This Doubletree is undergoing much needed renovations. The hotel is quite old - I remember walking by it when I was a student at FSU and thinking "what a beautiful hotel, it would be so nice to stay there." That was 32 years ago. The hotel has 15 floors and from my room on the ninth floor had a great view of the Capital. The front desk people were very nice and apologized for the construction going on in the lobby area. The clerk that helped me tried to put me in a room above the 10th floor bu... Read more

We've stayed at this hotel in the past and have always had a pleasant stay. This time, however, our room faces - and is only yards away from - the hotel's outdoor pool where a loud reception is taking place. The music is so loud we can't even drown it out with the TV. I called to request a different room but there are none available. The receptionist said the music 'should only go on till 11 p.m.,' but to call if they go on later and she'll tell them to 'turn it down a few decibels.' We were pla... Read more

Generally the hotel is reasonable. In summer time, for Japanese visitors it is recommended to have jacket and/or seater, because temperature is everywhere set too low, though this is not a problem of only this hotel.

Was here for a soccer tournament and have to say that the service is second to none. I arrived late and the staff was quick and literally handed me my room card. The cookies were perfection... I think the truck just pulled up with the delivery :) Unfortunately, there were issues with my room, that kept me awake most of the night. However, the staff more than made up for it with their understanding, new room with a great view of the park across the street and providing me with full service ... Read more

This hotel has spent money on a few common areas (think Frozen meets Beauty and the Beast). A problem exists with the bar, restaurant and rooms. These areas are in awful shape! The fact that this hotel sells out often, it is hard to understand why this hasn't been addressed! Rooms smell, are subpar in cleanliness. The pool is the best part of this hotel but it has "hours". Running adults out of pool area at 9 pm is ridiculous. Do more people drown at night than day? It isn't like they have a ... Read more

Just visited Tallahassee for my daughter's orientation. The Good: excellent staff and reception area, bed and pillows were comfortable, delicious cookies given at check in. The Bad: shower water pressure is terrible and the shower area needs remodeling, air conditioning is a wall unit so the bed next to the air is freezing, there is a $12 charge for parking. Room had two queens and was a comfortable size but the hotel is showing its age. Paid $95 per night not worth more than that.

Very elegant hotel in the center of Tallahassee. Rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. Hallways and lobby areas have been given an over the top design. Interesting interiors. This hotel has been remodeled in a funky way that artsy people will probably love and linear thinkers like me won't understand... but it is cool in an odd way. For example, in the lobby, they painted the old wood columns white and then partially sanded them so the wood shows through. There are bookshelves with an eccletic assortment of books to peruse. Definitely can tell it's an older hotel low ceilings...but possibly being totally remodeled. Daily Parking fee was a little steep $15 valet or $12 in garage... The hotel once again provided a classy, amenable and well staffed experience in the heart of Tallahassee and downtown. The rooms had been nicely upgraded and the Jacob's on the Plaza was a great meeting hanging out spot to catch up and enjoy great ambiance and good drinks and very good food- both in the bar and for dinner as well! The staff was friendly, helpful and very spot on - and the GM John KELLY oversaw everything to perfection- greeting guests as they arrived, making sure someone on staf... Read more

After driving all day coming from Miami to visit my son in Tallahassee, the last thing you want is to get to your room and theirs a problem. After being moved to another room in which we had a problem with our keys not working. Frustration was beginning to set in , but we then got saved by one of the DoubleTrees best ( Alex) she was great!!! She provided excellent service when the hotel didn't. Thank you Alex for making a stressful situation, tolerable.

Stayed for one night on business. Hotel is older but I could tell they were working to keep it refreshed. Good location with easy access to where I was going and nice small park across the street. Didn't find the hotel staff to be very friendly other than housekeeping staff. Would stay again in the future if business brings me back due to location and overall hotel.

I stay at the Doubletree Hotel Tallahassee often and did so as recent as this month. The reason I always stay at the Doubletree Hotel Tallahassee when I travel to Tallahassee is very simple...John Kelly and his Team are incredible and consistent. When you stay at this Hotel you are treated like family. Thank you DHT team and thank you to the Cookie King!!

My rooms furnishings were nice, but it was extremely damp inside. At first, I thought it was me as a result of coming into a cool room from the hot and humid outdoors. Later than evening upon returning from dinner, the bed linens felt moist to the touch. The following night after returning from being gone most of the day, it felt like a cold sauna in the room. Highly undesirable. The next morning, I woke early to shower and get out before an early flight and found no hot water in my room. ... Read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our night stay while traveling in the region. Tallahassee is a pretty city and this hotel is well located to enjoy it. The room was very nice and, as always, the staff and services were excellent. You will enjoy this hotel and its location. We were going to walk to one of the nearby restaurants, but did not find any place that we wanted to go to. We returned to the hotel and had a great dinner in the lounge.

Every year when my friends I return to Tallahassee, we pick this Doubletree. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the restaurant is really good. This year I needed special help. I reached out to manager, Johnathan L. After hearing me out, he took care of my potential problem. This kind of customer service will keep us coming back.

Our room was next to a bunch of rooms with young people, mostly males, visiting for a sports event or similar. They came back from partying in small groups between midnight and 2 am, making a lot of noise, talking for ages in the hallway, laughing and giggling. I told one lot to please be quiet, and they went to their room, but soon after another group would arrive. We kept being woken up.

We arrived at this Hilton property the day before Hurricane Matthew. Everyone was very friendly and helpful to us. We were able to stay beyond the original one night thanks for an awesome hotel manager. As a Hilton Honor member, I continue to have great things to say about Hiltons. This property is no different! And the onsite Starbucks and hotel restaurant were great as well!

We evacuated our home due to Hurricane Matthew and stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Despite every room being booked due to 3 weddings and many evacuees, the staff to express genuine concern to us on many occasions. They accommodated our requests for reservation extensions "just in case" we could not return home. The front desk staff, valets, housekeepers, and everyone else just could not have been kinder. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained.

Booked the room for a last minute stay because of Hurricane Matthew. Front desk lady very friendly but guest service lady on the phone not so much. Had problems with the room door not opening and after many tries they figured out the recent paint job was causing it to be stuck and the room smelt like paint. The walls are very thin so if you have noisy neighbors don't expect to sleep well.

The Doubletree is centrally located in downtown Tallahassee and walking distance to the Florida State University campus and Florida State Capital. The staff is friendly and the beds comfortable. The hotel is in serious need of an update. Paint is chipped, the popcorn on the ceilings is peeling and the room was not the cleanest. We will not be staying here again. This is not up to Hilton's standards!

Parking does cost here, but because of the time I got to the hotel and the time I was leaving I parked at extremely convenient street parking for free. Our group meets here annually and we've watched it transition from a simple typical Doubletree to an over the top oddity. The service is pleasant and the rooms are comfortable, so my rating is based primarily on those aspects.
