I had a procedure scheduled very early in the morning at Tampa General and chose this hotel due to its proximity. Upon arrival, I was very surprised that the valet didn't open my door. At nearly every hotel I've ever stayed that's a fairly standard way of greeting guests. We proceeded to the lobby, which was quite beautiful, and checked in. The young woman was professional and pleasant but a bit chatty about her personal life. She informed us that the only king bed available was a handicap acces... Read more

I recently stayed at the Tampa Marriott Waterside location for the Dusan wedding. I was very upset that I was forced to cash out my $200+ tab in front of the big group of people I was with, since the lobby bar closed down early and I was sent all the way downstairs to champion bar and grill. This was very frustrating and upsetting. However, thanks to Hans & Luis, the best bartenders! I recently stayed at the Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina while on business travel. Upon arrival I was welcomed in the lobby with refreshments, nice touch after a long day. During check-in I mentioned that I needed a feather free room and the front desk staff changed my room assignment to the "feather free floor". This was the first time I've heard of a hotel offering such an accommodation - what a great idea! The lobby area of the hotel is impressive with open ceilings and towering palm t... Read more

As part of a Tampa vacation during Tampa Bay Beer Week, I decided to book this hotel as it was convenient to the Huna day event we were attending. Given the amount of people in town, I expected the hotel to be a bit of a mess. For the most part it was but they handled it well. We pulled up to the hotel on Saturday at 10am to find a disaster at the valet. They were just overwhelmed and it wasn't their fault. Eventually they got us taken care of and I was happy to pay the $24 for the overnig... Read more

Nice hotel great location to Arena, Convention Center, Ybor City. If you are in the executive lounge Carl Fuller is excellent in every way. Only downside to me is valet parking ,though efficient raises cost with tips and daily charges, money id rather use for F&B. Sports bar in resturant standard fare but good service.

Recently I stayed at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel. The hotel was very nice, the room clean and comfortable, and the view of the water and it's wildlife (mostly rays) was great fun. The best part of the stay though was the Concierge Lounge. Carl Fuller, Jr. greeted me warmly and made sure I had everything I needed for a good start to my morning. This hotel is an awesome property. You don't have a beach but the River Walk is just out the back door. Plenty of things to walk to. They have the new Stay Well floor and I stayed in one of those rooms. Give it a try. The Vitamin C shower is a bit over rated but the rest of the features were nice to have. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good. The service was a bit slow. I would stay here again if I was in town and not going to the beaches.

I had the pleasure of spending five days at this hotel. It's perfectly located by the Convention Center and Tampa Riverwalk. The hotel was clean and organized and the staff were very accommodating. One specific treat was having breakfast each morning in the Concierge Lounge. Carl Fuller, Jr. was friendly, helpful, and always kept the place cleaned up and looking nice. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

I rarely rate a property five stars especially if they charge for parking. However, the staff, location and amenities make it worthy of this rating. As usual I will list the pros and cons: Pros: Great staff. From Emily at the front desk who gave me a 24th floor water view almost across from the concierge lounge, to Joyce and Carl, the evening and breakfast attendants in the Concierge Lounge who were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved the accommodations! My husband was there, on business, and I loved hanging out in the beautiful lobby, enjoying the newly renovated pool, and walking all over the Riverwalk. It was a great place for exercise. (I clicked "yes" for a rooftop pool because it was outside, on the 3rd floor, but technically it isn't on the hotel rooftop because the hotel has 27 floors.) This hotel is right on the water, good access to the long waterside walkway, it also has nice views from the rooms, very large bedrooms and a tall imposing building. I couldn't use the pool because of Storm Colin during my stay which was a shame. The parking is also expensive and they take a long time to collect your car, however overall a good experience and highly recommend.

It's got all the bells and whistles you would expect from a Marriott and the location is simply perfect, especially if you are attending a convention; however, there were just little things that made it annoying, starting with the elevators. Allegedly there were some repairs in progress, but they are frankly some of the slowest I've seen anywhere. I was happy to use the stairs, but the layout is so awkward and the stairs are marked as "emergency exit only" so that's not intuitive either. Then... Read more

To be as fair as possible to the staff that work here, I will not be giving a two star review since the rooms here are fine and, overall, the hotel is an excellent space to hold/attend a conference. Alright, now that we've covered the good, let's get to the bad.... We stayed in December and had booked our rooms back in August (which, you would think, would exempt us from being overbooked). Great location. Fantastically clean, modern and spacious. Beautiful rooftop pool. Delicious food. Beautiful surroundings. Tampa City is well worth exploring and breakfast at Moxie's is a must. The Tampa River Walkway gently meanders alongside the River where if you're lucky, you may see a dolphin! A helicopter flight over the bay from Davis Island is also worth considering. Clearwater Beach is only half an hour away by car. We would def recommend this hotel...you will not be disappointed!

Such a beautiful hotel. Very inviting and relaxing. Great views. Great restaurant choices in and around the hotel. Perfect location as its in the center of everything. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean. Beds are soooo comfortable. Highly recommend. Nice to walk the boardwalk right behind hotel. Marina is right there too.

This hotel has beautiful views of the harbor/marina and is located directly across from the Tampa Bay Lightning's Amalie Arena. My room had a lovely balcony to watch the sun on the water, and there is also a riverfront walk and small park with a playground right next door. Even though I am a Rewards member, requests for a little extra time to check out are usually denied at most hotels. I had a presentation that ended right after checkout and was pleasantly surprised that my request for an extra... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights during the end of July. Check-in was fast and efficient. I immediately felt comfortable here as I was traveling without my husband. I didn't want to order room service because nothing seemed appealing, and there was not any literature in the room regarding local restaurants who delivered. I went downstairs and asked the bellhops, who handed me a card with a list of pizza places who delivered to the hotel. My entire stay was excellent until I went to check out. ... Read more

After a small problem with our room we were switched to a Staywell room which this hotel is piloting. It is well worth the money! Air purifiers in the room and lighting to create a relaxed environment are just my wife needed! Thank you Rebecca for the room switch! Staff was outstanding and the setting is within easy walking distance of the Amalie Arena where the Tampa Bay Lightning play. The streetcar stop is just outside of the hotel as well for easy access to Ybor City. Great views of th... Read more

I really enjoyed meeting Carl Fuller, Jr. who was responsible for service in the concierge lounge. He provided excellent service with a cheerful smile. Would return to any place that attracts and retains team members like Carl!

After being told we could not get a refund, due to a booking issue, we reached Hazel and Emily. They worked with us and canceled our reservation, and got us the refund! Amazing! Above & beyond! Grateful!!! THANK YOU!

i was here for a conference and was very happy for the most part. My one complaint was my particular room had a view of the lower level rooftop and was even obstructed by huge AC units so there was no reason to look out the window. other than that the hotel was great. It was not too far to walk to the convention center for meetings. Restaurants and entertainment were all within walking distance. it was fun to look at the boats and yachts in the marina. Its not a beach resort so I'm not sure how ... Read more

Bad banquet food. Overpriced cash bar. Limited food options in restaurants. Very friendly staff members. No convenient retail shopping in area. Comfortable rooms in upscale modern hotel environment. Very hot and uncomfortable destination during July.

The concierge room is a wonderful addition to my stay. They have a nice breakfast as well as evening hors d'oeuvres and desserts. While all the food is wonderful evening if it wasn't for Carl Fuller, Jr. In the morning and Joyce Williams in the evening making sure everything ran smoothly it wouldn't be so wonderful. Both are courteous and attentive to the needs of all the guests. They have made the stay a warm and inviting one.

Just an overnighter to see friends in town. The hotel is easily accessible off of I4 and I275 in downtown Tampa. Hotel lobby area is open with a friendly lobby bar and good bar snacks. Hotel rooms are a good size with nice amenities. Hallway carpets on our floors needed replacing, but we understand they are in the process of doing those things. We enjoyed breakfast in the Waterside Grill with some enjoying the buffet and others ordering from the menu. We used the valet parking service and ... Read more

We stayed on our express cruiser at the Marina. Earle was extremely helpful with the booking and insuring our accomodations met our expectations. We were entitled to all the amenities, including boatside room service, not seen before. Earle was our restaurant guide and helped us with our reservations at the local restaurants. A great venue for a downtown active city.

I was in the Tampa area on business and one of my travel partners recommended we stay here instead of the Marriott location we normally stay at. The service was top notch from the valet staff all the way to housekeeping. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and provided us options for dining that allowed us to just walk and enjoy the local area. Enjoyed my stay so much that I plan on visiting again for my anniversary in August.

My son and I stayed here during Comic Con. The hotel was so convenient to the Civic Center and to the Hockey Stadium. We walked to both with no issues. The room was pretty standard. The elevators were slow - but signs said that repairs were under way. They did have an attendant at the elevators making sure it ran as smooth as possible. The parking was a challenge as we did have to wait 45 minutes for our car - valet was the only option. The iron in our room did not work. Called house kee... Read more

Great experience with staff overall they were all very pleasant people and excellent service at the spa from Ishmael Hughes. Also, by far the best tasting conference food I've had for lunch and dinner! The food was seasoned with flavor each meal was different and there were multicultural offerings not just "American" food.

The hotel itself was good and pretty much to the Marriott standard. While I was there for a conference, there were elevator issues that made me plan at least another 10 minutes for attending sessions. I must admit that the food for conference meals was above the normal standard. NO rubber chicken. On the negative side, the conference rooms were very cold. Good location but few other restaurants in the area that might add to the appeal of visiting here IF you were not at a conference. The... Read more

Though the hotel is nice, My 5 rating is just for the staff on this occasion. We had problems and they always resolved everything. Everyone was very nice. Really a a great bunch of people on every level...other than the barman at the pool. Mr. Grumpy really shouldn't be working in the hospitality industry.

Very nice hotel, great food, nice rooms but avg experience for this stay. Couldn't locate the reservation and rather than give me the rate that i told them I booked it at they were ready to have me stay at a much higher rate until I finally found it on my phone. Valet situation was ridiculous and it's simple to see why there is a new company assigned to parking cars almost everytime I stay at this property - after telling me to call ahead they dropped the ball and gave me a story about how the... The Tampa Waterside Hotel and Marina is one of the finest hotels in the entire state of Florida! You should always request a room or suite with a balcony as the views from the floors are fantastic! The two rooms that I had were very large and both had a Murphy Bed so that gave me much more room to entertain! What made this stay so great were the employees! They made my last stay a total success. Firstly: Front Desk Staff were exceptional and very professional in arranging the small room upg... Read more

This is an okay property in Tampa. The pluses are: great location where you can walk to the convention center and Jackson's restaurant, or take Uber to the mall or any number of other restaurants, the aquarium, etc. The boat rides are right there as well. There is a good bar (ask for the Underground Margarita; it's not on the menu, and not every bartender calls it that, but it's made with vanilla-infused tequila that they make on the property), nice terrace to sit outside, and you're right on th... We were going to a convention at the convention center and this was a great location for the hotel. It was just a short walk across a small street to get there. Admittedly, we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel; however the room was comfortable and the service was spectacular. The hotel normally had someone standing hear the elevators to catch them for you and help you on and off. We also ate at the restaurant in the back of the hotel and had an incredible meal.
