I spent several days at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa and really enjoyed the laid back environment. The resort is an older facility that has been very nicely updated - rooms, lobby, pool, and garden areas were very clean with a nice (fresh) old-style design. The room was spacious with a nice view of the bay and the bed was very comfortable. The resort is located in a quaint town (village) with about 10 restaurants, a few small bars, and numerous other small businesses. Although I didn't u... Read more

My mother and I arrived on Saturday and checked in. We were told about the amenities fee, which was $16 per day on top of the money we spent for our stay. We walked around the resort and it was beautiful. We noticed people were drinking in the pool, so we decided that was not for us. We went up to our room and the view was lovely. However, we noticed that there was a problem with the Wifi. I called the front desk and the woman said someone else had just called. She asked if I wanted to sp... Read more

I came in off the street and I wanted to check out the fountain grill. I ordered food and I noticed the servers were all congregated in either the back area of the restaurant or talking to the hostess. I ordered the blackened chicken and fruit salad. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The wonderful Jean Paul greeted me and asked how my meal was. Very nice guy, but I could barley understand him. Stayed at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa for a wedding. The hotel is large and like a maze getting around inside. However the rooms were very well taken care of and the beds were good. It was clean and the personnel were friendly and helpful. I do wish they would have a grab bar in the shower area. The breakfast buffet on Saturday morning was very good with plenty of food. I didn't use the pool but it looked like it would be fun.

We were in the area for a wedding and needed a place to stay the night before our flight out. My brother-in-law suggested this place as it is near their home. The place is beautiful and right in the heart of old Safety Harbor. Everything is in walking distance right outside the front door. Quaint, charming, and what a Florida resort was before interstate highways. I wish we could have stayed several nights. Located on Tampa Bay in sleepy Safe Harbor. This place is a delight and off the beaten trail. The place is chocked full of quite charm and very luxurious. We spent may a happy hour at the Tiki Bar being taken care of by Randy. The hotel is a part of the Choice System, which would normally be a big NO, but it is definitely worth a long gard look. The view is spectacular, in a quite little part of Tampa Bay not frequented by the average tourist. Great stay, we will be back!

A couple of days after paying with credit card at the restaurant I noticed in the account statement that they overcharged the tip. After claiming at the reception, it was obvious for the staff at the reception because of the total that the charge was "intentionally" wrong. They kindly apologized and promised to take action and reinburse the ammount. So far nothing happened. Just for this simple reason, I would not come back to this hotel.

The room was very spacious and well appointed. We can't wait to return.

We came here for our anniversary weekend and I honestly just wanted to leave. Everyone is very friendly but the hotel is really old and it shows. Spacious room, but balcony furniture could use an upgrade- chairs are each different. Honestly, just not what I expected for the cost. When you walk into the hotel it wreaks of something that smells like pinesol. Parking was off site. As for the downtown area- I saw very few shops and a lot of restaurants.

We went for my birthday and had such a great time. There is a lot of history with the hotel; it is 90 years old. There are beautiful areas - murals, etc. I purchased a spa special and really enjoyed my treatments. The ladies sauna area was being renovated- unfortunately for me. It sounds like it will be beautiful when finished. The room was well appointed although it wasn't exactly pool view as stated. The room was in a great location for the spa, pools, and gym. I took two classes and enjoy... Read more

Granted the resort is almost a century old; however, the maintenance of the facility is very poor. We were locked out of our room for about an hour because the electronic door lock had malfunctioned. There was mold on the ceiling in the hallway outside our room and heavy mildew around the bath tub. The water main had to be shut off for a few hours due to "emergency repairs". It wasn't bad enough that the resort is overpriced and under maintained, the entire floor we were staying on smelled ve... Read more

The food in restaurant was not good and i have been there before when it was phenomenal. My stay was 7 days, ate in restaurant 5 times. Flatbread was burned, steak way overdone, cold steak fries, rotini and beef casserole not edible, sigh. Really? However, the banquets and sunday brunch cant be beat. Truly amazing and scrumptious. The accommodations are great. Really like this place.

This place was absolutely lovely!!!! Charming decor with light music add to the nostalgic feeling throughout the resort. Very elegant. We enjoyed the three pools, especially the peace and quiet of the indoor pool and jacuzzi's. Room service dinner was good and fairly priced. We also frequented the tiki bar and were not let down. We missed out of booking spa services but will def add for our next stay. We will be back for sure!!!!

Once again Safety Harbor Spa "exceeded our expectations" the facility, the staff, the ambiance are beyond compare. Their Sunday buffet is the "best" in the area and the price is more than reasonable. This is truly a "find" we suggest anyone who is interested will not be disappointed.

Stayed by myself at the spa for one night and had a great time! My room was a king with a patio that overlooks the pool area which I enjoyed. The Parthenon Tiki Bar was crowded and had to close before 10 p.m. which was a disappointment. I wanted to be able to stay later outside since it was not raining. My bedroom was a remodeled room and I had a great night sleep. This stay i did not utilize the spa services but i had swam in the pool which was clean and refreshing. Staff was accommodating and ... Stayed for 4 days during a business trip and couldn't have been happier. It's a resort/spa primarily, but has several pools, connected to large parks, and right on the marina. They have 3 restaurants, a cool bar, and bike rentals if you need one. The rooms were all suites, with balconies, giving you that amazing Florida view of the Tampa Bay and downtown. Pretty awesome to see each morning, and the balcony is nice to relax on in the evenings with the light breeze that came through. Within 1-2 ... Read more

Continue to hope but regularly find the place disappointing. The help is unfriendly verging on surly. There are services, like the poolside cafe and the street side restaurant that are unopened at times when people are ready for a light meal or a late snack. This place is in s beautiful spot but seems to be living off the reputation long since past. Sad

We really enjoyed our stay. So much to see and do at this resort. It's a small town, but the resort is in a great location. I did everything I could in two days from swimming in the indoor and outdoor pool, relaxed in the Jacuzzi and got a 30 minute much needed massage. The rooms are unbelievably spacious and the area on the balcony was large with a bay view. So great to sit out on the balcony with my morning coffee and watch the sun rise. I checked out the other fitness areas and all looked very good. Outdoor lap pool is a plus. Most of the staff were very helpful. Thought the wait staff at breakfast were a little non-existent.

This looked like a very nice place to spend a weekend away. We made reservations for our wedding anniversary & upgraded to a drink/dining package. We expected a "resort & spa" experience" and, at best, we got more of a cheap Best Western with palm trees. The 1st employee we encountered was the valet guy, who was a total jerk to us the second he realized we wanted to self-park. Check-in was torturous-- 35 mins in line. We got to our king bayview room, which was very pretty and spacious, but had a... Read more

I reviewed the hotel last year and I love it just as much as ever. This is my third stay and my second stay in the Palm section. I love the lay out of the room and the walk out patio. But today's review is really about the massage. The women's steam, sauna, and jacuzzi are closed for repair, which is a drag, especially when one is still paying the full resort fee. The amenities are older, but in a quaint way. There is a very well equiped gym area with plenty of free weights, a cardio room and a ... Read more

We stay here on business trips and training meetings. I love the art work, piano bar, and the lotions, shampoo, and soaps they put in your room. The restaurant has awsome breakfeast and I love the grilled chicken sandwich. Other than that, I was not a big fan of the other items they serve. I wish you could order breakfast all day long. The location is great as well and in walking distance to shops and dives to eat at. The view of the water, the pool, and the tiki bar are great as well!

Hotel location is great, but in desperate need of updating. Felt like the Golden Girls would walk in any minute. And then promptly catch pneumonia from how musty and damp the resort is. Internet and cell service almost non-existent. Staff was minimally pleasant, but everything seemed to take twice as long as it should have. Would not stay again.

Went there to workout today on a day pass. I like the exercise facility and go once in a while, but when I walked into the locker area today, it smelled as though it had been wrapped in a sock that was worn by a 20-mile-a-day hiker, for three weeks straight. I've been in locker rooms around the world, schools, YMCA's, military, you name it. NONE have reeked like this place. How does management allow that to happen?
