Hotel was awesome, comfy beds, great room temperature , clean, staff was great and breakfast was awesome. We were there with a few other couples and we all enjoyed our stay . I would definitely recommend my friends and family to stay here.

This was a last ditch effort choice of hotel on a very busy weekend in St Augustine. While the room was rather pricey for an outlying area of historic SA, the property was well tended and the hotel staff friendly and competent. For the same price I paid and the level of quality of the property, I would stay closer into the historic district next time. If you don't care about the proximity to historic downtown, this property is more than adequate.

We had a great time in St. Augustine, first trip but will not be our last! Stayed at the Hampton on Ponce de Leon a few blocks from the historic fort city, great location. they were very gracious, helpful, friendly and accommodating! We showed up on a whim, without a reservation or a real plan. They took us in, found us a suite for three days, helped us plan an itinerary and made it easy! Great desk crew, good maintenance and service staff!

Chantelle was the best front desk manager ANY hotel could have. She suggested places to visit, eateries and even the trolley to use to make our initial visit to St. Augustine a whopping success!! She is a REAL keeper!!!!

Stayed three days and the only problem was the noise from the highway but we kept the air conditioning going and that tamped the noise down some. Our room was on the highway side so that couldn't be helped. Well there was one other problem when we came home from a long day of sightseeing and someone had turned our AC off. We had a very warm room for a while. All the staff was courteous and helpful especially about what to see and what to avoid in the local area. The breakfast had numerous items ... Read more

This particular Hampton Inn is located within 2 miles of the beach and close to the historic downtown St Augustine. Nice park adjacent to the hotel. The internet is this facility is among the best/most responsive I have seen in quite some time. Pool is located along the front entry so there is a lot of traffic noise. The hot tub was down to have its' heater replaced. Breakfast was complimentary but pretty poor selection compared to other Hampton Inn's I've stayed at. Convenient and functional.

She was extremely pleasant and was helpful choosing restaurants and places to visit. She helped our group of nine purchase trolley tickets and set up shuttle service to the trolley station. My husband of 30 years and I decided to travel for our 30th anniversary and chose St. Augustine because we had never been there and had heard good things. We chose the St. Augustine Hampton Inn Historical District because it was close to interstate, A1A and downtown St. Augustine. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We had a wonderful stay at the St. Augustine Hampton Inn in the Historic District. The staff was friendly and helpful, arranging cabs when needed, calling the local trolley company for pickup at the hotel when needed, and offering recommendations. Since we were a larger group we set up in the lobby for get togethers several times and the staff always asked if we needed anything when we met there. PROS: The guest room was huge. They had cookies and coffee at check-in. They let us swim in the pool after it was "closed". CONS: The hotel was under construction and we were not informed before checking in. The sound of power tools in the morning was not acceptable for a $200+ hotel. The room was large, but confusing in layout: It was almost like they converted a conference room to a guest room and did the bare minimums. The TV did not turn on/off by the remote: It had to be turned on m... Read more

I fully understand hotels located at a tourist destination jack the rates on desirable weekends, like July 4th.. I booked this room based off the reviews read on this site, but now I'm disappointed I did so. The reviews for this hotel are not accurate. This hotel is not in the "historic" district! The hotel is located a little way outside town, a couple of dollar taxi ride into the town centre which has a number of good restaurants and bars. For the price of a stay here, this place was not up to par. It looks very nice from the outside, but our room was musty and damp. Door handles and mirrors were dirty and dusty. Chose this hotel based on location and price. It was close to historic downtown, without being in the center of all the excitement. A 10-minute walk got us to the fountain of youth, so location was great. Hotel rooms are clean, staff was accomodating, and breakfast was nice. Our only note was the hotel smelled slightly musty, an issue with older Florida buildings, but we were able to look past that.

The only reason I rated it very good instead of excellent on the location is it is a good distance from the historic district - not walking distance for sure. This was an anniversary gift to a couple from parents. It should have been a restful, sweet reminder of their honeymoon. But no, not to be. Doors were slammed, people were running around the halls, car alarms were being set off in the parking lot, people were making all sorts of noise. The front desk was notified more than once, finally after dressing and going to the front desk to protest, learned that nothing was done or likely would be done. It was a miserable waste of $276.

Very nice location in St. Augustine (Historic District). You could get much closer to the historic area and also pay much more. This Hampton Inn was just what we wanted and expected. Great service and a great mini breakfast/free. Definitely do the trolley tour. There appears to be two tour agencies that do the trolley tour. Check out the entire area first and then make notes on "where" you want to be left off. We chose a central location to get dropped off to do the historic district. You ... Read more

Excellent facility and wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. Sean was very personable and took the time to recommend his favorite restaurants in St. Augustine. Upon our return from dinner, he made a point to greet us. Everything about the hotel and room were spotless. The furnishings were excellent. Our night was extremely restful with not a sound from the hall or other rooms. Truly a most enjoyable experience!

Great location for the price. However, the breakfast on Friday was not up to Hampton Inn standards. Hard boiled eggs container empty, breads almost empty, no milk... The room, while a good floor plan and comfortable bed, was dusty. There was a roach on the floor of the first floor, across from the elevator for the duration of our visit (3 days/2nights), and a coffee spill on the floor immediately in front of the elevator until the second morning. Housekeeping needs to improve.

Stayed at this hotel for three days and loved every minute of it. Chantel at the front desk was a wealth of knowledge and very courteous. The rooms were clean and the hotel was well kept. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a great choice for our stay in St. Augustine. The staff was welcoming, warm and friendly. Check in and out was quick and smooth. The price was great. The hotel was a prime location as it was a 20 minute walk from downtown. An Uber downtown cost $6. The hotel lobby was very clean. The bed was very comfortable.

My family stayed at the Inn the weekend after the big storm in Oct and weren't sure what to expect but the place couldn't of been nicer, we had 11 adults and 3 children so the breakfast was very nice and the food was just fine, they give you a few option of what to choose and the coffee and tea were always hot, the children enjoyed the pool and the area has lots to do.

Nice room, great bed and pillows. Bathroom was spotless and included some nice toiletries. I thought makeup remover cloths were a nice touch. Eight friends and I spent a couple of days here to see the Christmas lights downtown. We spent a few hours each evening in the lobby playing cards. Sean couldn't have been more welcoming or hospitable as he baked us fresh cookies, served them to us and made us feel at home. I'd love to return, but only if Sean is working!
