"Very disappointed. This was our 3rd trip to the Postcard Inn - the first in 2008, then 2011 and now March 2013. It was clear there had been a change in management. Our first two visits were great, however this time we noticed a big difference in atmosphere and amenities. Dirty hallways, weeds in the plant beds in front of the rooms, broken flower pots, no longer small refrigerators in the rooms, no longer complimentary breakfast, same music over and over at the pool, fire pit not working. Since we had been there before, the rooms were not a surprise to us - however, we did pay considerably more for them than in the past. To top it off, approximately 95% of the rooms were occupied by high school lacrosse players in town for a camp. It is no longer a 'groovy' day at the Postcard Inn - they need to stop answering the phone that way."

"My husband and I was told about St. Pete Beach and Postcard Inn and thought we would check it out. The pictures online show a newly renovated and comfortable motel, but it was the compete opposite. The rooms had terrible carpet, the bathrooms were very small and looked stuck in the 70's. To make it ALL worse, I found 3 COCKROACHES in our room and a huge spider. Also, the sound proofing in the walls was non-existant. We could hear conversations from other rooms next to us, any time someone walked passed our room, it was overly evident. Thus, making us feel like we had NO privacy.
The staff was somewhat helpful. The first night we were there, we called and complained but there was little they could do till the manager came in the next day. So, we called the next day and they did give us a credit for food and moved us to another room and said they would comp us.
However, after our trip, we ended up getting charged that $50 on our card and the last night that was suppose to be comped, hasn't yet and now I have to try to get it figured out.
I will NEVER go back and will make sure NO ONE I know will go there."

"It was alright, just really plan about your stay. If it rains, this hotel really isnt much. Expensive restaurant, no microwave in room except for all the way in the lobby, no fridge also as said when contacted over the phone. Fire pit wasnt working and their pool table and ping pong table are outside, so if it rains can't really use that also. The only thing to do if it rains is just hang out at the bar unless its really windy. The bartenders were really great! Super generous with their drinks and fun to talk with. Great place if you have a pet cause they are pet friendly. Just if it rains, you are just draining your money down for a bed and tv. Water was not hot and the pool wasn't that heated. I would definitely go back during the summer or spring, but not a great choice at all for a Valentines get away."

"Got a great rate on the room when I was in town for business. You get what you pay for. It was one of the rooms on the parking lot - with fights breaking out outside my door, thin walls, a herd of children running back and forth all night and a couple deciding to have sex next door at 4 AM. Cute place, colorful though outdated decor and probably great if you're in town for spring break. Otherwise - stay clear - unless for some reason you don't value your sleep."

"We loved it! The staff was very courteous and efficient. The housekeepers were excellent as well. the rooms are motel like. However, I love the surfer chic feel of the place. It's definitely more of a party hotel. If you want kid friendly go to Tradewinds a few doors down. It was perfect for my girlfriend and I who were there to relax and go on a few beach pub crawls. We stayed for 5 nights and didn't realize how thin the walls were until the weekend when we got neighbors. I think it's just the connecting door that you hear all the sound through. If that was insulated I think it would make a major difference. The pool was stunning, the bar was awesome, and the beach was incredible. Will definitely come back!"

"While the hotel is surfer cool and kitschy I wouldn't recommend it. It is clean but the room amenities like the bathroom are in need of updating. The pool area, while visually interesting is inhabited by 20 somethiings who are ready to party hardy and so it is difficult to enjoy relaxing in the sun. Considering it was the 4th of July when we stayed there, I suppose it could have been worse and the price was reasonable but. the carpet in our room was un-padded and it was like walking on concrete, cold and damp. Cute yes but no thanks. Great rib dinner in Beachwood though!"

"Well, if you care about such things as hospitality and feeling like a guest being pampered %u2013 this is not the right place.
Very cold politeness on the verge of negligence is the maximum that you can expect from the staff.
However, if you want to walk to the beach from your room without paying too much it will work. You'll get your key, find your door in the long line of other doors (if your room looks at the fence it's rather a sad view, though) and will be able to enjoy a piece of a nice beach within a short working distance. By the way, the swimming pool is smaller and looks different from the picture on their site, so if you are not a kid you better don't dream about it too much not to be disappointed.
The room was clean with nice design, though buildings and appliances were rather old and not so good looking.

"Upon arrival, we were charged for an upgrade because we didn't want to be in the parking lot and then again because of the ground floor which I need due to my knees, but never told about the Florida resident discount. Our room also had big cockroaches in it and the shower head was broken, but the room was clean and all the staff were just great! However, I would not stay there again. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the beach which was littered with beer cans, plastic cups and garbage. As a 'not 20 something anymore' I did not want to be there with young children who were subjected to drunk young people who couldn't walk, had peed their pants, and did not watch their language or clothing. This is NOT a place for a child. This is NOT a family oriented place as the pool was filled with '20 somethings' who constantly used bad language. The restaurant has the worst food EVER! We were disappointed in everything we ordered, but again the staff was very good about the situation and refunded half of the food total. If you're looking for a party stay here, but if you are looking for quality family time stay somewhere else!"

"We stayed at the Inn because it was deal for being right on the beach. After we checked into the room, the brochure about the Inn stated that Florida residents could book a room for $99.00 nite really wish I could of gotten that price. The courtyard and pool are really nice. The room was OK, but on the morning I was checking there was a roach in our room which was VERY disappointing. When I checked out of the INN I let the front desk know about the roach, and I was told that is what happens when your right on the beach. I would not recommend to my friends/family and we won't stay there again.,"

"Should be Band Aid Inn, Should have know from all the poor review that it was dreadful. The band played til all hours of the night and instead of having a noise level it rumminated all the rooms with banging. Had absolutely no sleep and could not wait to get out of there. The inside lobby is in poor need of a flooring update...looks as though they just removed the carpet and failed to clean. It is a long ways from Boutique as they advertise but the far worst thing was the incessant noise throughout the place. You could even hear other people's alarm clocks going off. Not sure whether any amount of insulation could help this. On top of that the HVAC was not working, could see the drapes moving with the wind outside and the windows were closed. Does that tell you something about weather stripping. Hope I tell all my friends to never go there. There are many wonderful hotels on the strip. This was awful."
