Amazing room and grounds. Lots of great restaurants onsite and nearby. The Beach Club was amazing (great view during dinner) and the beach has great shells. The pool at the Beach Club is heated and the shuttle runs often. St. Augustine was a short coastline drive and a must see. We loved this place and plan to return in the near future.

Whenever I travel to Jacksonville I stay at this resort. The grounds are beautiful and there are two great restaurants right inside. This time they had some construction going on and I had to move to a different room on the first evening of my stay. Don't expect any spectacular views. I asked my room with the view and it looked over the golf course which is OK. However, because the hotel is only 4 or 5 floors high you're not going to get much of a view. For the price that you pay including the ... Read more

The hotel and its grounds are beautiful. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and helpful with the exception of those at Alice and Pete's Pub where the service was rather indifferent. The rooms are nicely appointed and spacious. The room was clean and had no HVAC issues. Access to the Cabana Beach Club is a great amenity. You simply take the shuttle bus from the front of the convention center area. It's a very short drive, and the club has almost anything you're looking for - great beach, poo... Read more

Staff was amazing. Rooms could have been a little cleaner. I did find a long hair in the bathroom that grossed me out. But the rest of the room was clean. Lobby is beautiful with open airy feel. I would highly recommend this place if staying in the area.

Just returned from a 4 day meeting at this property. By and large, I'm a fan of Marriott. Upon checking in (early, which I was grateful for), I was a bit disappointed w/ my room. Engineer, Robert, was at my door in about 2 minutes. After a phone call to Patrick, the front desk manager, I had a different room that was PERFECT. Customer service is clearly imbedded in the culture at Sawgrass. Everyone, from housekeeping, to the groundskeepers was friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Can't wai... Read more

Have been to Alice & Pete's Pub many times over the course of the past 2 years for either week day lunch with friends or with my husband to watch football games on a Sunday and have always been very happy with the food, service and general feel of the restaurant. Today a group of us - 9 adults and 2 toddlers - had a very pleasant lunch on the outside patio of the restaurant. Our servers Vickie and Jeremy - were very attentive and made sure the kids meals were brought out first. We all devo... Read more

It was a great experience with Alice and Petes for lunch! Great food and a great bartender Vickie. She was always smiling and carrying on a conversation which most bartenders don't anymore. After lunch we all went outside and she continued to help us. She told us about the Cabana Club so we are all going to try it before we leave! Thank you Marriott for great service!

This was a lovely resort but is in the middle of a course refurbishment so activities were limited. The miniature putting area was disappointing and is hopefully on the refurbishment list after they finish the main golf course. Our room was in the Villa area and although it was nice inside they really need to update the outlets to include USB ports. The staff we encountered was amazing, especially Robert at the check in desk. We saw him several times during our stay and enjoyed his kind hosp... Read more

I visited this resort with a large group and really thought it an amazing property! The staff was over the top with regards to service. The rooms/suites were very well done and the grounds were amazing. Set on the Stadium Golf Course, pools, gardens, trails, there is just so much to do. They also have a private Beach Club with free transportation. I will definitely be going back and while it was perfect for a convention up to 500 people, next time, I'm bringing the family!

This was the most relaxing part of our entire vacation. Our villa was gorgeous with an amazing view of the lagoon. This place is big, beautiful and peaceful. Staff was so amazing and attentive on every point. The shuttle to the cabana club was there quickly. Food at the cabana club snack shop and the pub delicious. The only thing that could be better is the pricing for food and beverages at the resort!!! Wish we didn't have to go home!

This was our first time to this area. There are only a few hotels here. We wanted to stay on the beach but the hotels were way too pricey so we choose the marriot. This is a major player for professional golf and i wasn't sure what to expect. The grounds are very pleasant to the eye and allowed for the feeling of being in a high end area. We were greeted upon arrival very pleasantly, they put us in the tower on the 5th floor overlooking their lagoon, which was a body of water that flowed through... Read more

Negatives- The rooms need a face lift. They are very generic and remind me of a lower class of hotel. My bathroom smelled of sewer gases on two occasions and the sinks gurgled all the time. There's a new shopping center with several good restaurants just across the road from the resort, but there's no safe route to walk so you are either forced to wait for the shuttle or you opt to walk in the road with the traffic. Positives- The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was satisfactor... Read more

Overall, I thought the hotel was fine. Like other reviewers have said, the hotel is currently under-going construction on the main entrance. So the convention center entrance is the main one for now. It's a bit of a walk from the convention center entrance to the front desk, but not too bad. Just beware of this if you're traveling with smaller kids or someone who can't walk long distances. This is a decent hotel which has management issues. I was kept up till 1:30 am my first night by drunks partying at the pool. I went to the main lobby and asked 'What time does the pool close?'. After they replied '11', I asked, 'Then why are there drunks partying out there?'. To there credit, they did get it to quiet down after that. We recently stayed at the Marriott Sawgrass and used my husband's Marriott points. He stays quite often at Marriotts for work. I completely understand when you are under renovation, a lot of things can go awry. The attention to details are what matters. We had to leave the pool because the trash cans around the area smelled and it was strong. I would suggest when you have heat like Florida to make sure your trash cans are emptied frequently. I have stayed here twice for business and this is by far and away my favorite hotel in Jacksonville. The hotels have been very hit or miss in Jacksonville for me. The hotel is a very typical nice Marriott on the inside. Rooms are clean and standard Marriott, not a bad thing. The grounds and pool are just beautiful.
