"This is an old style hotel where the rooms open to the outside. The hotel has been taken care of and is positioned on the bay. Food is ok, staff is nice and the rooms are clean. The pool and outside bar area are very nice and relaxing."

"The Magnuson Hotel is a well hidden gem. With little signage out front letting you know that they are there, one would easily pass by, which is what I have done a million times. The outward appearance is not appealing at all but, once inside you
will be blown away. The rooms are very standard but very clean. However, the grounds, pools,restaurant, and that fantastic bay made it a wonderful stay. I would recomend it to anyone. As a matter of fact, we already have!"

"We were very pleasantly surprised by the Magnuson Hotel. It's right on the bay with a nice breeze in even the hottest weather. The two pools were very nice although we didn't have time to use them. Our room was very clean, the tiki bar was great (open until midnight), staff was very friendly and helpful. Great for families and people with boats and jet skis and fishermen. This was a great location for us as we were exploring the beach towns from Gulfport up to Clearwater Beach. We had a ground floor room with a patio overlooking the bay and it even had a table and chairs for relaxing. The staff recommended Billy's Stone Crabs, Fish and Steakhouse, a ten minute ride toward Fort DeSoto and it was well worth the trip. We would stay there again."

"We really enjoyed our stay. The price was great! The hotel is a off by itself, so we had a rental car. That way we could easily get anywhere we wanted to go and then we came back to quiet surroundings. The room was clean, and the towels and sheets were soft, which can be very important to sun-kissed skin. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff was very helpful. We plan on returning next year."

"Our original room smelled like cigarette smoke so we ask to moved which they did promptly and that room was fantastic. Even with a argue family reunion in all was quiet. Lovely place to fish and relax. Not very modern and needs to be updated but was comfortable. Staff went above and beyond from the front desk to housekeeping."
