"Had a great time in Florida! My husband and I took a late honeymoon and spend our days at the Luau #2. We had a first floor room and since they were overbooked, we decided that the first floor was fine. Our balcony happened to still be located on the second story which gave a better view. The resort is absolutely gorgeous. We took advantage of all the free amenities such as bike riding, kayaking, and canoeing. The only thing I would recommend is to run the cold water for a while before turning on the hot water. If not, it will stink your whole room as though you boiled some eggs! The pool was rather warm and that was a plus because the beach water was very cold. We took advantage of the 3 hour cruise on the Solaris which is nice if you never been on a boat. We absolutely loved our stay at the Luau and hopefully will come back soon!"

"My husband and I stayed in the Luau was very nice but I was quite upset when I was charge $105 'resort fee' on top of the $199 a night. I did not see that when booking this hotel or I would not have stayed there."

"What a wonderful weekend away! Just wish it was more affordable in the peak season when we could return for a longer stay with the rest of the family. October is the best time anyway when the out of town tourist aren't here.

"Stayed at LUAU #2 on first floor for 6 nights (3rd night free). The Sandestin Resort is absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect. Enjoyed our tram ride and visit to the Bayside Wharf North of Hwy 98 on the Sandestin property as well. Upon entering in the room my wife detected thick dust on the ceiling fan and on the intake vent of the air conditioner.One could tell by the accumulation that it had been there for at least a few months. Also under the sink where the extra towels were and under the beds there was a lot of dust. I'm not trying to be picky but we couldn't use the ceiling fan the whole time we were there. We reported it to a housekeeping lady and a front desk clerk but nothing was ever done. I was quite surprised that a place of this caliber was not as kept as it should have been. The landscaping, pools, beaches, etc. were fabulous. (Pool water was too cold this time of year is to be expected; ocean temperature is still good) Dinner at Seagar's at the Sandestin Hilton was pricey but expected for a four star restaurant. Overall, I would recommend this place but keep in mind higher floored rooms on the corners have better views and do a thorough dust inspection before bringing your gear to a room."

"My husband and I had a nice 3 day weekend at the Luau in Sandestin. After I booked the 1 bedroom condo, I began to worry about the proximity to the beach and the view. I called Bookit.com to make sure we were on a high floor beachside. I was put on hold while the agent called the Luau representitive and was informed that my request could not be guaranteed. However, the agent at Bookit.com was able to give me more information than what appeared on the Internet. In addition, we DID get a wonderful beachview room on the fourth floor from the top of the building--BEAUTIFUL. It was a great mini vacation, and Bookit.com was patient and helpful. PS They are NOT paying me for this either."

"The first room was smokey, then after another room move we found the perfect place. It was in the older building of beachside two. A great stay and we will return also the staff was great!"

"Absolutely gorgeous, can't wait to go back. Everything at the resort was pristine and Destin is so beautiful. Condo was great, enough room for a family of 4. Only surprise was the $70 cleaning and resort fee because we booked through 3rd party website. Still worth it!"

"Other than a the Storms, The stay was great. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Bring some extra towels, those are limited, I guess. Pool fabulous.

Traveled with 3 other families and we all would like to return; but not during hurricane season."
