"I was looking for a beach vacation with pools and tiki bars right on a private beach. Sirata Beach Resort met all my expectations! We had breakfast in the Compass Grill, lunch at Harry's Bar and dinner at Rum Runners. We loved the entertainment, even on weekday evenings. We met lots of people and had a great time sitting around the fire pit. Everyone on the staff was friendly. The room was clean and large. I only wish we could have stayed for longer than 2 nights. Even with the short stay and one cool, cloudy day, it was just what I hoped for. "

"Resort was beautiful and very clean. From the moment my friend and I arrived, we were met with the staff who took our bags and did everything to ensure we could check in before the 4pm check in time. Restaurants were somewhat expensive, but the drinks were amazing. Unfortunately, we booked during a windstorm and had to find other means to keep ourselves entertained. The concierge, although pleasant, recommended we take the Central Avenue Trolley to Downtown Petersburg to go sightseeing vs. the Suncoast Beach Trolley, which we inquired about. She sent us walking up about 1/2 mile to catch it and based on her recommendation, took the Central Ave. Trolley. We went through a sketchy area before the ride finished at the Pier in St. Petersburg. Nothing to do, just run-of-the-mill souvenier shops inside. When we returned, she asked why we hadn't taken the Beach Trolley to St. John's Pass instead and also saw a trolley stop directly across the st. from the resort. Not complaining that it was a far walk, however how do you not know that there is a stop in front of the resort? Other than that, pretty nice place to get away for a few days."

"Beach location is beautiful. Beach is wide but is hard since is artificially maintained. Hotel is older but refurbished. King size bed very comfortable but pillows too thin. Sleeper sofa comfortable but stunk like vomit. Staff said it was new and was the sealant that smelled. Replaced couch next day with one that didn't smell. Old bathtub was covered in new plastic that looked nice but didn't fit so while showering flexed and made loud noise. Very annoying! I really liked the soap they provided. Pool and bar areas nice and had good live music. Good bar food but beer selection not very good as there were no microbrews. Breakfast at the restaurant was good but nothing special. Staff friendly and fairly quickly brought us extra sheets when asked. Several good restaurants and liquor store and grocery store very close. Charge $8 extra per night parking and also charge extra for wifi. When they say 'courtyard view' it really means parking lot between 2 buildings."

"The Sirata was a marvellous get-a-way from Toronto's cold. We enjoyed the facilities, the location, & the extremely hospitable staff. The lady at the Compass Grille was most accommodating & helpful. She was helpful as our server and also gave us advice that was useful for first time visitors to St Pete Beach. There are other restaurants within walking distance as well. There was lots of parking & we were able to access free WiFI at many locations in the area - however there is a free computer provided for guests to print out airline tickets, etc. Ours was a very positive experience.

"We had a wonderful weekend get a way! The resort was really nice. Loved the live bands by the pool. The only complaints I have are, the water pressure is really bad, it kept going from freezing to really hot. And they need to upgrade their pillows, they have such nice beds and then they have 4 really thin pillows that are so uncomfortable and old. I would love to see them have some nice fluffy pillows. Also their bartenders at Rum Runners weren't very attentive. A good bartender scans the bar all the time and never lets a patron wait so long that they give up a walk away like I did. The wait staff at Compass Restaurant were very accommodating to my gluten free allergy. Thank you!! I wish the hotel had more gluten free choices though.
Other then that, We had a wonderful weekend!! We would definitely come back!!"

"This is my family's 2nd time at the Sirata, both times with the same type of room - gulf view with a kitchenette. This time, the first room they showed me looked like it had not been vacuumed, but was kindly switched to a similar, cleaner room with higher ceilings giving the place a more spacious feel. Positive stuff - lots to do with well maintained pools (love the choice), hot tub, cabanas, wonderful beach, and on-site water activities, really nice concierge. Downside - $10/day wifi (come on!), rooms are getting a little shabby, and morning coffee is elusive. Their big restaurant, the Compass Grill, was empty both times we wanted to eat dinner, and was not open before 8am, causing us to walk to IHOP for morning coffee. Lastly, most of the gulf view rooms actually look over a giant, low roof spoiling an otherwise gorgeous view."

"The room was nice and clean,, only problem I saw a large cock roach and showed in cold water. I reproted the roach to the front desk and they thought it was funny,.I was furious The $8.00 for parking and the paying for wi-fi stinks!.
i will not recommend to my friends, until changes are made."

"Was told the room I bought online and paid for in full wasn't available, said they upgraded me to an ocean front but was truly not an upgrade after trying to show me a king bayview I told them I wanted what I had paid for which was a king suite with gulfview. After going back and forth from building to building I was finally given a room that I had paid for but for only 2 days and then had to be moved the third day to another room because that room was designated to be cleaned on the third day. So to say it was a positive experience no."

"Absolutely loved the Resort! I plan on staying here again in the future. Rooms were clean and nice. Bathrooms were a little outdated, but still very clean. Staff was extremely friendly. Three awesome pools! Music by the pools which was a plus! Eating places at the resort were good and reasonable. Tons of eating places, bars, and shops within walking distance. Two local bars with cheap beer in walking distance. Two beach bars with live music daily in walking distance. Free taxi rides if needed anywhere on the strip."

"The photos are very misleading. The grounds outside were really nice. But the rooms were very outdated, dirty, the carpet from frayed. the tub was very old and discolored. The tv's picture was fuzzy--just not a good experience, except for the staff was great. We had tiny ants running around our kitchen area."

"the rooms need renovating, but we had so much fun that the brown carpet didn't bother us. We had a room in the 400 building which was ideal for us because we booked so late all the ocean view rooms were taken. The bartender was wonderful and catered to our every need. The pools were clean. There were plenty of chairs and cabanas on the beautiful beach. Live entertainment on Friday was wonderful. The fire pit was a plus. The food was very good especially the garlic shrimp....have it for lunch! The staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend it......we didn't see any roaches!! We also had breackfast at the Compass Grille and our waitress was awesome. The hotel itself is in an excellent location."

"This really was the perfect spot for our family vacation. We really liked having the option to sun at the beach or the pool. There are restaurants and bars right at the pool which is convenient. There are alot of extra expensives that you might not be aware of like $8 parking per night. And fees to use cabanas. The rooms aren't spectacular. The beds are very uncomfortable. But I felt like we were paying for the convenience of being right on the beach. We had a beautiful view. I wish the maid service had been a little better. I don't think they cleaned our toilet the whole week. We didn't try the food, however it looked yummy, a little pricey but comparable to the places around. I would stay here again. We got exactly what we wanted: a hotel on the beach for 5 people, pools, and a beautiful view."

"Beautiful and friendly place .Housekeeper was great. I strongly recommend getting a room with a balcony over looking the pool and u can listen to the music every night from Harry' beach bar and watch the wonderfull sunset.enjoyed Tad on weds night."
