"I chose to stay here despite the reviews because it was affordable for this last minute trip my son ask for us to go on. I will say the room itself was nice but but there was no sheets on one of the beds the night we got there and instead of sending someone to fix it he gave me the sheets from the front desk. The next morning there is no time to get dressed and out of your room before housekeeping is knocking on your door repeatedly yet they don't do anything to your room except give you towels IF YOU ASK FOR THEM. The next day they again did the same thing, except when we returned hours later our door was not shut completely and they were still cleaning other rooms, but hadn't touched ours, and did not the whole day.We never had housekeeping the whole time we were there, we got towels from the front desk at night.Also I have never meet such rude and impatient staff. the elevator rarely worked and the walk way to your room was cluttered and you would see doors open with the laundry or garbage items when housekeeping was gone for the day. And to top it all off the last night we were there the toilet was stopped up until we left."

"RUN!!!! Far far away! This place is a DUMP! Im a reasonable person, and I was disgusted at this place!!! Parking lot was small and cramped. Overflow is a block away, and there is NO security. Floors were filthy walk across floor one time bare foot and the bottom of your feet are black. In bathroom, hair was all in tub drain and I killed a spider. Front door and balcony door when closed were still cracked, didn't close all the way. Rust all over refrigerator and dirt and hair was in refrigerator. Table in room almost fell when a plastic bag was put on table. Nasty balcony with previous guests shoes left out there. The pool looks nasty and there are ZERO chairs by pool that happens to be located in front of hotel in parking lot basically, but there is a privacy fence. The stairwell has a smell that will knock you out. The only thing this place needs is a demolition crew. STAY AWAY!!!!!!"

"This hotel (more of a motel) was absolutely disastrous and disgusting and was in no way acceptable. After dealing with their almost completely incompetent staff, waiting for an hour and a half to check in, which at 6:40 (check in time was supposed to be at 4:00, but moved to 6:00), they still did not have our room cleaned; we finally went up to check our room. On the way up to the room, the stairwell had standing puddles of urine on them that we had to step through, and reeked all the way to our room. The room was a complete run-down dump and reeked of bleach and urine. Stains on the floor and bedding. Beds were harder than the concrete outside. Door to the balcony did not shut all the way. Almost had to kick the entrance door down to open it. The TV- ha! It was a 13... retro tube TV that had more snowy static on it than actual television. The carpet felt so disgusting that I felt gross walking on it without my shoes on. The hotel claims to have been recently remodeled, but their remodel must have been dumping paint over everything and blobbing it on, and bleach everything else. It was out dated and completely wore out looking. I've seen hole-in-the-wall motels for $29.95 that were much nicer than this place. The staff was careless of the ordeal, but was immediately willing to issue a refund, . Be warned: the pictures and descriptions are very misrepresentative of the actual condition of the rooms."

"I would never book it to The Reef again, this unit needs a big renovation. This did not look at all what the internet picture shows. I have asked to see the room and surely enough, we would not stay in the placed like this, smelled bad and everything was so old, and dirty the door to the balcony did not want to open. There was no microwave, no refrigidare in the room.
Thank God the receptionist gave us a key to the room to Origin. That was much better, and we decided to stay there.Much nicer and cleaner, what we expected.

"The first room they gave us had pizza boxes still in the room, the bed looked as though it had been slept in and not made up and there were roaches in the bathroom.
The second room they gave us did not have face cloths nor hand towels. One of the two chairs on the balcony were broken. The air conditioner was not very efficient and the entry door was difficult to open and close."

"No coffee maker in the room. Ice maker did not work. The phone in our room did not work. When you look at the pic of the pool with all of the chairs around it not true. Maybe 6 or 7 chairs. Some kind of little black bugs swimming around in pool.The view of the beach was great. The staff was great. For the price we paid this was not a good deal."

"The Reef was really disgusting and I did not even want to place my head down on the pillow. The furniture was somewhat slimey like the housecleaning wiped it down with a overused wipe. The carpet needed vacuuming and the balcony needed some repainting. It rained when I arrived and the walk to the room and within the elevator smelled of urine.
The only thing I can say positive about the property was the management staff was EXCELLENT and they accomodated my situation by providing a better room."

"the most horrible experiance on the beach staying at The Reef at Seahaven .I was given room #369 once in we checked the bedding first when we lifted the sheets of the bed there were blood stains on the mattress and the bed sheets .We complained @ the fromt desk they said some will come and change the sheets ,2hrs nobody showed up .I called them and they orderd me to go and get the key to a different room .#461 .the Tv remote didn,t work I went to the front desk and complaied about it was told that they will send somone with one but three days passed and no tv remote .This is the most messed up place to live in .IF you have money to wast than spend it here ."

"This hotel I believe was misrepresented online. Their claim of $250,000 in renovations cannot possibly be true. We arrived and were surprised and dismayed on seeing our room. It was beachfront as advertised but that was the only truth. We decided since already paid we would give it a chance. Major mistake on our part. To say it was poor housekeeping would be an understatement. Mgmt was rude and unhelpful. After two days we transferred to another hotel. Funny, hotel we went to evidently was owned by same group but very different and amazingly improved over the first. Would never stay here again. "

"For an inexpensive beach front hotel it was a very pleasant place with a excelent view. It would not be a place I would bring kids for on spring break but any other time would be excelent. As a reminder I would definitly bring a air mattress or egg crate for the beds. It was so stiff we all almost rathered slept on the floor. Besides that we would most definitly come back for a stay again. Next time since we were returning customers we will be trying to upgrade to condos across the street."

"The Seahaven on the Reef is a 'Dump' My son and his wife stayed here on a
(4) day vacation. Room with kitchenette had no coffee maker in it...Really! I travel
with my job and this was the first place that did not provide quality room service.
Had to ask to have room cleaned every day and they don't clean the floors,tables,shower etc...Had two queen beds and they only made one up.. LOL
Will not recommend this hotel to anyone!

"This place is gross....the beds were horrible, like broken down, felt like springs were about to pop out, the room was not clean when we checked in, found insects in sheets, yes they changed the sheets, the comforter had stains, yes they changed that too, the shower was messed up and water would stand in tub which did not look clean, maint man said that was normal since it was a 50 yr old bldg & plumbing, the ac leaked so they had a big blower in room to dry carpet, the tv didnt work, yes they changed it too, the phone in the room did not work ....the ac was so loud that sleep was almost impossible....not sure what kind of critter ran across the floor....so NO I will not stay in there again & I have told my friends to stay away....of course I was never offered a discount, refund or offer to find another place to stay...[the pool deck had lots of cracks & missing concrete]... the sign boasted remodeled rooms....my goodness what did it look like before....very disgusted & dissapointed Resort, that is a joke.....and VERY OVERPRICED....."

"This hotel was not what we expected. It was absoulutley disquisting. The floors were matted and dirty. The unit smelled like mildew . The patio was half painted and it was so gross I had to wear shoes just to not quiver. The worst part was the fact that both of the beds in the room were broke down and we basically slept on the floor. Thank god for blow up mattresses. The thing that really made it horrible was the fact that the dune mice were everywhere and I even recorded them outside our room on our patio. Yes, mice can climb up in your room. WE counted 50 before we stopped. I understand that mice and rodents are part of nature but that was so strange. I have never ever seen so many mice in one area. They were even crawling on the ground and in the trash cans. Thank God our room was on the 3rd floor because if they had enter our room off the patio i honestly think I would had a stroke. We advised the front office of our broke bed and it wasn't ever fixed. We also adivsed of the mice. They made no efforts to help us or even refund part of our fees. I will never stary here again.... Oh and the parking sucks. You share it with the Sharky's customers and thats a mess.
I called book it and they said to call the Reef and they said to call book it so sounds to me like no one wants the blame or to even take repsponsibility for this crappy hotel.

"I really enjoyed my stay,this hotel is a Great economy hotel, the rooms are plain but efficient, the AC was very cold and I really liked the improvements made since last year. The parking is horrible in front of the hotel but there is additional parking right across the street, Sharkys restaurant is one of the Best places to eat at PCB and they have Great Entertainment nightly which makes up for any inconvience with the parking.So if you want a nice place to stay on the beach that doesn't cost alot this is it."

"this hotel was disgusting. The tile floor in front of the 'kitchenette' was always wet. There was not a coffee maker, only a small frig and microwave. Even though we put out the 'need maid service' sign, our room never got cleaned and I had to request clean towels. If these rooms are 'recently remodeled', I would hate to see what they looked like before. The ceiling was literally falling off, and the bathroom was disgusting. The only thing I appreciated was that the hard as cement mattresses still had the plastic on them-hopefully that eliminates bugs."

"Paper thin walls, could hear people using the restroom frequently, and I am not talking about just hearing a toilet flush! Very noisy neighbors and when we reported the noise they wanted to move US, at 2 a.m. so that we could wake everybody else up in the hotel. Street noise was very bad,large stain on sheets and top sheet in same locality proved that sheets had not been changed. I certainly didn't see anything that looked recently remodeled. Felt that I had been misled."

"The hotel is very old and run down. One of our double beds was broken in the middle, the mattresses are very old and worn out. Sink wouldn't drain. Needed an air mattress for our extra child which the provided but it took 4 hours to get it and it came with no sheets or pillows. I had to ask 3 times to get it. The door handle was about to fall apart. I would never recommend staying at any price. It may be right on the beach but not worth staying. Not enough parking."

"The hotel is very old. THe plus is that it is right on the beach and one can see the sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. I actually got some beautiful sunset photos right outside my room. ALso, most mornings, if you are up early enough, you can see the dolphins playing outside in the water while having coffee on the balcony. I would consider staying there again. Very limited parking. No carts to take your luggage to your room. Parking lot is available across the street for overflow."

"The hotel was ok. It was aggravating when the water wouldn't go out of the tub because the tub kept stopping up. The next door neighbors were very loud and normally I don't hear what go on in another room. The hotel do need some updating. I called for towels and got them a hour later. The view was nice. You have your own balcony and it is directly on the beach."

"This has to be the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. I think it is only there for people who don't plan on sleeping or taking a bath in their hotel room. There was no remote to the t.v., no chairs on the patio, the shower head barely worked, and the drain in the tub would not drain so the water almost overflowed everytime we used the shower. They came to 'fix' it, but it was never really fixed. Not to mention you have to fill out this inverntory sheet within 30 minutes of check-in. I mean really who is going to steal the air condition or the railing on the patio. Then we had to wait for them to come and inspect the room before we could leave. They took $250 out of our checking account for a deposit in case something got torn up. I have stayed at a lot nicer places and have never had them take money out before, always just kept a card in case. get real!"

"disgusting. urine on bed sheets, you can hear everything your neighbors do, a couple unfriendly staff members. this hotel was not even worth the price you pay! don't recommend it at all! we left a couple nights early because you can't sleep because of all the noise you hear from your neighbors!! "Our room was clean and pretty nice for the price...we hd all we needed. Had a little trouble with the door keys when we first got there but it was taken care of riht away. Had a good expericence there except all the rain. Will consider going back for sure."

"We recently spent 3 nights at America's Best Value Inn Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, and we were very pleased with everything. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and efficient. They were also very helpful and happily answered all of our questions about area attractions. All of the rooms have a full gulf view. We watched dolphins swim every morning from our balcony, and took the very short walk from our room to the water for a nice walk to get each day started. The atmosphere is casual and everyone we met seemed every bit as happy as we were to be there. It's not luxuries or fancy, but it's cozy and a tremendous value. We can't wait to go back. With such affordable rates, we can come back more often. A very nice time was had by all!!!! Thanks America's Best and Book It!"

"Great location, older hotel, but wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Had an issue with our room as the tub/shower ran continuously and could not be turned off. Even with that, was still a nice stay. If you are looking to stay in the Panama City Beach area, I'd give this hotel serious consideration."

"Older motel, but very clean. The whole staff was great. This was one of the most friendly places I have stayed. Of course it could use alittle updating, but I'll take clean and friendly over fancy with dirt in the corners anyday."
