"It would have been nice had the hotel advised that they were hosting several parties on the first night that we arrived (9-1-12). We were unable to access the pool on that first night b/c of the pool party. Which as a 'paying customer' the hotel has no right to tell me I can't use the pool b/c of a party, and I am pretty sure that there were people at the pool party that were not even staying at the hotel!! The place was so croweded that we had to wait for 15 min. for an elevator, then decided to bump that and climb 5 flights of steps to try to get to on a elevator, which worked, but one of the guest in our party has bad back problems and was almost unable to make it. THEN, we had booked 4 guest, but the housekeepers only left 3 towels and washclothes. Had to call downstairs 4 times to get extras. Then the next day when roomservice cleaned the room, AGAIN only left 3 towels and washclothes. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again!! Oh, then I was told at the front desk at check-in that they had upgraded our room, but we had the exact room we paid for. I don't like to be lied to!!"

"THE HOTEL WAS NOT WAHT I THOUHT IT WOULD BE VALET WAY TO HIGH DAILY AND THE ROOMS OMG WHERE NOT WHAT I EXPECTED THE TUB WAS DIRTY SHOWER CURTIN STAINED THE WATER DIDN'T DRAIN LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TOO. "I was upset with my stay. My bathroom was dirty when I arrived my shampoo and conditioner were opened already. I was told I was getting an upgrade and I was put up further in the SAME type room with NO view which I did already have. The main reason staying there was for a view and when I was told that I was gettn an upgrade I was told it was to a skyline view room. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! upon checking out the lady seemed to not care one bit. BUT as I was leaving I did ask housekeeper for a shampoo and conditioner and she gave me one with yet another seal broken and got all over me! the bathrrom in the lobby had been vomited in all over the floor and was not cleaned up BUT had a wet sign sittn up against the wall.....JUST NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!!"

"Was not aware that there was a 28.00 per car per night charge for parking. paid a deluxe room, with no micro wave oven and no frig??? room was smelly from cigarette smoke. my brother's room was infested with ants and was relocated after several complaiots. management was slow to respond to guest concerns. swimimng pool area was filthy with off duty staff congregating. Pool furniture was dirty and stained. had to request towles, no pool personnel. staff 'nickled and dimed' guest to death. not a pleasant experience overall"

"I went to Atlanta for 2 days and the outside of the hotel is not very nice at all. Now I see why there isn't a photo on their website. The lobby and lounge area is just as nice as the photo's. The rooms don't look like they have been rennovated though, which made me believe it might have only been the lobby, lounge and restaurants. We were on the 22nd floor and our view was fantastic! The Skyline rooms are worth the extra fees because of that. Overall it was a great trip. No problems with anything. Staff was very helpful and friendly."

"The location was ideal for anyone wanting to utilize Marta public transportation. Which I did. I did not want to rent a vehicle. The price point was good for the location. it was obvious no one had stayed in my room in quite some time it was a little dusty not dirty just dust. It turned out to be a memorable stay. I went out on the the balcony of my room to take in the veiw and the door locked behind me I was eighteen stories up and locked out of my room no cell phone etc etc. I was able to wiggle my way back in the room and immediately contacted engineering. It is pretty funny now and a great story. Initially it was pretty frightening. Quite honestly I do not know if I would stay at this hotel again"

"It was not as I expected. My pillow didn't smell fresh. My room was supposed to have refrigerator, it didn't, a free breakst... no, unless I can show them that my room came with free breakfast. The ad didn't say in certain rooms only.
It was conveniently located. The staff were friendly and courteous.
The rate that was printed in my receipt was less than I paid."

"This is an awesome hotel for a great deal. There is a parking garage that connects to the hotel for only $15.00 a day. The hot breakfast is amazing with omelettes made to order. We loved the roof top pool. The staff would bring water, towels, magazines to us. The manager on duty spent lots of his time giving local restaurant recommendations and touring advice. He was great! Yes, the rooms have older TVs which work just fine. If you are going to watch TV on your vacation, then go somewhere else. We met several people at the pool who were repeat customers. Few of the downtown hotels have such a nice pool with a skyline view. Recognize a great value and book this place!"

"I only stayed one night at the hotel but I would not stay again. When we first arrived, the valet gave us directions from the front loby to the parking deck. Since we were down town and had to deal with all of the traffic and one way streets, it took us 20 minutes just to circle the block and get to the deck. I later found out there was a much easier way to the deck that would have taken less than five minutes. Check-in was a nightmare. We had to wait in line for nearly fifteen minutes. Once I arrived, although my room had been paid for in full, the concierge asked for a $50 deposit in case I ordered room service. Almost every other hotel I've stayed at has made any charges payable at the end of the stay. I had a free breakfast for two with my stay and while I was eating, our 'server' said they did not have a confirmation of my free breakfast and asked that I search for my confirmation print out. I had to leave breakfast to go back to the room to find my confirmation page and while I was gone, the server dropped the check off to my guest. (I thought this was very rude). Once I straightened everything out with the front desk, I notified the server. She insisted the bill would be taken care of but to remember that gratuity was not included. Overall, things were handled very poorly and the staff was rude. I would not stay here again."

"Don't stay here! The hotel is old and run down. The pictures do not accurately reflect the accommodations. Carpet and walls were dirty, tub was rusted, furnishings were worn and outdated, mattress was lumpy. Maybe if the hotel marketed itself on par with motels and dropped the price A LOT it would be worth it. But this is in no way a 3-4 star hotel. Also, each balcony adjoins to the balcony next to you, so if you didn't lock the door (or if your door wasn't rusted shut like ours was...) then someone could easily break into your room. Be careful!"

"I was so excited about staying at the Meila Atlanta. After looking over the website at the breath taking views I was sold. I booked the hotel for my birthday celebration. They offer a rooftop pool and lounge area and a patio off of your room that I was super excited about. I specifically asked for a room with a city view. I told therep that is what I wanted. He made a note of it and I thought everything was taken care of. I even called the day before to ensure the hotel had received my request and I was assured that had the request and would be taking very good care of me. Fast forward to check in....Everything was smooth got to the room opened the window and I had city view but, it was of a restaurant and an empty stadium. Wrong side of the hotel and they were not able to accommodate a room change ugh!! Strike 1.. I then said I would suck it up and enjoy myself so, I went to open the patio door and guess what the access has been restricted. Strike 2... now I'm really angry because it clearly states on their website that they have patios and for people who smoke this is a great amenity and one major reason I selected this hotel. Well no access... I started to look around the room and understand what I was paying $100 dollars a night for??? The room was very basic and over priced in my opinion. I was hungry and I had some soup I wanted to warm up well low and behold no refrigerator or microwave in the room or anywhere?? HUH??? Maybe in my haste to make the reservation I missed the fact that they didn't offer that. Ok so now I'm in my car (which took 15 minutes to reach me after paying a $30 valet charge per night. The wait was completely unacceptable because there were no other people trying to park or retrieve their vehicles so what the heck was taking so long?) I had to drive to the gas station to warm my food and hot foot it back to my room so I could enjoy my food while it was hot. After all that I just wanted to take a shower and go to bed. Upon getting in bed I realized that mattress was lumpier than half cooked grits. I layed down at the top and the bottom of the bed rose up. I was too done at that point. It was too late for me to leave because I had already paid for the night and was told I would not be refunded if I left that evening. Early the next morning I was fed up and decided to depart a day early. I went about five miles up the highway and found a Red Roof Inn that was way better and half the price! I didn't have a city view but, that's ok (I didn't have one at the hotel I had just left either) it had every other thing I wanted and more. Melia Atlanta sucks and I will NEVER return not even to enjoy the rooftop pool and lounge that was closed after I was assured it would be open. Horrible experience, bad over priced hotel, and slow service in the valet area. Ten thumbs down!! Don't waste your time or money because that place looks nothing like what the website portray's."

"I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Normally, I would never say to not stay somewhere, but I tried to get my problem resolved with this hotel numerous times with no response. My friends and I arrived in Atlanta for one night at the Melia at 3:00 p.m. (check-in time) only to arrive in our room at 7:00 p.m. We were constantly given the runaround about not enough staff and our room would be ready in 1 hour. After finally refusing to leave the front desk until my room was ready, I was given a room after another 30 minutes. We were to attend a show that night at 7:30, so we had time to unload, change and barely run to our event. After returning late that night, our bathroom had not been cleaned properly and our toiletries were already used. We received new ones around 12:45 a.m. Needless to say, I will not return to this hotel especially for the high price and poor management."

"What a wonderful place to feel like you home away from home, the staff was great, they tried to accomodate our every need even though the hotel was full. Every employee gave us their undivided attention and even showed us around the city on their time off, the room were very neat and clean and the common areas were clean and quiet, i cant wait to plan my next trip to atlanta, trust me i will not be staying anywhere else."
