Resort Details

The building - known to locals as the `Grand Lady on the Bay` due to her extensive size - was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer`s dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made outstanding, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and `50s brought a grocery store with the city`s first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a bewitching boutique hotel with contemporary style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah`s renowned historic district.

Accommodation Details

A cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine are provided in rooms and suites. Some Hotel Indigo suites have a separate seating area with sofa bed and a loft-style 2-level layout. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a short one night stay. I had never experienced a Hotel Indigo so I hasn't sure what to expect. Well, delighted isn't enough. From the moment I arrived, the smiling friendly valet was polite and took my car. When I enter the building (which I found out later, has a ton of history and is present through the detail of the hotel) again, multiple greetings form the front desk staff welcomed me. My room was stunning!! Beautiful décor, tons of ... Read more

We stayed on the 4th floor for 2 nights from Fri - Sunday. The hotel is in the historic district and close to River St and Congress St if you like to go out and have good food and drinks. We came for a few nights to relax and have some good southern food. All in all, it was a great time. The rooms are clean, modern, and noise was not an issue. Upon check-in, the lady at the desk was a bit curt but upon check-out, we had another lady who was very friendly and wanted to make sure we had a great st... Read more

This hotel is gorgeous and the location is amazing but the staff needs serious work. We checked in after driving from Florida with a toddler and were put in the wrong room. Ok....it happens. I call down to front desk and the girl says to come and get new keys....no apology or offer to help. I go grab the keys and explain that we have a lot of things, a toddler and this is a very large inconvenience especially when the bank of elevators for the suites isn't anywhere near the regular ones. Arrived hours early at the hotel to ask if we can check in early. Fortunately, one of them did mention they have rooms available but would have to wait a couple of minutes since they were rebooting the system. Waiting about 20 mins and was able to check in early. Was so glad to check in early to nap. Pulled out the sheets and noticed some stains... (see picture) and there was only 2-3 sheets of facial tissues left in the box. Upon checking out, Meka was very accommodating in leaving my belonging... Read more

Room was very clean, check in was seamless and they had a very nice concierge set up for Happy hour. The bar was stocked nicely and the bartender had a lot of good advice as to where to visit! Price was very reasonable and I would certainly recommend for couples or business trip.

We spent a night in Savannah and couldn't have asked for a better location. Walking distance to several bars and restaurants, concierge was super helpful to get tickets and was able to leave my luggage at the hotel while we finish sight seeing. Very impressed, definitely want to come back.

Check in was fair..nothing special. Requested to change rooms initially was in room 227 which is next to the ice machine it loud and you will hear every time someone uses it. Switched to room 206. These rooms do NOT have a refrigerator or microwave as listed on the website! I requested a refrigerator and no one ever brought on to my room. Called down to request a complimentary toothpaste they claimed they offered but when I got downstairs they said they were all out.

I stayed at the Hotel Indigo Savannah on my way to a retreat. I was welcomed back by very friendly valets and I was able to check in early for my room which had a beautiful view of the river. The employees that I interacted with were very nice and charming - all that you'd expect from southern hospitality!

The hotel was excellent. The room is a smidge small but was comfortable and worked fine for us! There were 3 of us staying and we enjoyed our stay! The Valet service was EXCELLENT! Kendria was our attendant twice and was GREAT! She had outstanding customer service and was more than helpful!!!! We saw her helping another lady and was going above and beyond her call! Kudos Kendria!
