"The staff was wonderful. Housekeeping exceptional. Poor management
We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Inn. Great Location. Recently remodeled rooms were beautiful. Ice machine not working the entire stay. One of the hot water heaters went out and 3 of us took tepid shower's for day and a half. Water was turned off by the pool so you could not rinse sand off from the beach before entering the hotel. The only compensation given was 2 days resort fees.
Wyndham needs to review its certification or the hotel need to implement better procedures to correct problems more quickly."

"The hotel was a pleasant surprise. They have everything to keep you comfortable, you do not need to leave the hotel. The hallways still have rugs, so it appears dated, but rooms are updated and beds are very comfortable. The staff is excellent and the location is within walking distance to action but perfect to relax and unwind! We really enjoyed our stay."

"Great hotel. As other reviewers noted, super clean and comfy beds, linens, and pillows. Staff was nice and ready to help. Really enjoyed the heated pool since the ocean was a bit on the chilly side this time of year. The hotel provided beach towels are a nice touch. The only con was the drain in the tub wouldn't drain fast enough. By the time you finish showering, you're ankle deep in water. Called to have maintenance fix it the first night there, and he came up promptly. However, there was only a marginal improvement when he was done--a minor inconvenience."

"Nice experience for my first Clearwater visit. I used to make fun of the snowbirds when I was young and living in south Florida. But now that I am a retiree I appreciate coming back to the beach in winter. The hotel was older but very clean and the rooms were updated nicely. No complaints!!"

"room was nice, beach was relaxing and the chairs were the most comfortable beach chairs ever, the pool was the perfect temperature. We were however not aware of the $18 dollar resort fee until our time of check in.. that should be more apparent when making the reservation. overall we had a great time. Parking was lacking at night when the hotel was full. Hotel staff admitting to parking in the small lot and making guests park across the street with fear of being towed was a bit of an annoyance."

"We had a wonderful time. The hotel was great! It was just off the beaten track, yet still accessible by foot to everything including Pier 60. The room was a good size, the king bed was firm and comfortable. We loved the beach facing balcony, the view was good (except for the rusted ships on the other side of the channel) and the private beach is a definite bonus. I like the separate make-up area from the bathroom so two people could get ready simultaneously. We didn't eat in the hotel as there was an iHop two doors up and no shortage of great restaurants in close proximity. I'd go back in a heartbeat."

"It was a very frustrating stay. As a guest you had to ask for everything such as room service menus, beach access, restaurant hours etc. It would be much easier if they had a folder in the room with this information readily available. When I did ask for something I was either told they didn't speak english or they acted like I was putting them out. I even checked out a day early."

"At this hotel I felt like a 2 year old, never been told you CAN'T so many times in my adult life. The beach is a joke. The $15 DAILY resort fee plus tax is nothing short of ridiculous, this place falls way below resort standards. The housekeepers were the most pleasant people there. BEWARE stay far away I am."

"The staff was very nice and the room was ok but the overall experience was very frustrating. It seemed like every piece of information about the hotel services had to be dragged out of the staff. No information about room service, beach access, restaurant hours etc. Each time I asked about something it seemed like I was bothering someone. Finally a room service menu was brought to the room and it was greasy and a mimeographed copy. There should be a packet in each room with the room service menu, TV channels, restaurant hours etc in it. I would not stay there again."

"This is a nice property...stayed here 2 times in the last 2 years. My only complaint is the resort fee of 15 dollars per day. You would think that they would allow you to use their lounges on the beach for that price, but you have to pay 25 dollars for that. Overall a very nice place with the best beds and pillows around. Their beds are VERY comfortable. Will stay again next year."

"The Wyndham Garden is an old property. However, the hotel is very well maintained. It does need some updating, but for the price paid to spend 5 nights it was worth it. Only 2 draw backs are the 15.00 DAILY Resort Fee imposed upon checkout and the 25.00 fee to use the hotel's beach lounger and umbrella. Considered picking up inexpensive beach chairs from Waldgreens across the street from the hotel.
WiFi worked fine and Rob in the restaurant/bar did a great job in handling our breakfast. The food was decently priced and well seasoned. There are several restaurants within walking distance from the Wyndham including an IHOP (sub-par service) next door. Saw dolphins once during our stay it was pretty amazing!"

"I agreed with the majority of the things that the internet ad states. The objections that I had was the private beach that stated the have, is not much of a beach at all! More like a creek, the san on the so called private beach was sad, the pool was not really something that you would want to just jump right into! If you don't mind that all else was GREAT!!! Great place to stay if you don't mind going to the public beaches which was AWESOME!"

"Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the view from the balcony was lovely. We saw dolphins on three different days (morning and evening) playing just off the private beach.
My family did experience a few issues with the hotel. First of all the patrons do have a private beach, however the only drinks or food allowed on the beach must come from the hotel restaraunt/bar. Also, there is a $15 resort fee charged each day. I thought this would cover a chair on the beach at least. Unfortunately, there is a $25 fee charged for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Finally, the night before we left my children came down with a rash after swimming in the pool. They had been swimming several times since we had been there (3 days) with no problems. However, on the last night all three of the them developed a blister like rash and were unable to enjoy the ocean the next day because the salt water irritated the rash. My husband asked the front desk and they stated they had not changed anything with the pool. I know this rash was a reaction to the pool because it wasn't there before they entered and once they exited they pool they had to immediately get into the shower to calm the itching. My husband had to walk across the street to get anti-itch lotion in the middle of the night. No one wanted to get into the pool after, they even avoided the pool at the hotel on the drive home."

"We would like to say first that your front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Also your beds were very comfortable.
However we were disappointed in the daily room restocking. We were offered coffee, water and the normal expected necessities, but that was only on the first day. Not once was our coffee and water restocked and after our room was cleaned we had to run down toilet paper. The beds were made very sloppy with sheets not tucked and hanging down the side. I could have done that much myself.
It was also very obvious that you were very understaffed around the pool /beach area and restaurant.
We will choose another location the next time."

"Front desk staff were very nice and accomodating. Room was lovely with a great gulf view looking down onto the pool. Shower could use some updating and the floors really needed some attentiion. My grandchildren walked around barefooted and their feet were filthy and had already had their bath. Private beach was nice but did not use because think the $25 fee for 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella was a bit much. There were quite a few of them and, with the cost of the room, think they should be on a first come basis. Didn't understand what the 'resort fee' was all about. Realize most of my review is rather negative but all in all felt we enjoyed our stay. Great location with the Walgreen and Gondolier Italian Restaurant across the street. Food was wonderful!! Would definitely stay there again should we be in the area."

En general el servicio es bueno. El hotel es de calidad estandar para estar en la playa. Cuenta con lavandería para los huespedes y es posible almorzar y comer en el restaurante o la playa. La ubicación del hotel es buena y está frente a la bahía. La única limitación es que la cantidad de estacionamientos es reducida, razón por la cual es conveniente llegar temprano en la noche. // The last week of April 2012, spent holidays with my family which had 2 rooms. The ocean view rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Overall the service is good. The standard quality hotel to stay at the beach. It has laundry for guests and you can have lunch and eat in the restaurant or the beach. The hotel location is good and bayfront. The only limitation is that the amount of parking is limited, why should arrive early at night."

"First off, the room itself was a nice room along with a very comfortable bed. The positives end there. It started with check-in. I arrived at the hotel around noon after traveling all morning. I was informed the room was not ready which I understand cause check-in was at 4pm. I tried back after lunch again and it sttill was not ready which was still not a problem because it was before 4. They did take my number and said they would call me if it was ready soon. Well we headed to the beach (not at the hotel). I checked the time, which happened to be just at 4, and didnt receive a call. I headed to the hotel and tried to check in around 4:15. They told me the room wasnt ready and when I asked why the sign behind him said 'check-in 4PM', I was told check-in starts at 4pm . I was floored by this response. I travel extensively and have never heard of this. Being extremely tired and a bit short tempered, I went to the bar for a drink. I was approached after 4:30, with no apology at that, and told my room was ready. Next, the following day we went to the beach at the hotel. It was small and private, which is not a bad thing at all. They had nice lounge chairs set up on the beach. I approached the cabana people and they informed me that there is a $25 fee to use 2 for the day. Seriously? After paying what I did for the room and resort fees on top of that they have the audacity to charge additional to use chairs. With the beach being small and the chairs set the way they are there is really no room to lay out on blankets. The pool is very small and busy cause Im assuming they were shocked at the charge for beach use. As for the cherry on top, there was a massive bug hanging out on my wall one afternoon. I have pics that I wish I could post. I called the front desk and they were there with-in a couple minutes. Needless to say, I loved Clearwater and extended my stay with another property of course. Being a Wyndham rewards member, they will receive my next email."

"Excellent location.. just a mile or so away from the 'main beach'. Walgreen is right across the street and close to a wonderful resturant across the street as well. We ate there twice. The staff ( bartender) were very friendly! The elevators were not working the night we arrived, however they were working the next day but extremly slow and small. The rooms were decent and the beds were comfortable. The gym was not much to brag about. 1 treadmill and a few weights, but the weather outside was perfect for a run/walk. ** My only complaint, you have to pay a resort fee ( that wasnt disclosed) of $15 tax per night. I'm not sure what I was paying for because it was not really a resort feel, more of a standard hotel and I ended up paying an addtl $80 for the stay. Didnt appreciate the hidden cost and certainly didnt think there was anything spectacular I was recieving for a so called resort fee."

"We had a fantastic time in Clearwater this week. I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel. I was a little nervous when booking because their price was cheaper than everyone else we had looked into, and usually you get what you pay for so I didn't have high expectations. Boy, was I wrong! The hotel was very clean, the rooms look to be recently renovated and the beds were quite comfortable. The only complaint I would say we had was that the gym was being renovated and neither of the treadmills worked. But the weather was gorgeous the entire time so running outside was not a problem. So, it isn't really a compaint. Our overall experience was fantastic and I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend."

"Excellent hotel, location, service and the private beach is ideal for simply 'rolling' out of the hotel and straight on to the ocean.
We had an ocean view room - great views esp with the balcony - we'd certainly recommend that option.
The Gondolier restaurant across the street is everything you need for quality food and great service too...Walgreens as well!!

"The Wyndham Garden at Clearwater Beach is tucked away from the maddening crowd on South Beach with its own little private beach area with a little bar area outside.....very cozy and intimate setting. You are only a couple minutes to Pier 60 and Roundabout and free access to Sand Key which is another great area.
