Resort Details

The building - known to locals as the `Grand Lady on the Bay` due to her extensive size - was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer`s dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made outstanding, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and `50s brought a grocery store with the city`s first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a bewitching boutique hotel with contemporary style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah`s renowned historic district.

Accommodation Details

A cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine are provided in rooms and suites. Some Hotel Indigo suites have a separate seating area with sofa bed and a loft-style 2-level layout. After realizing the Hotel Indigo was across from the Andaz, I was a bit concerned because the old Days Inn had been at that location. My concerns were laid to rest when I entered the lobby. Let's be clear: I am a snob. I was originally booked for two nights, and ended up staying for five because the hotel was so nice and I was having such an amazing time. I was a solo traveler, and but the staff was so friendly I never really felt alone. I was checked in by Heather, a delightful, friendly gi... Read more

Jamilla served our breakfast this morning with grace and a most friendly attitude. The breakfast was good, but Jamilla made the atmosphere great! The hotel is in a wonderful location and Savannah is very walkable.

I booked this hotel through Hotwire so didn't know the location until I had paid. I was very happy with the hotel as I love staying in the Historic District and this hotel is close to all the HD has to offer. Great check in procedure, there is a $26 charge to valet your vehicle - not great but average industry wide. Great modern decor and very friendly staff. The room was comfy, we had a two room suite, with a nice bed and great pillows. Bathroom was really nice especially the double headed... Read more

Enjoyed staying at this hotel for a night while traveling to visit family before the holidays. All of the staff were attentive and delightful. Mix of modern and historic decor in hotel was a good combo. Great location to walk quickly to River Street or Ellis Square and grab good local food and drinks. Definitely plan to stay again the next time I visit family in Georgia. Only negative was regarding guests across hallway from us who left their dog barking in a room throughout afternoon and early... My stay was wonderful! We had one issue with our room but the front desk manger, Jasmine handled it ASAP! Also, I hate when hotels only have Valet parking, but Dre, Chanel, Nathan, and Adrian always made us a priority!! We will definitely return!!

We have been living around the Savannah area for three years now and have never stayed here! Wish we would've sooner! Jasmine helped us at the desk and she was amazing. Thanks Hotel Indigo for the amazing staff and the upgraded king suite you guys gave us for the evening! Can't wait to go back again for the night/weekend!

Had an awesome stay here. Fun and family friendly areas easily within walking distance. Many restaurants and ample shopping opportunities as well. Beautiful parks and architecture within blocks of the hotel. Pedestrian only City Market is only 2 blocks away with live music outside. Great bar in the hotel with awesome bartenders. Ask for Shayne and Jason!

Loved this hotel! The staff including guest checkin, valet, bartender - all top notch in that they were fast, efficient, friendly but not too friendly. The room put it over the top however with comfortable beds, perfect pillows, easy to control temperature, a Keurig, but the ABSOLUTE BEST....The shower. It was amazing; the perfect use of space with a double shower, all tiled, sliding glass doors and immaculate! Adequate plush- real towels. No outside noise at all and yet in the location made for... We were just passing through Savannah and stayed over night. The check in was quick our room was clean and the hotel was very swanky. I would highly recommend a stay. We did not dine here or use amenities but we will be back for a longer weekend.

I stayed at the hotel for years when it was the Inn at Ellis Square. The Indigo has naturally spiced things up with an excellent bar, new look at the check in counters, nicer rooms and suites, and a generally more elegant and polished look. The service was great and the on-site restaurant was great and a really good addition. A good breakfast is hard to find in downtown Savannah. Our server, Covartis, was excellent and a great representative for Savannah and the Indigo.
