As a past 15 year General Manager in the hotel industry, in the state of Florida as well as the Carolina's and Ohio, I have to say this is a very well run hotel.....The location is beautiful, the staff at the front desk, in maintenance and at the breakfast stations were all very friendly and attentive. The rooms and the grounds, as well as the lobby area was very clean and well presented...I appreciated the beach towels for use by the guests. Although I did not want housekeeping in my four day... Stayed in room 504 over a weekend with husband who was there on federal business. As other reviews state, staff is very friendly and accomodating and rooms are very clean. Gulf view was stunning and balcony is perfect for taking it all in. But downsides to consider if you're thinking of a family vacation are that there are no microwaves in rooms, only one in lobby that they bring out after breakfast, and traffic is absolutely horrendous. Plan on waiting on line even at the Tom Thumb quick mart ... Read more

The breakfast bar was really great! Ms. Tess, who oversees the breakfast bar, was a jewel of a manager there. She was right on getting your empty plates out of your way so you could enjoy your company and coffee. She really enjoys taking care of people and it shows. Small HIE sitting on the beach with all ocean front rooms. Quiet side of Pensacola beach not to crowded but only a 8-10 minute walk to numerous restaurants and bars. Margartiville resort right next door. Great staff, plenty of convenient parking (not covered). Staff at hotel fabulous. Have not encountered a single employee who has not said something to us. You will like this place!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our four night stay at this hotel. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was very good and Tess, who takes care of the breakfast bar, made sure that everyone had a pleasant start to their day. Our room was very clean and the view from our third floor balcony was magnificent. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the basket on the lobby desk in the afternoon were an added treat.

I was in the area to visit the Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Pickens. This is the second time I have stayed here. The hotel was clean, safe and comfortable. Every room has a view of the Gulf of Mexico, which is great. It is the best feature. The sunrises in the winter are amazing. The breakfast was great. The staff was helpful and friendly. This was our second time to stay here. This time we stayed on the second floor and the view was still great. The main thing I like about this place is all the rooms face the beach so you are not going to get a room facing the parking lot. They provide breakfast, plenty of free parking for guests, towels & buckets for the kids for going to the beach. I guess the only neg is there is no microwave in your room and you have to go down stairs. But at least there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating... Read more

This hotel has it together. The grounds are spotless, the rooms are large and who can forget the large balcony facing the beautiful gulf of Mexico. You do not have to leave the United States to experience beautiful beaches. What I especially love being the mom of 2 very hungry boys is the delicious breakfast. You will find pancakes, delicious and I mean mouth watering cinnamon rolls, bacon or sausage (alternates daily, also have turkey bacon and turkey sausage), scrambled eggs or cheese omelet, ... This hotel was a pleasant surprise while traveling to Pensacola for business. It is right on the beach and in a convenient location to the EPA Gulf Breeze Lab. I stayed in a corner room that was handicap accessible and spacious. The room had a balcony and a gorgeous view of the blue Gulf waters. The only detractor was the A/C unit was noisy. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely come here on a business trip or next time for pleasure and bring the family.

For the cost of the room per night, I am mostly unimpressed---This hotel is overpriced by 15-20%. The room WAS clean and of a good size; the balcony facing the ocean is nice. But it's not a very good value for the price. I joined the IHG (Holiday Inn parent company) rewards club and booked direct. I was given the opportunity to submit special requests, which I did for an early check-in.
