I am originally from the Tampa area, in fact I grew up very close to this hotel. I knew the area wasn't like it used to be but the hotel was very close to where I needed to be. The staff was very friendly at check in and I had no problems with the process. I did arrive late and was traveling alone so I had to park in a not so well lit part of the parking lot. I was uncomfortable with this since the surrounding area has deteriorated quite a bit. I did feel like there should be some sort of se... Read more

I stayed here for work several times and it was pleasantly surprising. The rooms are in good condition and dont feel like they have been used by 1,000's of people. The breakfast is up to par, the location is fantastic for USF or Busch Gardens, and there is a restaurant right in front of the hotel which is nice.

We have stayed at this hotel before and the stay was good. Since that time, I noticed that the room is in need of an update, especially the bathroom area. New tile should be installed and the rug should be replaced. On a good note, the staff was helpful and the breakfast was very good.

This is a great place for a family with teenagers to stay!! We stayed 3 days. The breakfast was great. Each morning there were different items on the breakfast menu. Transportation to Busch Gardens was fantastic!! This saved us the $20 parking fee each day. The drivers were very prompt and courteous to pick us up.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a beautiful hotel, clean, friendly staff. Probably the largest room I have stayed at yet. Decorated beautifully, beds comfortable. Only complaints would be that there was no ice machine on our floor and that they were very busy and did not seem to be enough seating for the breakfast area. Overall we would definitely stay here again.

The room was very nice and it felt really clean. The elevator did not feel clean. Breakfast was horrible on both days, very low quality. I asked for towels and the lady at the front and instead of sending them to the room, she just kept me waiting there for like 15 minutes

The hotel room was spacious, quiet and clean. We spent three days day here with 2 adults and 2 teenagers with any real issues...just a lack of towels after house keeping cleaned, but that was remedied with a call to the front desk. The location was great and I'd recommend the hotel with out hesitation.

Okay, so my rating took a hit because out of all the Hyatt Places in the Tampa areas this one is probably the most centralized. However, they were repaving the the front parking lot and it was the oldest so he lobby area was not as pretty. The breakfast did not have as many choices as the one near Busch Gardens. But, I will say that the rooms are excellent! The front desk help was not as good as Busch Gardens but I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel. The Busch Gardens Hyatt had cookies and... Read more

The property is a Hyatt Place in a decent area. I had a king bed room on the sixth floor. The room was the standard Hyatt Place decor. You are not booking a high-end hotel, but a Hyatt place in the outskirts of Tampa near USF. There is a Wawa that is in walking distance, and plenty of mid-range restaurants in short driving distance (they have a free shuttle you can use). Anything higher end then you will need to drive out. I'm giving five starts because I am not comparing it to high-end hotels, ... Read more

This hotel isnt a place you should pick out for a family vacation spot. Therre really isnt anything around it at all- save for Bush Gardens. Now, if thats you plan, then good, book this place. But I can tell u this, its not winning rewards for its pool, or bar, or even how good the breakfast is. But.... The breakfast is free every morning, its in a decent location. If u have business in the area or like I said, want to hit Bush Gardens, this is a great place for the price.

I was here for a conference, was shown to my room on an early check in. The room was clean, spacious, had everything I needed. I liked the fact that as we came in after a long business day the staff greeted my group with a smile, and a "how was your day". It made us feel like we were coming home after a day at work. The bar menu had just enough choices to make me want to stay in and relax rather than get in my car and drive somewhere else after a long day.

I choose this hotel after reading it's good reviews and the distance it is from Busch gardens and adventure island. I was very happy with this hotel from front desk to the cleanliness of the room and good breakfast. Only issue was the AC leaked but it occurred on the night before we checked out the room didn't get hot so we put the trash bin to catch the water and told the front desk upon when we checked out. Our room was clean, we were happy with everything. Front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were limited, so we had to get a room with a sofa bed for our child. I was not wild about that at first, because most hotels neglect them and don't clean them properly, and they lack comfort, but all rooms were booked. So we crossed our fingers and checked thoroughly. Hyatt House proved to be a good choice for a three night stay in Tampa for the purpose of visiting Busch Gardens. It is less than 10 minutes and close to a very fun movie and dine theatre. The only drawback was being stuck there for dinner with few choices that included only microwave-type heat up food which was barely edible.

The Hyatt hotels are always a good bet for a nice room at a reasonable price. This one is no different, but my overall rating is lower than usual because this property is in real need for a facelift in the rooms and in the common areas. But, their complimentary breakfast was delicious as always, and the staff friendly and helpful. And you should note that they have a complimentary shuttle to nearby Busch Gardens. Also, the University of South Florida is nearby for parents visiting their chil... Read more

I was 'put up' here for business while in the area. I found the Hotel, room, grounds and complimentary breakfast to all be a great value. Location is pretty close to a lot of places to eat as well as right down the street from Busch Gardens (which I did not get to visit). I'd be ready to stay here again if the job calls for it.

After driving for a few hours from Fort Lauderdale, we got to the hotel and I was greeted by one of the friendliest staff members who checked me in. I do not recall her name but she went above and beyond all expectations. We were inquiring about places for dinner as well as traffic to Amalie Arena. We had been recommended an establishment by a friends family member which the hotel associate had never heard of (Cheddar's). She not only printed us directions from the hotel, but from that restauran... Read more

Overall an awesome place to stay. Very clean, nice staff, gas station next door if you need anything. Also there's a mall, restaurant and fitness gym in walking distance. Close to the major highway which was awesome so I could get to the beach, downtown etc.

The staff were all very nice and helpful. Our room was beautiful and very clean. This hotel is close to so many things, including Bush Gardens and Moffitt Cancer center at the University of South Florida. They will even take you up to 3 miles away free of charge! I will most certainly stay there next time I go to Tampa.

I think highly of Hyatt. This place should not represent Hyatt brand. I was disappointed because the facility needs some major repair work. One of the elevators was in and out of working order due to the door being malfunctioning. Other thing was the AC in the room was leaking and carpet was all wet and we had to more to another room. When we moved to another room, that room had humidity issue most likely due to AC problem. Anyway spent rwo nights there and got out of Tampa.

Came to Tampa for a football game with some friends. Have stayed at other Hyatt Places so it was an easy choice. This one was just under what I expected from Hyatt. The room was fairly clean. The location isn't the best. The Staff was very friendly. We usually enjoy there breakfast very much but this time it was just ok. The convenience is nice selection was good quality wasn't the best.

Good rooms, nicely decorated, clean, comfy bed. Friendly staff. Only complaint is the renovation work that is being done in the lobby which I was not aware when doing my reservation. Overall a good experience.

Very close to USF...very convenient location...friendly staff. Came for a softball tournament, and will be back. Have stayed elsewhere before, and this was a definite step up. Renovations will only make it better.

Nice quiet place to rest after a long day at the park! Rooms have a sitting area which are nice. RR was cramped and could use a pocket door as you have to stand in the shower to close the RR door due to the proximity of the toilet. Neighborhood was a little industry with some homes around but hotel is tucked in so you don't notice it until you leave or upon arrival. All in all a nice place to stay.

Do yourself a favor n pick another hotel. Elevators did not work properly. Perhaps it will improve after renovation, I would wait it out. The location is convenient to USF n Busch Gardens. Does not currently have much to offer in amenities.

This property is not new. It's obviously purchased from another chain and they added lip stick on the pig. Let's start with the old, LOUD air unit under the window, like old 1970's motels. No thermostat, just a blowing fan. Sounds like a train. Big room but wasted space. We have 2 double beds crammed into one side of the room divided from living room by a partial wall. Bed area is tiny and you can't get out of the beds on one of the sides because they about 8 inches from the walls and 6" from ... Read more

We booked this hotel as part of a bush Gardens vacation package. We spent two nights here. We took the shuttle to Busch Gardens which was very convenient. The rooms are nice size. The beds are a little bit small since they are only doubles but the pullout couch was nice as well. Sarah, the second shift front desk worker, was amazing! She got us connecting rooms with our friends and got us a late check out which let us stay at the hotel until it was time to leave for our flight. That was very muc... Read more
