We have been visiting Sanibel Island, Florida for the last 20 years. We found the Song of the Sea years ago and have been going back every year since. Location is great as you are just a view steps away from the beach. Bike rental, breakfast and beach chairs and umbrellas are included with price. I would never go during peak season as the rates are very high and the rooms just don't measure up to price. I am hopeful that some upgrades will be made soon. Flooring needs to be deep cleaned to... What an experience! We are many times visited in Sanibel, but always stays on Fort Myers, because hotels prices are much lower. This time we came to island and it was fantastic experience. Song of the sea is easy to found. The rooms are not value of the money, but the resort is. Breakfast was very good with fresh berries etc. Beach is wonderful and it's next to hotel. From next hotel (Sanibel Inn) you can rent for free paddleboards, tennis rackets etc. Pool area is really nice and it was gre... Read more

Song of the Sea was wonderful! Just what we were looking for...relaxing, casual and friendly. The continental breakfast every morning was a wonderful surprise....everything you could want for breakfast...no hot eggs but fresh hot make your self waffles were my favorite. The beach was great...the staff so helpful with paddle boards and kayaks...they were there to always help. The resort had bicycle's that we used several times a day...I can't say enough how nice the experience was for us. The roo... Read more

We stayed here after 2 weeks touring the southern states. It was just what we needed for a relaxing few days. The apartment was huge with 2 big beds and a small kitchen with everything we needed. The gardens were well kept and it was right next to the sea.The hotel has bbq stations which we made use of. The balconies are all bug screened . The sun beds on the beach are all free to use and there is also a lovely heated pool iv hou want to avoid the sand. Our balcony faced west so lovely for the ... Read more

Positives: Let me first start off by saying that the grounds are very well kept. The location of the hotel is great. The beach is great, and the pool is very nice. They do provide free bikes, kayaks and paddle boards to use which is also nice. The free breakfast is good....simple, yet sufficient. The staff was nice as well. Negatives: The rooms are outdated, not very clean, and not worth the money spent. Upon entering, there was visible sand and dirt on the already dirty tile floor. I unders... Read more

We have been coming to Sanibel and Song of the Sea for about 10 years. We love this hotel. Quaint, quiet and feels like old Florida. We like the changes the new owners have made including new umbrellas, wake boards, and kayaks. Although we don't use the stove (because I am not cooking on vacation), we do enjoy the full size fridge and dishes. The free breakfast is outstanding and always fresh. The bikes are in good shape and a bonus. I will say I wish they could put more chairs and umbrellas ... Read more

This was the 4th time we have stayed at Song of the Sea. Before we arrived I called to see if we could get an early check-in. Called when we arrived on the island and checked in early. The room was spotless and as requested we had a bottle of white wine. Each day breakfast was excellent. We rode "new" bikes, always had clean towels for the beach and each afternoon had freshly baked cookies! Housekeeping services were flawless, we left in the morning to go to the beach and returned to make lunch ... Read more

Our room was on the second floor over looking the pool. The room was neat and clean..could use a little updating...our door had plastic tape on the edges to keep the bugs out! Overall it was convenient and the breakfast was great! Our boys loved how close the beach was!

My husband and I stood at their sister Inn, The Sanibel Inn last year and this year The Song of The Sea... They are both Great holiday places to stay, but I have to stay for us we love Song of The Sea best..It is a very intimate place to be when you have an extremely hectic life and you just need to chill out. My husband and I stood for 9 days and next year will be for 10 days. What can I say, the rooms were spotless everyday, my husband loved the breakfast, ( I only drink coffee in the am), and... Wow! This was just what we needed and were looking for. Quiet, Peaceful and Relaxing. What a beautiful property! Charming hotel. Staff was awesome. Included breakfast was nice with basic continental style items: pastries, bagels, cereal, waffles, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, juices and everything was fresh and nicely displayed. Enjoyed our breakfast on the patio tables outside of the lobby. Room was somewhat outdated but sooooo charming, clean, efficient and comfortable. Nice kitchenett... Read more

We loved this Inn! it was quiet and peaceful and charming. Just what we needed to get away from it all. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Beach umbrellas and chairs on the beach, bicycles, kayaking, paddle boards were included at no extra charge. The room was clean and comfortable with an extra sleep sofa. Extra shades in the room for sleeping in late. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the patio outside the lobby. The grounds were well kept. We had a wonderful stay and p... Read more

So convenient to the beach. Quiet atmosphere with hardly anyone in the pool area. Paddle-board rentals were fun an easy to get from next door. All the staff was pleasant and attentive. One staff member -- the one setting up the chairs for the next door resort -- even gave us a quick lesson on paddle-boarding. Really made our day to have someone so helpful! I also forgot our pack-n-play for our little one, and they provided one quickly and free of charge! The breakfast was very nice with fres... Read more

We love Sanibel and Captiva islands in Florida. This was our second trip and we were able to stay longer this time (four days). Sanibel is one of those quiet, lazy beach towns with not a lot of big brand businesses and shops to clutter up the scenic views and roads. It's very laid back and the residents there enjoy their quaint community with it's beachy charm. Visitors are welcome for sure, but they are not catered to like some beach communities. Case in point, there are no 4 or 5 star r... Read more

My wife wanted to visit Sanibel Island for a couple of days, so I turned to TripAdvisor to find a nice, quaint, boutique-type property. After some evaluation steps, I finally settled on Song of the Sea. Based on most TA reviews, this sounded like a nice place and it fit our general requirements. I'm glad to say that Song of the Seas met our expectations and turned out to be a great place to stay. Check in was prompt even though we had arrived early. We did, however, have to wait about 90 ...
