Loved the art deco style, decor, bathroom, beds were sooo comfy I didn't want to get up. Only drawback was snooty night clerk. The bathroom was luxuriously appointed. Nice big towels, fancy soap, shampoo, etc. Beautiful mural on the bedroom wall. Nice funky lobby and bar/restaurant and within walking distance anywhere you want to go downtown!

Not even sure where to start. I have stayed at other Indigo hotels and this one falls short. This is not a boutique hotel. The rooms and bathrooms make you feel like your in NYC they are so small. Two Luke warm showers with a shower head that was broken. $1.75 drip coffee that is free at Holiday Inn. The place needs a major overhaul. The check in staff was a bit clueless and no one around to help. When checking out the lady ask me how my stay was and I voiced each one of these concerns and no co... Read more

The Hotel location is very good to the beach and dock area. The hotel is a renovated old Hotel. Room service menu is very limited and not appealing. Walking distance to better restaurantes nearby. Down home local hotel atmosphere. Price is reasonable to the area. Room is small and needs better remodeling, no frig in the room, tv is small LCD. Bathroom is tiny. It is ok for a short business trip. Not ideal for families... Extra charge for parking of 12 USD per day.

Small older hotel in a good location only a couple of blocks from the waterfront. Looks good from the outside, excellent friendly valet service. Good decor in the lobby. Check-in ok but all reception staff seemed intent on avoiding any interactions with customers except when absolutely necessary. Room was ok, modern decor. Bathroom smallish but ok. Good Aveda toiletries. Shower ok. Clean enough but given humid beach location not all pristine, some rusted edges. AC worked well but seemed pretty l... Read more

Neat location. Good staff. Great reception area with welcoming bar in the evening but shut early and breakfast area. Nice outside area too. Rooms themselves were rather basic. Trying for something that didn't work perhaps.

I booked this hotel because of its uniqueness and location, but the room is a huge disappointment and not worth the rate I paid. I get that it's an old hotel and expect the quirks that come with that. But, this hotel has done a poor job of maintaining this historic property (at least judging by the room I had). The bathroom has moldy and stained grout, paint is chipped on the window frame and the blackout curtains are cracked along the edges. I'm surprised the cheap laminate flooring and plastic... Overall our family stay here was great. We had two rooms for a family of six. The hotel is 90 years old, is nicely remodelled, but in some ways shows it age. As expected for a building from the 1920s, the bathrooms are small but nicely redone, the hardwood floors were uneven in spots, and the rooms and stairwells had a mildew smell that necessitated running the AC continously. The lobby area was very nice. I enjoyed the excellent art and general layout. The exception was the restaurant/... Read more

We were visiting from RI for a friend's wedding at the end of April. The other hotel that offered a group rate was fully booked and quite a bit pricier so we made our reservations at Hotel Indigo. We arrived early and were able to check into one of the two guest rooms. The young girl at the front desk was friendly and welcoming and mentioned that the bride and groom had left gift bags for us. We found our way to our room on the second floor, through winding hallways with zebra-like wallpaper a... Read more

We loved this place. It is an old building with real character and the staff are particular friendly and laid back. Our room was quiet (except during the spectacular storms), cool, with quiet air conditioning and - a nice touch - a ceiling fan. There is a good bar on the ground floor with a full dinner menu. Breakfast is in the same place. It's all very friendly and won't break the bank.

Unfortunately to my first 30 minute experience. I was not happy and was ready for check out. Cons#1 Not located in safest part of town. Even though I used valet, the parking area was open. #2 If you have suitcase or cant use stairs, watch out. My room was on 2nd floor. Once on my floor, I went down a hallway, down 3 steps then down another hallway and up 3 steps. Already rolling a suitcase on carpet is difficult, this made it a nightmare. #3 Moisture issue. The room smelt moist, and the curta... Read more

One night in town and we picked this hotel because of its proximity to Vinoy Park. I was surprised with the age of the hotel but it was very well maintained. Room was small compared to modern hotels but it was fine. The staff was incredible, very polite and extremely professional. When I frist made this reservation about 8 months ago I was excited because it seamed to be a great place. Then I started seeing some less than favorable reviews. I found some to be true and others not. After staying here I found that this is not the hotel for me. I love the aged parts of the hotel and the old doors and elevator. The reception desk people were very helpful. Kind, courteous and want to make sure your stay is comfortable. Brittany helped us on where to eat. The hotel is a remodeled 1920's home. We had to be moved to a different room because of musty smell in our room which was causing us headaches. My boyfriend had the headache all night. The people working the hotel were lovely and very nice, but the logistical nightmares and perceived "abuse" of billing and other things were an outrage. The management sure knows how to make a guest wish they had booked elsewhere. I booked there because it was close to my work location and some days of leisure. I was so busy there was no time to try and find another hotel. This was my experience: 1. They overbilled me more than double than the agreed price and then argued with me and put me off ... The hotel is an old house in a very good location, within walking distance of the bay and its nice restaurants and shops. This is ideal. The hotel is well kept up and in good shape. We've stayed at other hotels in the Indigo chain (owned by Holiday Inn) and were excited about our stay in St. Pete. The location is just fabulous - only a few blocks from Beach Drive. Every staff member with whom we came in contact was terrific. The staff were great, the hotel no. The room smelled like damp mildew. The bathroom shelf/vanity, had all the finish peeling off, the beds are very uncomfortable. The bed linens are either so old or just dirty. The whole hotel needs a major overhaul. They have one luggage cart. The pool area needs to be condemned. If you like old mildew smelling uncomfortable hotels this is the place for you, if you like clean fresh and up to date hotel with comfortable beds DON'T stay here.

The Hotel Indigo is an older property that has been well-maintained, is clean pretty quiet and a great location. For the $$ you can't get a better walkable location in or near historic downtown. Be sure to specify any mobility issues as the elevator is quite slow, and there are one or two steps here and there, especially on the second floor. Nice restaurants nearby and close to most everything - would stay here again! Note that the only on-site parking is valet-only.
