Rooms are average but when you are that close to the beach what do you really need. Window air conditioner was noisy and take your own pillows if possible. It is a very short walk to the beach and the bar and grill was very nice. Good food, good drinks, and good music!

The best part of this place is the staff. They were awesome. From the parking lot guard, to the front desk staff to the awesome maintaince man, Robert. He helped us at every turn and super friendly. We appreciated it so much. Even the folks that ran Jimmy's bar were very nice always. The location of this hotel was perfectly located close to the beach. There was ample rental chairs available which was nice not having to lug everything to the beach. Walking distance to a 711, gift shop and break... Read more

Check in was fast and friendly. Colleen at the front desk was great and she gave me some ideas to make my short stay great. Rooms are very nice and very clean. I stayed on the 2nd floor closer to the beach and didn't hear much noise. Grounds are well kept and the pool area is great. Very clean resort and a good value. I will definitely return

Nice hotel, reserved at a very good rate. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. For the amount you may have to pay to be on the beach, this was the best compromise, with adequate accommodations all around and not having to pay too much $.

I stayed with my family for 3 days at the hotel. It's an old hotel, partially renewed. Overall is good. There is no elevator, so if you travel with kids, or have many bagages, ask for a room in the first floor. All rooms look into the garden, which is nice. The pool is ok. There is a bar between the pool and the beach, so you cannot see the beach from the pool. The bar attracts a lot of people until midnight but rooms are quiet. Umbrella and two chairs in the beach are rented for 30 US$ a day. N... Read more

The Beachcomber is in a great location. Rooms were clean but could use a little more updating. We had a leaky roof our last night during severe storm. The beach bar was the best. Live band every night, good food and a free shooter at sunset. Pools were well maintained and not crowded while we were there. There was a incident at motel one morning that required police but it wasn't motels fault and they seemed to remedied quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We drove down from Orlando for a day here in October and didn't have anything booked. We drove down the strip and this looked nice so parked up and popped in. The receptionist was more than helpful and very enthusiastic. We were only staying for the night and as it happened, she had a room which was being currently being cleaned which we could have, She continued to say it was the best room in the whole hotel - win - and that it was the only room with a balcony that you could see the sea. I live near by and had a crazy day at the beach and decided to stay (instead of drive home). This is a very average hotel with the standard 2 double beds and private bath. It was clean and I felt safe. The bathroom was a little old and needed some love but otherwise, it was worth the money spent. It's a fun place to stay and in the perfect spot to enjoy some night life! I like watching bands at Jimmy B's and the food there is really good for pub fare! I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here two years ago and for the money thought the accommodation was basic but clean. We decided to stay here again in May 2016 and was disappointed to see there had been no renovation since we last visited so this hotel is now in dire need of work to the bathrooms and kitchens. Our toilet had black mould all under the rim, I don't think it has ever been probably cleaned. Another issue, on this stay was the smoking round the pool and in covered areas of the beach bar. It was non-stop... Read more

We had a garden view room and it was perfect! Couldn't hear anything with the door closed, so very peaceful and private feel. Once outside the room you can see the beach bar and hear the live band. Every band did a good job and the staff was awesome!

We chose the Beachcomber because my fiance (at the time, hubby now) has been going to Jimmy B's for YEARS and was a big fan of their beach bars at Jimmy B's. When we decided to get married in St. Pete, it was a no-brainer that we would stay at the Beachcomber. We married at the sister resort, Grand Plaza and all our guests and wedding party stayed at the Beachcomber. I will not discuss all the particulars of our complaints because the manager did properly address the wrongs we experienced but I ... Read more

This hotel is in a beautiful location on St Pete beach, we holidayed for 4 nights with our 3 young children. Our room was clean and it was good to have a separate kitchenette. They had clearly tried to update the room recently but the bathroom needed more attention. We were on the first floor and could not hear the band at Jimmy B's. I found reception staff very helpful and friendly and Jimmy B's was a great bar with nice food. The beach was lovely and clean, the waters crystal clear and warm... Read more

The rooms need renovations...room smelt musty...bathroom needs updating and found bugs in the tub...customer service at the front desk needs some work...they seemed to be bother doing their job! Simple questions seemed to annoy them! The best part of the stay was the 2 bars and the bands!! Kevin was excellent and his customer service was OUTSTANDING!!

The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. My wife and I were there for a few days at the end of June. The rooms were not the nicest, despite the efforts of the staff to make it right, we did leave before the second night. Next time, maybe the management will take us seriously when we tell them an issue exists. We reported the issue at 9am; and we left at 10pm after it was not resolved. I want to thank the staff for refunding the charges for the second night w... Read more

We spent a nice weekend at this Hotel. We met the manager there very nice but the women at the front desk were behaving very nicely when their boss came in. I was not feeling comfortable but Colleen gave me the room but to our surprises it was a little difficult climbing those stairs.. It would be nice if you have elevators for the older ones. This is a very nice and very clean hotel. It was well swept and well mopped. Our room is so clean and the bed we slept on was very comfortable. Thank you... Read more

The property is nice, the room itself is outdated. The pools are great, they have a game room which all the games are free if you purchase something. Fantastic restaurant called Jimmie Bs. The most friendly staff was Steve from the restaurant, they provide pool towels and floats for the kids. The pool closes at 11 p.m and the restaurant is voted number one bar.

I stayed here recently with my mom and aunt for a girls get away. The room was very clean and a great location on a beach. Loved the live music daily. Wasn't crazy about the food choices but then again it is a bar not a full restaurant . They have one large pool and another smaller one in the courtyard area. Somewhat of an older hotel but, it had everything we needed and again was clean.

As soon as we pulled up- the parking guy greeted & welcomed us to start off our stay on a positive note! We arrived a little after 12:00noon and they had rooms ready for us! I was with family so they were gracious enough to put us near eachother without us even asking! The 2 staff & Sabrina working the desk were super nice & accomodating to our every need. The room was super clean, huge walk- in closet was awesome, & bed/ linens were comfy! I am a local & have stayed here several times & highly ... Read more

We recently stayed here for one night when the A/C stopped working at our beach rental. It was close to midnight when we checked in and the staff was very accommodating and gave us a great rate on a room that would have otherwise been vacant for the night. The room itself was pretty average and the bathroom was far from impressive but we were able to sleep five people in one room for under a hundred bucks so I was pleased. We got in very late so didn't see any of the hotel other than the lobby a... Read more

We got to the place around 230p knowing 4p was checkin, which was the time we could get in, no wiggle room. The "beachside" room (they only have 4) was actually beach "view". The bar took up the whole beach front of the hotel..parking is horrendous. If you don't get a spot out front, you either back into your spot or back out of a very long driveway. Truthfully, I don't know what the other side looked like, just where our room was. We did have an incident where our room door was left op... Read more

I think that overall, our experience was good. This is a lower-priced hotel for St. Pete Beach, and I gave it 4 stars based on the fact that it is a budget-friendly place. So, for the money that you spend, it's pretty great! I loved having a kitchen to cook in. (food allergies can make travel difficult!) The best think about this place is the grounds. It's really beautiful! We did not use the pool, so I can't comment about that. The worst thing about this place was having to walk "the gauntlet... Read more

I stayed at the Beachcomber for about a week and a half less than a month ago. I found this place on TripAdvisor and read other reviews, checked out the price and decided to give it a shot. At first I only booked a couple days just to check things out. Then I went back down stairs and extended my stay for at least another week. I couldn't have been happier with the way I was treated from time of check in to my every encounter with the staff there. Christina and Ava were especially accommodating ... Read more

We've been coming here for 8 years, and have always loved the motel. Great bar staff, great pools, great location , great bands, great spot in the beautiful beach. Where this place has lost us as guests is the front desk personnel . We arrived early from NY, of course, at 12 noon, they tell us the guest staying in our room has a late check out-3 pm. Really? Ok. So we go to look at two room types that are/ will be available . Some as last time , the cleaning staff says they'll be finished in 20 m... Read more

I was at the Beachcomber for 5 days last week. The room was clean and I got an added bonus of a kitchenette! (something I had not booked). The grounds are well manicured and most of the staff were friendly. This motel is in an excellent location. Directly across from the 7-11, many restaurants and stores. Walking distance to Skidders, McNastys Bar and a Greek deli. Publix, Dollar Tree and CVS are a few blocks away. However, with the intense humidity, a walk to the latter places would be unbearab... beautiful garden and pool area. loved having jimmys beach bar there bc we were tired from diving that day, we didnt have to get out. needs better signs for parking, its a strange parking lot bc you park on both sides, so if you had a big vehicle you couldnt park on the side, i guess you would park up front. our room was old looking, but it was good to sleep in. closet smelled sour like water damage, so we couldnt keep our clothes in there but that was fine.

I'm only staying for one day/night but it has exceeded my expectations. We arrived earlier than "check in" but the staff was very accommodating. We parked on site and went to the beach with provided towels. The front desk staff called our cell #when the room was ready. The room was located on the first floor near the smaller pool. Perfect location. The beach bar had live music and great drinks. No complaints at all.

Rented 3 rooms last weekend for 3 families with kids age 2-13. All of them had an amazing time. Loved the resort; hotel staff were lovely, went above and beyond. Only complaint was the beach bar/restaurant would not allow us to book a table in advance and did not want to help us find a table for 10, even though we had cupcakes in hand to celebrate my daughters birthday. That said it was a busy Saturday night and they were busy. Went in Monday night and the food and view was awesome. Would stay h... Read more

Stayed here with a group of guys in our 30s and had a great time. Having a fun bar with lively music every night at the beach end of the hotel was an added plus. The rooms are basic, nothing special but if you are looking to spend most of your time away from your room it doesn't matter. I did love that there was outdoor seating right outside your room where we could hang out and enjoy the weather. I would recommend this hotel for a group of friends or couple, but I wouldn't take my family there.... Read more
