History

This St. Augustine hotel`s intimate size and feel are reminiscent of a boutique hotel, and yet it offers the extensive services and facilities that are usually found only in much larger St. Augustine hotels. The charming, vibrant Spanish Colonial Period structure consists of a ``hollow square`` design, surrounded by 19 different buildings set around an inner courtyard and connected by an interior corridor. The buildings were inspired by the Second Spanish Colonial historic period, with wooden balconies, cedar-shake and tile roofs, with different elevations and colors that allow it to blend in with its surroundings. Virtually all of the rooms at our Hilton St. Augustine, Florida hotel offer stunning views of Matanzas Bay or the city of St. Augustine`s historic district.

Horse drawn carriages and the Historic Trolley transport visitors from our hotel in St. Augustine, FL through the streets of the old city. Historical points of interest include the Spanish Colonial Castillo de San Marco National Monument, dating from 1672, the original Government House and the magnificent Victorian structures of the period built by Henry Flagler including Flagler College formerly his grand hotel..

The St. Augustine, Florida hotel`s facilities include an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, business center, concierge service and a guest laundry and valet service. The Menendez and Ponce rooms, 800 square feet each or 1600 square feet when combined, can accommodate meetings of up to 125 people or of banquets up to 100. The 250 square foot Board Room can accommodate 12 and offers views of the bay.

Dining

The Aviles restaurant and Lounge within the Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront hotel features creative global cuisine with touches from the region surrounding Aviles, the sister city of St. Augustine in Spain. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes an outdoor dining area. ``Experience History from St. Augustine`s Point of View``. Travel should take you places!

Great downtown location on the bay front. Nice hotel, great staff, good amenities in a fabulous location on a historic site. Limited fitness room, nice pool but hot tub was dissappointingly just warm. Room was well laid out but you do hear noise from adjoining rooms and the hallways. OVerall though, a great choice.

We stayed here on a girl weekend. This had to be one of the nicest staffed and cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel was near everything. I can't wait to go back. The rooms were so clean, nicely decorated and roomy.

This hotel is close to everything. The staff is helpful and friendly, smiling at everyone as they walk by. The biggest surprise was the food. The chef is amazing and our dinner was the best food we had in the area. Gnocchi and lobster was superb and happy hour had 2 for 1 generous pours. Amy in the bar was terrific. We came for a meeting but will be back for vacation.

We stayed at the Bayfront Hilton in St. Augustine in January 2017. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but adequate with good quality products. The location is perfect for walking to all the historic sites and along the bay front and the area has plenty of dining and entertainment possibilities. There is some construction in progress but they keep the noise to a minimum before 9:00 and after 5:00 so it's really not a problem. There is on site val... Read more

Stayed for 2 nights...great room, great view..and fantastic location. Never needed to use our car. The lounge has happy hour from 4 to 8. Great deal! Also we did the Trolley tour..enjoyable day. Love all the hideaway bars and restaurants to choose from.

The Hilton Bayfront was built to fit in with the historic architecture that St. Augustine is known for. The setting, across the street from the Bay is outstanding. The interior is very inviting as you are greeted by a fountain in the middle of the lobby. A fireplace to the left side of the lobby was just another reminder you would have a comfortable and relaxing stay. Off to the side of the lobby was a restaurant and a bar area. The area where the Hilton is located has many restaurants and ... Read more

Hotel couldn't be more central - so easy to get to everything. Very charming with a beautiful view. Everything I have come to expect from a Hilton - would definitely stay there again. I love the digikey access that most Hilton's are now offering and also being able to check in and choose my room in advance.

Smallest Hilton in US has a lot of issues. While the location is good, it's not great, and there are other options with better rooms and amenities. The balcony views are not of the bay, but of parked cars and trash cans.

The check in was fine, except we were never offered to have our luggage brought up and had to bring our luggage through a very cramped lobby and bar that was using every square inch to charge people $40+ a head for Christmas dinner. Upon seeing our room we were very disappointed. It was motel quality with faux wood floors and mis matched furnishings. Very cheap looking. The tub didn't drain in the bathtub, it was lined with fake tile, the door didn't lock and the TV didn't work. Not much good to... Read more
