Resort Details

The building - known to locals as the `Grand Lady on the Bay` due to her extensive size - was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer`s dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made outstanding, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and `50s brought a grocery store with the city`s first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a bewitching boutique hotel with contemporary style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah`s renowned historic district.

Accommodation Details

A cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine are provided in rooms and suites. Some Hotel Indigo suites have a separate seating area with sofa bed and a loft-style 2-level layout. Rooms come with a direct dial phone with voicemail and free local calls. You`ll find spa-like bathrooms with hairdryers and bathtubs. Standard internet service is free for all guests.

Restaurants, Lounges & Bars

The Lobby Bar serves a delicious breakfast and you can also get a cocktail at the bar. If you visit River Street, you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while dining on savory southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses.

Whatever the season, Savannah is the perfect family-friendly vacation destination with so many things to do. Packed with history and recreational opportunities, Savannah offers plenty of family fun. We love the way they modernized this stately old building. The high ceilings in our room really made it feel different than most hotels. Simply beautiful. It's location is right across the street from the River street area in the historic district. There was plenty to do in easy walking distance. The staff was great. We really enjoyed our two-night stay.

This hotel was very modern and clean. There is a restaurant/bar in the lobby with plenty of tv's for viewing sports or whatever you're into (if you don't wanna sit in your room.) The staff was very courteous and welcoming. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have a pool, nor do they have refrigerators in the room. Otherwise, I really enjoyed staying here and will stay at Hotel Indigo in the future.

The location, room, and staff were marvelous. However you have to plan for $25 per day for valet parking (since there is no free parking) and paying for breakfast since there is no other option (coffee is available in your room but no free coffee in the lobby or sitting area). Also there was no information in the room about the amenities at the hotel or attractions nearby and no list of channels or instructions for using the TV. I also found it annoyingly difficult to find a way in after walk... Read more

We checked in early on the day we arrived and the front desk agent Courtney was professional, upbeat, well-spoken and a general pleasure to converse with. Great find on the West Bay Street, new property for Indigo and hotel was just completely redone. I had such a great experience for business, that I already booked a return weekend stay for September.Clean and modern rooms. We stayed at the Indigo hotel for 3 nights and it was great. Great service, awesome location. The only thing I would recommend if you want to save a few bucks is not to use the valetbservice for $25 a day, but to park your car for much less in one of the nearby public garages, where you have to walk some blocks but I thought it was totally worth it.

There is an outside area for sitting and enjoying the evening, as well as a restaurant/bar. Valet parking is listed on their website, but Priceline markets the hotel with free parking. Hotel Indigo has asked to have that information taken off but it is still there. So, just be aware that the parking is $25/day. But once you park your car, you really can walk to mo... Read more
