While the hotel itself is older with smaller rooms, the beach and views and charm of St Pete keep us coming back! Dog friendly, great pool and drinks, fantastic spa...get a massage while you are there...and wonderful staff!

Clara checked us in at reception with a wide variety of rooms to choose from and made sure we were satisfied with our choice. Nick and Keith on the beach were friendly, they supplied us with chairs, towels, umbrellas and delicious food and beverages. Last of all Joe the bartender in the pool bar area was a very nice and friendly. He took care of everyone at the bar and had time to talk to us being new visitors. Management has trained their employees vey well to make its visitors feel welcom... Read more

The Don Cesar is a beautiful, historic hotel. Nestled among white sand beaches, it is a great spot to come either for a little romance or as a family. We stayed in one of the "upgraded" rooms and it was nice, but quite small. It was supposed to have an ocean view and did if I stuck my head out of the small window. The bed was comfortable and clean. My only complaint is that the shower was quite dated. I hate shower curtains, and this one had it with the little rope to hang laundry on. W... Read more

Entire property is beautiful....But DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING CHEAP. The food is great, but you Will pay for it. We loved ending our trip at this hotel bevause everything was so nice. My husband and i chose to stay after walking the grounds. The young girl at check in was so nice. We came on the day of the National Championship in Tampa and she still helped us get a room. Love this hotel, but we could never afford too many nights because of prices. This includes the restaurants and shops

I've stayed at the Don many times and enjoyed them all. Prices are up there, the rooms can be small, and the "resort fee" covers many things that are standard in other hotels. However, every staff I encountered made me feel like I was the most important person staying there. The restaurants are excellent, the amenities are very good (though some can be pricey), but for short visits as mine are, it is a great place.

This is a beautiful hotel, the staff is very friendly, only I think the Lady Concierge must get free meals from restaurants because we asked for a good Italian restaurant and she sent us to Corina's not very good and the taxi driver said he hardly brings people to that restaurant but that was after we ate. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the WIFI is very slow and sometimes doesn't work also the TV loses stations like CBS & ABC and we were watching MSNBC and then they lost serv... We visited Captain Jamie along the beach and rented the jet skis during our trip to St. Pete. We done it for half hour and we enjoyed it so much we went back for another hour and was lucky enough to find dolphins!! Captain Jamie and his colleagues were very helpful and friendly. If you are thinking of doing this I would highly recommend it!
