My family views Portofino Island Resort as our one and only beach vacation spot. They have a location like no other place we've ever been. With the ocean on one side and the bay on the other and a protected nature preserve next door, you can help but feel surrounded by beauty and sea life. And the accommodations are well appointed and very spacious with amazing views. This resort is great for families and romantic getaways. It is definitely not a wild and noisy party place. Just returned from 7 days at Portofino Island Resort, and it was wonderful. My husband, my mother and my one year old son all had a great time. There is something for everybody! The view from tower 1 was fantastic (both Gulf and Bay view). Each and every staff member we ran across was super nice. I took a pilates class, and it was great! We did the dolphin cruise, sailed the hobie cat, took out the pontoon boat, and enjoyed the pool and beach numerous times. Loved the butler service on the beach... Read more

I can't even begin to describe how amazing our honeymoon was due to this exceptional resort. We loved everything about this amazing resort from the pools, the beach, the most respectful always smiling staff, the wonderful views of the most beautiful sunsets, the premier package is the only way to go (take advantage of this you will not be disappointed)! You all are amazing. We will definitely be returning with friends and family every year! -Mr. & Mrs. Folkertsma

If you are handicapped, stay away! Resort is very spread out and access to the beach on the gulf side is next to impossible! Shuttles are provided, but are too high to climb into and do not always arrive when requested. I stayed in Tower II which was as far from the gulf as you can get and I was truly disappointed. Agent double-booked condo and I was stuck here!

We arrived on a Saturday and were so excited for a great vacation at a beautiful resort. 24 hours later 2,500 teens arrived, taking over every inch of the resort and the rest of our vacation was miserable! Pool time became a loud and crowded mess with 200+ kids in a pool with a Max capacity of 80. My children were told to leave the ocean because they were in the groups way. The hotel made up for that with passes to their waterpark but unfortunately that ended the same when all the teens were to... Read more

I rented a condo from VRBO. The pictures looked great online, but the unit was dated and slowly falling apart. The mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever in my life slept on. The floor would have been better. The pillows were rock hard, the sheets paper thin. The washer and dryer barely worked and the top of the dryer looked like someone had thrown battery acid on it. The latches on the doors wouldn't work, the blinds wouldn't go down, the TVs didn't work. You get no cleaning supplies, ... Read more

This year I was glad to meet some of the Portafinos best, Tina was there daily to meet us and make us feel welcome, and Aaron is still watching us at the dock and making sure that we stayed safe and has a blast! We loved our visit to Portofino. We spent a whole day on kayaks, an obstacle course and by the pool eating delicious foods and enjoying frozen drinks. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The portofino 1 dolphin cruise was also enjoyable. We saw some Dolphins, got some great photos of the landscapes and buildings in Pensacola. Sunny beaches, white sand and blue water call you each morning. The resort has virtually everything you could want. Condos are individually owned so it is really like dealing with a vacation rental. Yet, the resort still has a resort vibe. Each tower (there are 5) has its own swimming pool and the main pools have bars and sometimes entertainment.

Issues: -Gym was nice but too small for such a larger property--probably need two gyms -Wifi is very slow---Portifino should have 5 separate Wifis to service each tower vice 1 Wifi for all to use -Cable TV package is CHEAP for the price of a room--HBO should be included --Main Pool needs to have more Umbrellas available--like for all chairs--its 100 degrees outside
