"We arrived late at night to start our stay there was not a place to park we asked the desk clerk about it he said they had another parking lot which he gave us crazy directions for which we searched for 45 min. All he would have had to say was behind Walgreens. He also did not give us a parking pass which you can not get into the main parking lot without. There were several parties and weddings while we were there. They saved parking spots for those people it was hard to get a parking spot. We were in a room right by the ice machine which people were using all night long. When we talked to the staff they were not friendly I had needed some silverware I went to the front desk they sent me to the resturant when I opened the door the staff was working a private party and let me know I was not welcome. I complained and was told that people book their parties and weddings they take priority. The room was clean however we never had our room cleaned before 3 or 4 in the evening."

"We loved this hotel its right on the beach staff is really friendly the hotel is clean pools are great beach is nice great getaway with my husband and our 2 year old girl we where on the 1st floor would recommend it to all the parents with small kids sand right in front of you door for great sand castles for the kids while you drink your coffee and enjoy your view of the beach wow thats all i have to say we will be back for sure next year."

"A few issues...we arrived at 5:30 pm and room was not ready due to 'computer issues'. We were told room would be ready in 5 minutes so we waited in lobby with cart. 30 minutes later we were given key and sent to room. It was 1st floor right by noisy elevator. When we went to room it was all tile and soaking wet so we couldn't enter. We waited outside in corridor another 15 minutes and still not dry, so I returned to front desk to ask for a room that was ready. They quickly complied and gave us a 3rd floor room which was carpeted and further away from elevator. Also gave us complimentary breakfast for our inconvenience. So, we had issues, but they were well handled. I do suspect that they tend to place customers that booked through a third party in that lower quality room. Loved the hotel. Wonderful staff, clean rooms and pools. Lots to offer!"

"Good value if going out of season but would not classify as a true 5 star resort more like a 2 at best. Room was relatively clean but the bathroom shower stall was already growing mold and was very difficult to maneuver in even though I am an average size 5'8'' and 180lb. Kitchenette was nice but we only used the fridge, nice and cold. We bought a small styrofoam cooler to take to the beach and our drinks stayed icy cold all day with only a bucket of ice added to the cooler. The beds were on the stiffer side and my back and hips minded it... much better when I got home in my own bed. Noisy...our room was across from the squeaky elevator doors and the parking lot and road ran right in front all the rooms. Restaurant and pool noise was throughout the day until about 11pm then quieted down. Restaurant food was pricy bar food, mediocre entertainment and expensive bar drinks....$7.50 for a 12 ounce domestic beer and 12 ounce sprite that was flat. One -man-band entertainment and nearby entertainment too close to each other that sometimes you could not hear one without hearing the other. Beach was wide but sand was very 'shelly'. Canopy rentals were $30/day. but at least I am not sunburned. Hotel beach/pool towels were small so take your own. Now for the good points. Ocean water was gentle and warm 78 F. Sunsets were awesome. Lots of space around you at the beach. Sand bar out slightly from shore had very soft sand to stand on...shuffle your feet so as not to step on a skate. Typical beachy things to do like junk shop in surf shops, candy shops bars etc. Visited John's Pass about a mile up the road. Cool little shops and bars but touristy. Recommend the Pearl Restaurant about a block from the Hotel. Awesome early bird specials and I'd give it 4 out 5 stars. Delicious gourmet food also has many Moroccan fare. We had venison, and filet one night and went back the next night for Tilapia and filet. Early bird specials are $10-12 if seated before 5:45 then they go up to the $20-30 range. Also ate at the Middle Grounds Grill a few blocks up the road which was awesome but a little more pricey. It definitely had more atmosphere but both were ranked 3rd and 4th for the St. Pete beach area. Again we stayed out of season so the price being down definitely made it a more tolerable stay. All in all try to get a room away from the elevators and restaurant area and you will be more satisfied. Hope this helps."

"Great resort and family oriented. We had a room in the Palms building which is the oldest building of the resort. Our room was directly above the bar/rest. Sloppy Joes - food there was great. Location was good for traveling to other areas and shopping. My only problem was that the room was a little small and the queen beds (I thought were small for queen). Secondly, there is a charge for the use of the in room safe - I thought that was strange and have never had to pay for that service. Third, I did find cockroaches in the cupboards but in Florida is this so uncommon for a hotel? I don't honestly know. I have seen these bugs in higher and lower class hotels. I still would recommend this hotel to anyone and as of right now planning our vacation for here next year. Loved the area...."

"The only negative thing about our vacation was the fact that people tended to save pool chairs with their towels all day long. The pool area isn't very big, but to save towels on chairs for the entire day when it was clearly evident that the people had not been in the chairs all day was disappointing. It is one thing to have your towel on a chair and go for a walk on the beach for a period of time, however there wer a couple of times that I noticed that the chairs had been completely un-used all day long. We had a wonderful sunny, warm trip to Florida!!"

"I hunted for weeks before picking the Bilmar and I was happy with my choice. The hotel was very clean and just enough room for the three of us. We booked a 1st floor room with the sand at our feet when the patio door was opened, my daughter loved it. Much better than having to go up and down for her to play in the sand. The only two complaints was 1st: The dumpsters were dumped EVERY morning like clockwork at 7:50 a.m. not sure about you but on vacation I would like to sleep in, management needs to change that to the afternoon, 2nd: Our first floor room had the maid station outside our door so starting at 8 a.m. you would hear the cart go back and fourth so mayy times I lost count. My husband said it almost seemed that they wanted us to wake up so they could clean the room, which was always done before noon. My daughter said the carts sound like a horse carriage going by everytime, I agreed. If you want the first floor stay away from that area (which is close to Sloppy Joe's). If we come back to this area we would stay at Bilmar again just at the other end. We ate at both restaurants several times both very good."
