    Very poor standard intercontinental hotel. We arrived late evening - no bell boys or concierge to assist with luggage. They allocated me a room that faced the air conditioning units. The wifi worked sporadically throughout the trip . Complained a few times and then just gave up . The gym is small and poorly equipped. Only one restaurant where we had a basic breakfast for $21. Holiday inn has free breakfast with a better selection. All in all. Would not recommend as its not a five star hotel

    We stayed in Tampa for one night at the InterContinental. Typically, this is a really nice hotel chain, so I was surprised. The rooms were good, beds were comfortable, but the pool area was awful. It's cool that it's rooftop, but it's tiny, the chairs around it are from the '80's and there was not much room. Another thing that was strange, was our hotel looked out into an office complex. This hotel was not for us.

    Just stayed for one night, but the service is killer (everyone wants to know what they can do to help you). Room was nice and I enjoyed the ambience of the hotel, very business travel friendly. Had drinks and dessert at Shula's bar and both were amazing...espresso martini (strong drinks!) and cheesecake.

    Highly-recommended hotel. About 15 minutes from the airport. Offers valet parking or spacious free parking garage behind/connect to the hotel. Rooms are usual high quality: clean and quiet. Large bathrooms. Steak restaurant, bar, coffee shop. Starbucks, gas station, and Panera's next door.

    We checked into the Intercontinental Hotel and was given a room right across from the elevator which was also a handicap room. Seeing I am a light sleeper, that room was not going to work.     Let me start by saying, if you have a disability, do not even attempt to stay at this hotel. A friend and I stayed here this past weekend for a National Blind Bowling Tournament. The prices were super high for everything, they did not provide a refrigerator for my medication when it was requested, the hotel staff were rude to us the entire time, you have to walk what seems like a half mile just to relieve your service dog, and they try to charge your credit card before you even check out.     My husband, daughter, her friend & I stayed here for two nights. It was ok, check in went quickly, but the desk clerk wasn't overly friendly - efficient but not friendly.     I had a presenter send me a last minute power point presentation. i asked Cindy at the front desk if they had a business center or if there was a Fedex/Kinkos close. Cindy asked me what I needed, gave me her e-mail address and asked me to e-mail her my slides and she would print the job. i went to dinner at the bar and when I finished Cindy had my copies ready to go!!!     The room is very small and not clean. There for pleasure to celebrate my retirement from the military. Informed management and was contacted after trip was over. The approach was in a manner of so what you want for free. Wow, all I wanted was a nice room and resolution to my concern while I was there .     This is a large hotel convenient to the airport. You may park your car at the hotel and take a shuttle to/from the airport. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We found you can get a better room price by calling the hotel directly and not using the web, Expedia etc. The hotel is clean, quiet and has a restaurant plus a casual bar for dining.

    Jess checked me in. Super sweet - she is a great first impression of hotel. After a long day of travel, I was exhausted and hungry.     The Staff was very helpful and friendly. As others have mentioned there is remodeling/construction work being done, however, I was not affected at all since my room was located on the 9th floor.     I stayed at this hotel for business and it was my first stay at this hotel brand. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of my rooms. Everything was top notch.     Great airport parking, indoors with an airport shuttle at reasonable rates. Make your reservations on line, no hassle. Shuttle starts at 5 a.m. It runs about every twenty minutes. Friendly staff.     Great relaxing getaway Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Small problem with the water being to hot. Cindy at the front desk had exceptional customer service and had someone to our room within minutes to fix the problem.Breakfast buffet was good Best pancakes in Tampa. Great service all around.

    Absolutely no personal service and the employees go through the motions of work as if guest were cargo in a transatlantic cargo liner. Parking is scarce valet is expensive. Not the Intercontinental experience at all. The hotel is close to airport and a huge shopping mall. It other than that it's not much of a differential from other business hotels.

    Hotel is very nice and the staff are quite helpful. The rooftop pool is great, and very clean except people do smoke out there which is unpleasant. We had drinks at the bar and the bar tender knew how to make proper drinks. The atmosphere is good for both family and business stays with several restaurants nearby.     Booked the Intercontinental for a conference in Tampa, which I was late organising, I usually stay at the Marriott Waterside, but it was full. The Intercontinental is a great hotel, the bar has just been refurbished and is much bigger and its lively and fun at nights. My first complaint is when I made my reservation six months before I requested a sweet and watering to pay more for the sweet. Upon checking in I have that information in my reservation.     I needed a central place with a good deal of space to live in for a month while away on business travel. The Tampa Intercontinental provided this well due to its central location between St Pete, Clearwater, and downtown Tampa. The complimentary parking structure attached to the hotel provided a good way to move around, as walk-ability is limited in the neighborhood.     The hotel is going under a major remodel and is a very nice hotel. With saying that, I was extremely disappointed with my room not being ready until 7 p.m. when I arrived at 4 p.m.. To top it off, the next day my room was not cleaned. Sounds like management needs to reevaluate their housekeeping staff!

    I really can't find anything bad to say about this place. It's a nice property in a nice neighborhood right across the street from a Mall and several restaurants in front and Starbucks across the street on the side.     I found this hotel for a last minute trip. It was given to me at a great rate. To my surprise, it was really nice and clean. The valet wasn't the nicest guy but the front desk made up for it. They were really helpful. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but it was nice. There's a Shula steakhouse in the lobby. There was construction going on in the hotel but we weren't bothered at all. If stay there again.

    Stayed at the intercontinental in Tampa for a last minute family emergency. They hotel was clean, had a beautiful room, and was located with easy access to Clearwater. Even with some small construction going on in the middle of the hotel, where Shula's steakhouse and the hotel connects with the business towers, there was little to no disruption.     Just stayed a night while visiting a friend in town. Rooms were very clean, everyone was very courteous. We had a business suite which had plenty of room for our friend and his friends to come and hang out while we got ready to go out for dinner. What we expected for what we paid.     Moved to this Hotel after an awful experience elsewhere. Outside of the price issues with using the app and the front desk person, we were pleased with the physical accommodations. We got what we expected from this level of Hotel. Hotel is in a great location right within a short walking distance to a major mall and many restaurants.     Stayed at this hotel. Had high expectations due to its "class"-- was actually disappointed. Was not anything special. Hotel apparently going through a renovation but did not upgrade things like electrical outlets or shower head. There was no "yes I can" attitude in this hotel just average. I expect more from Intercontinental I suppose.

    I've stayed here on average 30 nights per year for the last 5 years. While it's not over the top in service, it's always consistent for a business traveler. Rooms are decent. No outside noise. Dining services are expensive but service is good (including room service). And it's always a good value. I own the company and I make sure all my employees stay here too. We all endorse the experience.

    The hotel is convenient to the airport and restaurants and shopping across the street. Rooms were clean and well stocked (except no shower cap for my wife). First when I arrived it was about 630pm and they didn't have any rooms available so after waiting a bit I was given a room and was ready to unwind.     Boyfriend and I went there for a 2nights trip, the thing that attracted us the most is the amazing smell in the whole hotel, oh lord it smelled like a fresh spring perfume haha, everything was great but the one thing that shocked us is the swimming pool, unbelievably ugly and very small! With everything great at this hotel we expected something way better! Other than this everything was perfect, very polite and nice staff too.

    Stayed here for a business trip! Too bad they will not let a person purchase one of these more than gorgeous rooms! The staff went above and beyond.     We had a business meeting here for 2 days. The lobby is nice for socializing and is nicely decorated. Things that need improvement-the internet is very slow and very hard to connect to (both in the rooms and in the meeting space). The front desk staff are not very friendly or accommodating-no late check out. When you call the front desk from your room it will ring and ring a long time until you reach someone.     We spent the night here to be close to the airport for an early morning flight. Wonderful place to stay. The room was clean and well equipped with microwave mini fridge and coffee maker. The rooms are being renovated, so my experience was based on a fresh room.     My wife and I usually use the long term parking at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tampa. It is convenient to the airport and they provide a shuttle service.     Came down from st. Augustine Fl. For the Broncos spent two nights there. Lightning in bathroom was not working so they changed our room and gave us. $30 credit.     Came here from Jupiter during the hurricane, and from the time I got out of the car this was a wonderful experience..from the Valet to Front Desk to Housekeeping, they could not have been more accommodating.I was taken care of and felt extremely safe & protected.     Great location, free parking, excellent rooms, quiet, beautiful, with a business center inside and across PF Chang's, an Italian restaurant and a mall. I stayed at this hotel 3 times, the second time the TV wasn't working, they switched my room immediately and they gave me complimentary ticket for breakfast.

    What a difference a few years can make. I would not recommend the Intercontinental in Tampa. I have not been in Tampa for about 10 years. There has been an attempt to update the rooms but all I can say is the designer did not pull it off. As well, some of the amenities that you would expect are gone.     Was in Tampa on a business trip, decided to stay here because I wanted to see a different part of Tampa. Had been staying in a different location and wanted to see more of the city.     We were here for a long weekend stay visiting family and to take in the sights, our stay at the Intercontinental was amazing, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite, the bed was large and comfortable, the view from the room was spectacular.     Picked this hotel because it is close to the airport. When we pulled up, no one came out to help with our luggage, which is highly unusual for this hotel chain. Also, room was not ready when we checked in, which was fine, but all that was said was to check back later. Again, unusual for this hotel chain to not offer to call when the room is ready. Room was clean and modern. Not much of a view, no big deal. No complaints about the hotel itself, just the service was sub-par.

    Simple requirements when I travel for business. Here's what I got: 1. Fruit flies flying in our face during lunch. 2. A nice view into the office building next door when I opened up the shades in my room (it was so close I could read the screen of someone's computer in their office) 3.     Great area! I usually stay at the Grand Hyatt but on this trip I opted for a change. Good choice, modern hotel with amenities, beautiful, spacious rooms too. Staff was energized and attentive to all requests. Breakfast at Shula's was perfect. Would definitely stay here again.

    Pros: 1. Good location 2. Comfortable bed and linens 3. Comfortable room, good shower 4. Self parking convenient 5. OK price for what we got Cons: 1.     As many reviews state, this is a decent hotel, but by no means luxury, even though they try to act like it. On the up side, the location is good (across the street from a mall and a $6 Uber ride to the Soho bar/restaurant area), the rooms are clean, the employees are nice, and the parking is free.     The hotel was nice but a bit pricey. The location of the hotel was very convenient (it was Intercontinental when we visited), close to the mall and easy access to highway, Arrive to the hotel at 4 pm and our rooms was not ready. I did not understand how this was possible but the staff handle it quite nicely by giving as free drinks at the bar.     Stumbled onto this hotel while on business recently in Tampa. Apparently this hotel had just recently been changed from the Intercontinental to Starwood's brand. Seems to be a smooth transition and it's a very credible place to stay. Good location for my Tampa business needs. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Front desk check in could have been a little smoother, but maybe that's part of the growing pains. I'd return for sure.

    This was the Tampa Intercontinental for many years and only switched to the SPG/Marriott flag a week ago. The transition has not been seemless. The front desk check-in took longer than it should have and an awkward line forms in the lobby blocking elevator access. The overall feel of the property is very impersonal with no special touches.     I stayed here on business and would have preferred a closer proximity to the conference center, but this was a quick cab/uber ride. It's what I would have expected in this price range in regards to the rooms and building. Large, clean rooms with all the essentials.     Currently staying here and I am travelling from Europe and needed a power adaptor. The response from "guest services" was sorry, we loaned our last one out five days ago (no one immediately ordered more??).     Second time to stay 2 nights per stay in this hotel in the past 5 months. Both times multiple small issues with the room. I have another booking and will look for another hotel. Hotel in transition but the rooms looked the same although they said they were remodeled. No complaint with decor & bedding. Safe could not be programmed so engineering promptly came when I called.     I'm not sure why other reviewers are so upset. I stayed her a few weeks ago when it was still under the IHG flag. I thought the hotel was beautiful, clean, and modern. There are a few drawbacks: The pool is small and disappointing. The hotel is located on a busy corner, and it's a bit difficult/ frustrating to figure out where to go. The onsite restaurant is expensive (but there are a few chain restaurants within walking distance). All-in-all, if the price is right I would stay here again.

    I stayed here before when it was IHG and wasn't very impressed, but am loving the new renovation and management. The place is looking very fresh and modern, and the front desk staff are fantastic. Keep it up!! Also, you have to go to Shula's when you stay here, so convenient and delicious!

    Stayed here for a weekend trip with some friends. The hotel is frankly just a weird property. The main areas are fine and the bar area is good. The rooms are clean and decently decorated. The bathrooms are below par for the brand but not terrible. The pool is just silly. I don't really even understand it. It is small, there isn't really any deck area and no bar service.     The hotel itself is nice enough, but they charge for wireless internet unless you're a rewards member and book your room through one of their websites. So if you go through something like Expedia, you're looking at an extra $14 a day. Basically, they boast extensive amenities, but at an exorbitant price.     This was The Intercontinental until a few weeks before my stay. The first encounter was with a very rude valet attendant. He had no people skills and as the first impression of this property, it was not good. Parking is free, but difficult. The spaces are too narrow.
