My husband and I booked our trip late and found availability in and around the St. Augustine area limited (we later learned due to Flagler College graduation). The Vilano Beach location was a 10 minute drive to the old town of St. Augustine. Vilano itself is a little sleepy (not sketchy), the beach is a quick walk across the street from the hotel however they allow cars and I found it to be less than relaxing, plus the sand was a very hard texture. Several good restaurants are within walking... Read more

The Hampton is conveniently located just after you cross the bridge from St Augustine going to Vilano Beach. Just 1 block from the beach and amenities such as a Publix the next block over. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, modern, and breakfast in the morning. Worth the extra money for the location & convenience.

While the rooms are your typical average Hampton rooms, the location of this hotel and it's pool and balcony rooms are great! If you don't get to beach much this is certainly worth the extra to get an ocean view. At the very least get a pool view. Their breakfast is better than most Hamptons also.

Love that Hampton Inns are always consistently clean. I was not disappointed during this visit. In addition, the staff also consistently demonstrated southern hospitality. The breakfast was typical, including a little bit of everything.

I and most everyone I work with that travels to this location for business loves this place. I wouldn't stay anywhere else while in St. Augustine. I brought my family along for a few days of my trip and they were very accommodated. Warm cookies in the evening are a nice treat coming home from the beach or work!

We traveled to St. Augustine for a weekend get away. Spent three days touring the city. Our stay at The Hampton - Vilano Beach was excellent. We were within walking distance from the beach and a 10 minute drive from downtown St. Augustine.

(This stay was a three-night one that started on June 23, 2015, as trip advisor wouldn't let me mark it as June) The location is across the street from Publix and a few other stores, so you don't need to waste gasoline to grab a few items. The room we originally got didn't have a pull-out couch (for the third person, who was me) so the staff moved us to another room with one without any extra charges. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was a nice touch. Also... Read more

I'm embarrassed to admit how much time I spent trying to choose hotel in St. Augustine area. But THIS TIME it paid off! This hotel was IDEAL for providing easy beach access and access to St. Augustine attractions- all at a great price. Fresh fruit, elegant pastries as well as the 'typical' breakfast foods started off our day right. The pool looks like one in a resort- and I am a pool snob. It even has fuchsia lights that transform the water in the evening. You really can't go wrong staying there... Read more

I'm glad we stayed here.'s true that certain parts of the hotel need some work (no air conditioning in the main floor bathroom - loose tiles in the elevator that lift out of place when you walk on them, one painfully slow elevator for the entire hotel) but rooms are clean and cool and the pool, lobby and outdoor space is really very nice. We travel alot and the entire family agreed they could have stayed at the pool all day and evening. What a great atmosphere. It was extremely clea... Read more

We stayed overnight on Father's Day weekend. This hotel is close to downtown, great value too. We got a nice king suite with a AAA discount. We were so pleased. The breakfast in the morning was nicely prepared and presented. The dining area is very large so never felt crowded. We had an issue with our air conditioner, was a little noisy when it kicked on. The front desk discounted our stay to compensate. We appreciated that. Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Overall a good place for a weekend get away. Our only challenge was a king size bed that was extremely soft and foot of the bed higher than the head of the bed so not so good sleep but our own fault for not trying to change rooms but doubtful could have happened with a wedding party taking over most of the Hotel....

We did know what to expect as it was our first visit to this beach. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The pool/hot tub area is kid friendly and has a safety entry gate. The room was beautiful and spacious in a time when hotel rooms are getting smaller and smaller. Location is a 2-3 minute walk from the beach and staff was very helpful! We plan to return.

It had been 8 years since we had a proper vacation and really wanted to be able to enjoy our time together in this beautiful corner of Florida. Good location. Clean room. Average breakfast. Booked a tour from phone number on flier that was located near elevators. When I came to the lobby to get the shuttle for the tour the concierge woman was rude and upset with me. She said that was her job and sent my shuttle away. I had to wait for another shuttle for the tour trolley. She was beyond inappropriate. I was with my two young children and there was another family at her concierge desk.

Ok... Very nice price...but you need to understand what your getting for that. A nice place to stay ( a bit understaffed when we went) very close to the beach. No restaurant or bar. The pool is a small pool, just good enough to cool off from the heat. The gym is small but you can do most of your cardio and weights if you want. Picked this place based on it being away from 'the maddening crowd' and was not disappointed. Room was a nice size, very clean and right next to Vilano Beach. You can walk out the front door and enter the beach when you leave the hotel property. Good price in comparison to some places in St. Augustine that were more expensive and not nearly as nice. They serve a 'light breakfast' however we chose to eat elsewhere.

The safe had no door which is unacceptable considering I am a LEO and specifically checked before I booked the hotel. The bathtub didn't drain, they failed to call us when our room was ready after they said we could check in early as HH members. The hotel, elevators, and lobby were all very hot. This hotel has always been a favorite destination since our children were very young, however, it has fallen into horrible decline and Hilton should be made aware! We travel extensively on business and mostly stay with Hilton or Marriott properties. The Hampton Inn Vilano has always been a "treat" for our family. WHY would the management allow this valuable property to fall in such decline and disrepair??? We changed rooms twice tonight and eventually checked out. We appreciate that the young wo... Read more

Traveling south to Naples, we decided to stop in St Augustine to see the sights. This hotel was away from the tourist shopping area, but located right on beautiful Vilano beach. What a great place to stay. It was only a few miles to the parking area where we could see the sights, shop, and eat.

We were expecting better service from a Hilton hotel. The location was great, other than that it was just average. We never got service from housekeeping and we had a few more issues. Unfriendly staff.

My wife and I stayed at this Hampton for a quick weekend getaway with our youngest for his last trip to the beach before school. Honestly the amenities were nice and breakfast was good but the service and quality was not deserving of its name. Shortly after checkin my room smelled horrible of mildew. They were kind enough to switch my room...the 2nd was better but not good. While at the pool I met a couple that was there only bc their A/C went out and maintenance was trying to fix it. ...pinch yourself to be sure you actually are in a Hampton. Seaside, amazing beach, and true boutique hotel flair. Friendly staff, squeaky clean. We live nearby, and as a treat for birthdays, anniversaries, etc., splurge on a hotel night out. We used to favor Hilton St Augustine Bayfront but when you add on $24 per night for parking plus a very expensive (but excellent) breakfast, even if you are lucky enough to catch a low room rate it becomes a big ticket evening. The pool/hot tub area had very nice wicker chairs & music (not live) in the evenings. Room (king) was updated and had fridge/microwave. 1 block to the beach, several restaurants within walking distance (seafood/italian). After a friendly reception, we found that our standard room looked tired and needed refurbishment. Having been so positively impressed with the complimentary breakfast at the Hampton Inn on Amelia Island that we had recently stayed at, we were disappointed by what was offered here - the fresh fruit appeared to be out of cans, instead of bacon there was thinly sliced fried ham and the scrambled egg looked as though it was made of egg powder. First off, the hotel was great like last time. The main problem was that the mechanics were installing a mat in the elevator, so it was out of service one morning and another night. Our worries were that our room would be in bad condition or moldy smelling because of water damage. They had it all under control and our room was perfect. The ne Ostaff were great as well. There was some damage to the hotel but not enough for our vacation to go bust. Thanks for a great stay! JoAnne Odessa Fl

We booked this hotel mainly because it was fairly close to The Players golf tournament without the pricetag of the Jacksonville hotels. We couldn't have been happier. The hotel was great, with good restaurants within walking distance, and very friendly staff. It's about a 25 minute drive to Ponte Vedra to get to the golf course, but there was almost no traffic and we easily got to the course as needed.
