choice. The inside is updated and although the rooms are a bit small by modern standards (remember this is an older structure) they are nicely appointed with modern furnishings and fixtures. I love the idea that they have put effort into being a green hotel (how about installing power cut-offs by the doors as in most European hotels) and one whole floor is allergy free. Another floor is pet friendly. The best thing is the staff. S... Read more

We visited Atlanta for our niece's wedding. We took 6 rooms for a two night stay. Easy to take MARTA Railway from the airport. The rooms were clean and updated, although there are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms thus the shower gets a little steamy. The bed was comfortable, but the staff was great. Helpful with suggestions and accommodating. It was apparent that they take pride in their work. How refreshing.

We have started our US holiday with a few days in Atlanta, plenty to see and baking hot. The Ellis is centrally located and close to the MARTA train station from the airport, again always worth using the train, 18 mins and $2.50 each. We did not get served by the bartender, unless you call me begging for drinks service, our wait time on the food was over a hour and a half -for shrimp, flatbread and Mac&cheese.
