I went to visit my daughter in UGA and my son stayed with me. After a mishap during checking in, it went quite well. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the morning breakfast was great. and the room very comfortable.

Very comfortable and sparkling renovation so it all looks new. Great morning breakfast bar included with the room rate. All though the rooms don't have safes or robes like we are used to. But it is an "express" after all. My super hot trophy girl friend says since we were offered breakfast it cancels out the lack of robes in the room :) Easy walk to down town restaurants, and campus.

Yesterday was our second visit to this hotel in Athens. The rooms are clean and recently renovated. The location is a short walk to the freshman dorms, old campus, the stadium and downtown. The pet friendly rooms are located on the lower floor and have very easy access to a large, shady, and very safe dog walking area. Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful. There was a mix up with my reservation and everyone was very helpful and professional. The problem was corrected and we had a ... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for Twilight. We originally picked this hotel for the price and the fact that it was within walking distance to the downtown restaurants, bars, and shops. The staff were very friendly. No complaints.

I had to work in Athens over the weekend and my wife and I stayed at this location. The room was clean as a pen and the bathroom was SPOTLESS! Very very clean ! No dust no nothing ! Shined like a new dime ! We were very impressed ! We enjoyed our staff and the front desk staff earns a A plus for hospitality !!!!

This was disappointing --- crud on the toilet, missing some of the standard amenities (e.g., laundry bag). I was assigned a room with two full size beds when I'd reserved (and paid for) a king size bed. I arrived at the property at about 3 a.m., approaching 24 hours awake, so I did not bother to go back down to the front desk to change rooms. The hotel is dated and a bit run down; and parking was horrible.

Jessica, Kathleen, and Taylor were beyond outstanding accommodating 7 people with last minute reservations, due to another hotel not honoring reservations we had. Thanks to Jessica and her professional phone etiquette, Taylor for making sure everyone was taken care of, and Kathleen for our late night check in- we couldn't have been happier with our stay.

While the staff is certainly friendly, this is not a good place to get any sleep. School was not in session but people were making a lot of noise in the halls at 2 AM and earlier. Even with posted signs(unusual) that no one reads. The AC unit could not be put in continuous fan mode to cover the noise. In addition, there is no way to access the lobby without some stairs, unless you walk outside and around the hotel. Housekeeping did not get to our room by 2 PM so we had to do without. There was a... Front desk staff called on the room phone to make sure the room was acceptable. A nice touch. Conveniently located to UGA north campus and downtown Athens. Reasonably priced. Clean and comfortable with a very nice continental breakfast. Will stay there again.

This hotel's location can't be beat -- very close to lots of interesting things. The hotel was very quiet and the staff were friendly, which were also nice. However, the facility as a whole felt somewhat run-down and in need of upgrading, which was a bit of a disappointment.

While this hotel is close to downtown, its further away than others that are more walking friendly. The staff is friendly as others have said, but it can't make up for the faults. This property allows pets so we heard dogs barking at all hours , the owners didn't seem to care. We had a room on the 1st floor which my wife dubbed the dungeon since its down one flight from the lobby. Loud people in hallway and outside day or night. The worst part was the lights in the parking lot which was like h... Read more

Great location right next to campus. Our room was in a different tower from the main hotel and it was complicated and not really easy to get there from the lobby with our luggage. Probably should have driven around and gone in a side door, but already had our luggage in the lobby with us and would have had to reload the car. Not a great breakfast.

The room was very adequate for a "quick" sleep. Just stopped there to see the campus and cute town. There was some remodeling being finished up, but our room was complete.the breakfast room was large and very nice with good food also. Staff was friendly and a great location. Recommend!!

My biggest complaint is that this hotel is located across the street from public housing and is an uphill hike away from the downtown area. I booked this hotel based on reviews from this site and was VERY disappointed in both the hotel and this site! ??

We had to rent a room during our house renovations, and I found the staff to be exceptionally flexible, kind, and thoughtful. The manger, Taylor, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

Nice place. I would recommend this for visit. Pretty good breakfast buffet. Staff is friendly. No real problems . Bed was comfortable. May need some updating but would come back when in this area. I'm real picky about where I stay. It's close to restaurants and university.

The staff is super friendly, polite, cheerful and accommodating. The room was very roomy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Un-knownly, we left some clothes in the drawer when we checked out. It was a couple of days before we realized it. I called back to the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and told me housekeeping had logged in the find. Despite a few obstacles, the staff worked to return the clothes to us. Thank you for going beyond their job. We will definitely stay there ... Read more

Price and location was ok. However the lower floor had a wet smell. My room had a bleach cleaner smell, at least they cleaned. Also the beds we well worn. They could have been replaced... Overall the hotel was ok. I expected more from the Holiday Inn Express. The hotel needs some updates in the rooms.

This hotel/motel had Clean beds, linens, towels, bathrooms, good size rooms, adequate breakfast. When we found a bedbug, they immediately moved our room. The desk clerk and housekeepong staff provided Good service. It wasn't walking distance from town, but was a quick, easy ride in. The Pool was chlorinated, but didn't look clean.

This hotel is decent value for the money and in a collage town. Floors, walls, furniture could use some updating, but a good value for your money. Rooms are a little small and the bathroom is very small. I would stay here again if I'm back in the area.

There are very few things about this hotel that would make me want to stay there again. I would check every hotel in a five mile radius before settling on this one. The location is decent (not great). You can walk by the government housing up to the town. You can look out your window at the view of the government housing, or see it from the pool deck as well. The staff was nice but why, as a single woman traveler, did the front desk girl put me on the first floor? The first floor isn't even real... Read more

In my 36 years of going to Hotels this was my worst experience by far. I had made reservations on September 10th for October 7th and 8th, 2016. I used a valid credit card and received an email stating my reservation was confirmed. On Wednesday October 5th the hotel called me to ask if I was still coming and I said yes. On Friday morning (the first day I was scheduled to be staying there), I phoned the hotel and they assured me my room was available. When I arrived at the hotel at 7:00 pm the wom... Read more

Location: very close to college - Staff: Polite, no issues - Room: Very clean, bed was very comfortable, clean linens, fluffy towels, room was updated. Bathroom was TINY. Interior hall access. - Noise: Walls seemed paper thin. You could hear the next room and any noise in hall.

This hotel is very centrally located but is in sore need of an upgrade. The noise from the hallways was a disaster. Two women attending a conference were having a chat outside the room across the hall, and they might as well have been sitting on our beds! Why? Because the door was so poorly hung that the light (and sound!) poured in on all four edges. Surely that can be alleviated with some kind of weather-stripping! And it wasn't even a football weekend! If you have a choice, stay somewhere els... Read more

The complimentary breakfast has a wide selection. I??d say overall this was a great stay and we will definitely come back! The shining star of this hotel is it??s lo... Read more

This hotel is perfect for an overnight visit to Athens. In walking distance of the university and downtown restaurants and bars, it is an older facility, but well kept. Rooms are a nice size, and while some reviews reported that rooms were noisy, our room near the back of the third floor was quiet as it could be. Bathrooms are small but clean and adequate. Front desk staff was super friendly and the breakfast provided was more than adequate - very nice dining room area also.
