Follow the signs to I-275 South "To St. Petersburg" and across Tampa Bay. Continue South on I-275 approximately 15 miles through St. Petersburg. Exit I-275 at the St. Pete Beach/Pinellas Bayway Exit (new exit 17, old exit 4). Proceed West across Pinellas Bayway ($.50 toll) which takes you directly to St. Pete Beach and ends at Gulf Blvd. Turn right, and the TradeWinds Resorts are on the left hand side of the street, about 1-1.5 miles north.

From St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport:

Turn left out of airport onto Roosevelt and follow signs to I-275 South through St. Petersburg, approximately 13 miles. Exit I-275 at the St. Pete Beach/Pinellas Bayway Exit (new exit 17, old exit 4). Proceed West across Pinellas Bayway ($.50 toll) which takes you directly to St. Pete Beach and ends at Gulf Blvd. Turn right, and the TradeWinds Resorts are on the left hand side of the street, about 1-1.5 miles north.

From points North:

From I-75, take I-275 to Tampa and remain on it through Tampa and across Tampa Bay. Continue South on I-275 approximately 15 miles through St. Petersburg. Exit I-275 at the St. Pete Beach/Pinellas Bayway Exit (new exit 17, old exit 4). Proceed West across Pinellas Bayway ($.50 toll) which takes you directly to St. Pete Beach and ends at Gulf Blvd. Turn right, and the TradeWinds Resorts are on the left hand side of the street, about 1-1.5 miles north.

"I took my family because they had water slides in the ocean. Tr s out it was only seasonal and they had it no where on their site. Also many other activities were seasonal which they advertise but again didn't say seasonal so basically we paid to play in the pool"

"Our stay was very nice. The resort is very good for families, a lot to do (swimming, hot tub, sauna, paddle boats, mini golf, tennis, pool table, ping pong, etc.. and we went during off-season so it wasn't crowded at all. The cabanas were great and staff helpful. Our room was roomy (4 beds), much like a condo but not sure I would rank it 4 star? It was nice.....just not on the 'trendy' side but didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Good location and ample restaurants around. We enjoyed 'Crabby Bills' just down the road. Fried pickles were the best! I would stay here again. And the beaches were beautiful.....just what I was expecting 'gulf side'."

"The Tradewinds Island Grand was a wonderful hotel. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The beach was beautiful and the cabanas that were provided as a part of the resort fee were very nice. Many restaurants within walking distance- try Skidders for some great seafood. We will definitely come back!"

"First time to this hotel and St. Pete Beach. The Resort was absolutely beautiful and exceeded what I imagined. There was so many activities and the atmosphere was perfect for my two 14 year olds. They had a blast and wants to go back next year. The rooms were nice and the staff was so friendly. Always saying hi and so willing to be helpful. The beach was gorgeous and not overcrowded. can't wait to go back next year."

"Nice place, however spent $4,000 for a 5 night stay without an ocean view. Food extremely expensive for poor quality. Crab shells in food, and staff at the restaurant was not attentive even though there was only 3 other families and not crowded. Some staff went above and beyond and others very unfriendly. Beds were very soft and did not support body, uncomfortable. Housekeeping was great and clean rooms. Great activities for the kids and loved the movie by the pool as well as the hair braiding and slide on beach. Cabanas great too!."

"Stayed at theresort for a SpringBreak vacation. Rooms were clean and up to date. Overall facade of the resort and grounds was fairly good. Had lots of things for everyone to do.Pools were many but very small and crowded. We definintley had alot of Spring Break crowd with many drunk adults and LOTS of teenagers running around unattended.. View out of my room was of an airconditioning unit. Houskeeping sevices were very poor, had to clean my own room 4 of the 7 days of stay. Upgraded to suite and no extra ammenities given even charged more for resort fees. Had to wait in line every morning of my vacation for 11/2 hours to get a cabana.Husband got stung by sting ray and didnt get proper medical attention. Lots of hidden fees once on resort. Be careful!!"

"The hotel is nice for its age. The room had a balconey that overlooked the beach and gulf which was very beautiful. The only bad thing is there was a bad draft from under the door when the ac was on and I had to place a towel there to stop it. I had 2 seperate episodes of anaphalactic reaction because the hotel was doing some painting, so those 2 days were spent in my room in bed. On the good part the hotel has made every attempt to make this bad experience a good one for me and my family. Which is very impressive! I will go back to the resort again, and the kids are looking forward to Spring Break 2013! Hopefully without the painting this time......"

"The property is older, it is well maintained, but our room had the carpet recently cleaned and there was still a dampness / stickyness feeling to the carpet. Very unplesant, in addition several of the elevators were out of service and our room was located beyond the ice machine and house keeping down a seperate coridor in the middle of the 4th floor. It was odd how we got to our room and did not add to the general experience. Thanks!"
