Attended a fundraising auction on 27 Feb 16. Food was absolutely the best i've had in this city in a while. The event center was spacious and well decorated. The staff were polite and made sure that we were well taken care of. Wish that the restaurant was open full time because I would be eating there on a regular basis.

Very cute place with lots of charm. The pub house on the property is very quaint and a nice spot for a drink and dinner. The shuttle van to nearby restaurants was a HUGE bonus for us. Beds were comfy and room was clean. Our location of our room (the building it was in) was unfortunately located directly across from the housekeeping building. So, we didn't have a nice view, but I think that's because we booked the hotel so close to our trip. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay! If we are ever... Read more

This is a great place to stay in a fully renovated vintage auto court. I love shopping local, but find this more difficult with motels. Merry Acres is a delightful find. A nice room with a good hit breakfast at a competitive rate. I will be back.

Being in the service industry myself I may be more critical....however room was clean, the bathroom door was damaged and hard to shut (visible to anyone and didn't report because it wasn't that big of a deal) had I roomed with someone I would have wanted to make sure it shut. Staff was nice, pub was great and shuttle to Catch was so nice! Enjoyed a great night and dinner and will stay again because of the atmosphere and staff!

I travel for work and have stayed here multiple times. The front desk is always a pleasure and easy to check in. The rooms are awesome, I love the floors not being carpet. They are always clean and tidy. Excellent free breakfast. I don't use it but they have a free shuttle to several restaurants. I work nights so sleep during the day, this hotel is well built and always quiet even though they usually have lots of guests. Never a problem in 10 weeks that I have stayed here at least 2 days a week.... Read more

As a tradesman travels quite frequently and has to stay in places that are convenient and moderately priced this is an oasis. Just a bit of Americana that is so seldom found. Everything is delightful clean and pleasant. Built in 1954 it has charm that cannot be replicated. Not fancy just perfect.

This place brings back southern hospitality. Friendly staff and awesome food. Location is excellent. They have security so no problems. Rooms were very clean and great shower pressure. Towels were not your sandpaper type you find at other hotels.

Merry Acres is a quaint and peaceful place to stay in Albany GA. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The restaurant on location has a variety of items to choose from and the bar is a great place to wind down after a long day. Live music, great food, excellent service.... Love this place.

Merry Acres Inn is a great place to stay. Very economical, pet friendly, and a very friendly staff. It's not a new place, but it's very comfortable. The single unit rooms are all ground level, so you don't hear feet stomping over your head all night. The rooms have a fridge and microwave, the beds are comfortable, and the A/C works well. There is plenty of area to walk the dog, a very nice pool, coupons for a free breakfast buffet, and also a good restaurant on premises for lunch or dinner. ... Read more

The room was in need of some repairs. The tub needed refinishing. The BR tile needed cleaning. The shelving in the BR was rusted and didn't look like it had been cleaned very good from the previous guest. The outlet in the BR didn't work therefore the office had to bring a hair dryer (which they did promptly). The room appeared to be very old. I've stayed at this location before and was in a more updated room and was looking forward to returning, somewhat disappointed in this stay. The microwave... Read more

We visit this hotel to attend a relatives funeral. Believe me it is not as good as it looks on the picture. This hotel needs to work on the cleanliness of the rooms . There was mold around the bath tub. The night latch needs repair. I must say that the food is very good. The price is not right-it should be lower.

Horrible is not a strong enough word for this place. We were part of a Family Reunion on July 8, 2016. My family requested two suites at a cost of 200.00 each night for each suite for 2 nights. We were totally shocked at the quaility of the suites. The window sills were cracking and in need of painting. The back of the doors were as dusty as can be. The kitchen was outdated. In fact, the total place was VERY OUTDATED. When we arrived we could not believe that this was the place we paid for. Mer... Read more

This place does NOT look like the photos that were posted. Maybe some rooms in the hotel are updated, but definitely not all of them, so you run a gamble to what quality room you will get. HORRIBLE! We stayed in the Manor House in the family suites, but for 200$ a night we didn't like it at all. The food at the resteraunt every morning was good and that is the only star I will give it. As far as the hotel staff they were friendly, but we were more upset at the condition of the rooms. This place ... Read more

We checked in late on a Friday and left early the following Sunday. So this was a quick trip. We did use the delivery service to order from Harvest Moon, one of the other Stewbo's properties, which is a nice option. Delivery was slower than promised. Order was correct, amd food was okay. Overall, our room was expected. We were consistently shorted on towels by housekeeping and had to ask for more. Air conditioning unit was noisy, and our room had a distinctly musty odor. I loved the hard... Read more

My husband and I recently relocated to Albany, GA. While we were waiting for the closing on our home there, we stayed at the Merry Acres Inn for 50 days! Ironically, we didn't start at that hotel. We started at the Country Acres Inn (but that's another review, DON'T go there)! Merry Acres Inn is quaint, clean and courteous. They have a pool, swings and coupons for free down home cooked breakfasts to die for! Also, coupons for a free drink in the evening. Restaurant on premises, or they will driv... Read more

My room was disgusting. Obviously hadn't been cleaned- there was pubic hair in the shower. I thought I was going to vomit and it made me really question whether or not I wanted to sleep in the bed. Thank god our stay was only one night. Had I had any other option, I would have taken it

Chose this spot because of generally good reviews and the fact that is is pet-friendly. If I were rating purely by the staff, they would get five stars plus...super friendly, super helpful and thinking about your every need. Room was clean, bed comfortable, double-sheeted comforter and nice sheets and pillows all were nice. But the campus-like, motel setting is showing its age and needs a bit of tender loving care. Loose door handles, toilet seats that are falling off, crusty faucets, daylig... Read more

We recently stayed at the Merry Acres as the result of a class reunion in Albany. As a former resident of Albany, I have a lot of familiarity with the inn. It has been there for longer than I can remember. Yet, in spite of its age, it has maintained a great appeal and charm. Drive right up to the front door of your room. Find comfortable beds and even in room amenities associated with newer hotels. It has a nice bar/pub and a good restaurant on property. I will stay there again.

During the 2016 Florida mandatory evacuation for Hurricane Mathew we ended up in Albany, GA. We had a wonderful breakfast each day at the Merry Acres Inn built in 1952. Grits, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, waffles, coffee, juice, etc They were so friendly. They have a wonderful porch at the Manor house with a pub and menus for great food. They have a complimentary shuttle service that brings you to award-winning Stewbos restaurants nearby, The Harvest Moon, The Catch Seafood Room, or Hen... Read more

We found Merry Acres as we were searching for a pet friendly motel to escape Hurricane Matthew. We were pleasantly surprised with the welcoming atmosphere and comfortable room for 4 adults, 1 child and a dog. The room was decorated nicely, the bathroom needed updating though. Breakfast was good with a nice variety of hot entrees and very friendly staff. Great place to weather the storm!

Who would guess we would end up in Albany, GA when we had to evacuate Florida to Hurricane Matthew? This Inn made all the difference in a stressful situation. The Inn was packed, but when we arrived after driving from 3AM to 9AM Mr. Joe, our host offered comfy leather chairs in the sitting area and delicious coffee. He magically got our room vacated and cleaned. We were sound asleep on a comfortable mattress by noon. Don't be put off by the fact it's an older one-story Inn. The rooms are l... Read more

I've been an actor for the last 45 years, so I've moved around a lot and stayed in many hotels and motels. I've never enjoyed staying in any of them half as much I have at Merry Acres in Albany, GA. It feels like I'm living in a small, friendly village. The staff is very helpful; the complimentary breakfasts are always hot and delicious; the walls of the rooms are thick enough to keep out all but the loudest noises; and everything is tastefully decorated and extremely clean. The whole feeling... Read more
