The staff was wonderful but the rooms need a makeover and there were too many people loitering around the exits. Get rid of the vagrant looking people hanging around and lower the price per night to match the value of this property.

Every few months I have a business meeting in East Tampa out by the Fairgrounds. For the past 4-5 years, I have been staying at the La Quinta as it is located about a mile from the offices where the meetings take place. The location is extremely handy and the proximity to the highway makes it a breeze to get to and from the property. I feel I get tremendous value; the rooms are clean and good-sized. I can be in Ybor City for dinner in 10 minutes, or in downtown Tampa in less than 20 minutes. I... Read more

We stayed here overnight and the room wasn't the greatest. The bathroom was dated and really not the cleanest room. The beds were uncomfortable The hotel is centrally located and price was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. I suggest if you can pay a little more for a better experience.

Place was very clean, they did a great job cleaning and remaking beds. Front desk people very nice and helpful. Printed out very simple directions to casino and restaurants. Will go back next trip. Great.

Good deal for the price. Good location, Easy access. Friendly staff. Quick service. This hotel could use some more modern updates. Also, a wider variety of breakfast selections could be added. ....................................................................................................................................

Hallway on the third floor smelled like cigarettes. One day, we did not get our room cleaned. I had to call to get towels. Day before Memorial Day, pool area and pool was full of leaves. A guest started to clean the pool so her kids could get in. The room itself was good. Good bed. Bathroom was clean. Windows need cleaning. Personnel were nice. Overall, I would not stay or recommend this hotel.

Staff was professional, courteous and helpful. Location was great for the concert we were attending. However, even though we were told this was a non smoking hotel our room smelled like cigarette smoke. When we ask to change rooms, there were no other rooms available, but we did receive a discount.

This hotel is one of 4 at the Fairgrounds area. You can walk across the street to the venue. Good of an overnight -- but really needs to be renovated. Fridge, bathroom, furniture all old. Staff was at least friendly and room was mostly clean. Skipped breakfast. Breakfast staff and area needs attention and food service training. Not my first choice when going to a show.

If you're going to a concert at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, this is your ideal spot to "crash" since you can literally walk across the street. No worries about parking or driving under the influence! The hotel itself did not meet the standards of other La Quintas where I have stayed. Nearly everything in the room looked worn out; you could see that dogs had scratched up the doors and walls. The room smelled severely of cigarette smoke. It was bad enough that I stayed out of my room... Read more

The hotel is across the street from the fairgrounds (you can walk over). The staff is super friendly and very efficient at their jobs! The sheets, towels, and blankets are bright white, and the beds are comfy. A/C works VERY well in the rooms! The best part for the people travelling with dogs: the grass area in the front of the hotel is huge....lots of open space and shade from huge oak trees. Free breakfast helps save you time and money (waffles are delish)!

We stayed here twice. Both times we were told the room was not ready when we showed up. And we were not the only ones. The first time when we tried to check in the manager asked a nearby maid if our room was ready. She was just standing in the corridor and her reply was "I'm working on it now". From the lobby? Really? The second time they said they would call me when the room was ready. We walked to a nearby restaurant, waited for a table, ate and returned. The room was ready. This property was ... Great place to stay for attending events at the Fairgrounds across the street. Short walk to the fairgrounds and skip the hassle of parking for events at the fairgrounds. Police stand outside on 301 to stop traffic so easy crossing.

Usually a great hotel, this time it had massive sewage issues, smelled, toilets didn't flush, leaking rooms into 1st floor rooms, this was a nightmare. moved from 1st room due to overwhelming smell, other people asking for plungers, one room leaked and partially caved into a 1st floor room, our toilet stopped flusing on day 2.

SUPER NICE FOLKS, GREAT BREAKFAST! COMFORTABLE The maids were service oriented as well as the front desk staff. A surprisingly good variety of food for breakfast. Why stay at Hard Rock?, NO Free BF there. You pay for food elsewhere. Again super nice stay.

The hotel is in a good location to attend the Fairgrounds, the rooms offer the traditional space and amenities of any other LaQuinta rooms, but the cleanliness of this specific hotel was abysmal: 1. Upon entering the room, I found decomposing left over food in the fridge=smell 2. The shower had left over half empty bottles of shampoo, tale tale sign it had not been cleaned. 3. After the first night, the maid removed my towels and never replaced them, still didn't remove the left over shampoo bot... Read more

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Upon arriving it looked like it could use a little upgrading which after Check in I found out they were in the process of doing. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was a little hard to turn on but after contacting the front desk Nathan offered to come up and Check it but after trying it again I was able to get it. The only reason we gave this hotel 2 stars and not 1 star is because it's proximity to the midflorida amphitheater. If we weren't going to a show that night we would have switched hotels. There were wet wash rags left in the room. Toilet wouldn't flush well and had toilet paper still in the bowl when we arrived. There were stains all over the carpet, one being blood drops. Worst of all was the smell. We heard another couple in the hallway describe it as "a dead armadillo" type of smell.

The hotel and hallways had a distinct odor. The cleanliness of the rooms and the public areas were below expectations and standards. Lastly but more importantly...if you know that you are having issues with termites and bugs....."we have been monitoring the situation" I would strongly suggest that you rectify the situation before putting paying customers in those rooms.

for being a late check in and leaving at 9am I really needed a quiet room; I had booked a week or more in advance; my room was a connecting room and very noisy at that time of the morning. I had to leave television on for hours to drown out the family next door; I could actually hear the people talking as if in the same room. no privacy for a couple but I was single attending a church conference at The River Bible Institute with Pastor Rodney Howard Browne; I usually attend each camp meeting... An aged property that is maintained well. Clean and comfortable with WiFi, microwave and refrigerator. If you're one of those people, like my late father, who would enjoy eating ketchup on cold spaghetti then you will have no problem with their breakfast though you may wish to avoid the coffee, hard boiled eggs, bagels and waffles...oops, that's everything! The OJ's passable though. A bit too pricey for what you'd expect in my opinion.

For the price I thought it would be nicer. The lobby, elevator and halls are worn. Our room had new carpet and bedding, but the room still smelled of smoke from years past, I assume. The ceiling had yellow spots around the sprinklers which were covered with plastic. Weird. If going to an event I would stay at one of the other hotels next door.

We stayed at this LaQuinta Hotel since it was across the Street from the Mid-Florida Amphitheatre. Made life simple, we walked across the street for the concert. Five Guys burgers next door and we saved $30 for parking, so it was a great value.

Of the 4 hotels near the fairgrounds they had the best price. I was unsure because they were so much lower than holiday inn which is right next door. Buy You can't beat it! Friendly staff, fair price, clean rooms. Next time there's a show nearby we will be back.

We were here for a concert at the MidFlorida amphitheater so we booked a room for one night. We arrived at 3pm for check-in. This the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. My friends and I booked this hotel for a concert at the Midflorida Amphitheater which this hotel is conveniently across from. However, don't be fooled. We were told check in was at 3 PM so we arrived right on time. Upon arrival, they told us the room was not ready and they would give us call. Booked this hotel due to the fact that it was close to the concert venue and it seemed like a good value. When we arrived at 3pm which is when check in time is stated, the room was not ready but a "rush" was placed on the room for housekeeping and we gave a phone number to be reached when it was ready. It was stated to only be about a 30 minute wait. With no phone call received we arrived back at the hotel around 5:30 waited in line until 6 and the room was still not ready. By 6:30 there was a c... We booked this hotel for its location, free internet, and breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean and within 15 minutes walk to the concert venue. Booked a room here since we were attending a concert at the fairgrounds across the street. Area seems a little sketchy, but check in was pretty easy, room was nothing fancy, but it was clean. There's a 5 Guys right next door so grabbing a burger before the concert was a no brainer. Breakfast the next morning, again, was nothing fancy, but sufficient to get us going. The only down side we had was the in room coffee. No regular, just 4 packs of decaf! That's just cruel!

Jonathan came to my rescue when I discovered that I had booked for two nights instead of one... we did not show and so our visit was cancelled. Traveling to Tampa twice a month for the past five years I've been staying at the comfort inn however lately it's been very dirty. I tried Laquinta which is next-door and found it to be a bit better. The first room made my nose stuffy (mildew?), the second room was satisfactory. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and went to extra mile to breakfast was good and I may make this my home away from home. The sheets were worn pretty thin.
