"My wife & I stayed at the SeaHaven Beach Hotel in Panama City Beach FL from 4-19 thru 4-21-13 for the Seabreeze Jazz Festival weekend, (awesome music, great atmosphere). Unfortunately the hotel needs extensive renovating, maintenance care and the housekeeping staff is a bunch of very young high school or college students who might be contracted and have absolutely NO clue of housekeeping skills. They did nothing except leave a couple bath towels, no wash cloths, no hand towels, no toilet paper, no soap, did not make up beds let along vacuum. The beach view balcony had broken light fixtures which means if you wanted to sit out there at night you needed a flashlight, candle or a battery lamp; room had light switches that did not work, front door had to be repaired in order to lock it and the list just goes on and on and on. *One good thing the front desk staff was very nice & helpful and understood the hotel needs a lot of work internally and externally. We do not plan any future stays at this hotel until it has a complete renovation overhaul along with a new housekeeping staff and we would not recommend it to anyone at this time. Just being honest and the saying 'you pay for what you get' is absolutely true. Have a good day. 4-22-13"

"This is one of the worst hotels in panama city. The rooms were old and out dated. The room my family and I had was poorly clean prior to our arrival. The hotel ran out of linen so we had to wait till after lunch to get clean towells. The elevator become malifunctioned so we had to walk 7 flight of stairs to get to our room. The hotel have many young teenagers working which were friendly but gave poor service. I would strongly recommend to find another hotel before chosing this time one"

"Well I would have to say that most of the comments are right on. On the other hand, you do get what you pay for. I am native to panama city, and moved a few years back, I went home to go to my god-daughters wedding, and booked a room at seahaven, tried to change it after all the bad reviews. But could not. To my suprise they actually put me on the floor I requested and the kind of room I requested. After saying that, the floor was horrendus! My feet were black after walking barefoot, and even sticky when I put my flip flops on. It could use a renovation like yesterday! In it's day it was a nice hotel I am sure, but with all the high rises around it now, they should consider it. The ONE and ONLY elevator was kinda scarey, couldn't read the numbers on it, it shook and shaked, and they have ONE ice maker on the 2nd floor, that dropped like 3 pieces of ice at a time.
If you are looking for a budget hotel for just you, then it's not too bad, I would not have stayed there if my kids and husband would have been with me. The staff were very friendly, but most of us southern people are. Can't hold it against them that the owner doesn't do anything to fix it up. "

"HORRIBLE!!! Do not waste your time and money! We arrived early and had to wait until check in time, which was fine. We got to our room and the carpet was SOAKED! The ceiling was leaking in the living area and in the bathroom. They had a trash can on the bed trying to catch the water leaking from the ceiling. It was also hot and smelled terrible! We went to the office, they gave us another room. That room stunk, was dirty, and HOT. If we left we would lose the cost of one night stay. This was not our fault, why should we be penalized and have to pay for one night?!? We ended up getting a 3rd room, it was better than the first 2, but still not a nice room. But, we couldn't afford to lose the money for one night and pay extra for a different place. This was a horrible experience."

"This was our first family vacation with our 2 year old. When we arrived at 1:30 AM, our sheets were stained and we had to visit the front desk twice...once for clean sheets, then again because the sheets they gave us were too small. Bad smell pretty much everywhere. There were NO renovations as advertised. In fact, our room looked like was 100 years old. Room service couldn't get on a schedule apparently, because they showed up 2-3 times a day. A couple of times they knocked on our door like the police because they smelled marijuana in the room NEXT DOOR...REALLY people?? We have kids in our room....are you serious?? Go bother the younger crowd that was just staying a few doors away!!! The playground they show in the pictures is actually at Sharky's, not the hotel. And Sharky's is NOT right next door, although it is within walking distance. Either way, I would not bother with this MOTEL. We cut our trip short because we were eager to go home and shower! Overall, don't come here. You will pay just as much at a nicer establishment. And the staff was extremely unempathetic to our needs. You can tell they don't like their jobs much. OH, and the pool is on the side of the building...we didn't even see it until our last day. Can't forget about the TV...it was like a 14' flat screen...you have to squint your eyes to see it!Anyhoo, I wouldn't waste my time here!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"We booked Seahaven last minute. We got a Fantastic rate. Our room was a kitchenette, looking right out over the Beautiful ocean! We arrived early and the lady at the front desk told us we could go to the pool or ocean and she would let us know when our room was available. Almost immediately we got our room. She is also very knowledgable about many places we wanted to go and gave us good directions. The maid kept our room clean and stocked all week even changing our bed sheets when we got sand in them. Someone came immediately to unclog the tub when we called,which never gave us any more problems. Someone's razor head was stuck in it. The reviews I read had me scared! The Seahaven is my new favorite place to stay! The view was Awesome, the air had to be turned down,very cold and nice, the staff were all very friendly and went overboard for anything we requested! It had a small stove with oven, perfect for all the cooking we did so we didn't have to spend hours out eating. It had a full size refrigerator,for all our cold drinks and food. The pool was nice and steps from the ocean! Love it and will return !"

"My husband and I came to PCB for a last minute vacation before schools started. We loved it!! We loved the seahaven beach hotel, they were very nice, the room was very nice, it was well within our price range. We didn't come to PCB looking for the nicest hotel so seahaven isn't the nicest but it isn't the worst either. It is just right!! "I read the previous reviews and must say I was a little scared! To my surprise, it was a great experience! We arrived 3 hours before check in and decided to stop in and ask if they could call us to let us know when our room was available. They said they had one available now and we could go ahead and check in! That was impressive! The staff was wonderful! The elevator is slow and old but it did the job. Our room smelled and looked very clean when we walked in. The rooms are older but everything was functional and suited our needs just fine. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean! The door to the balcony was rusty from the salty air so it took a little effort to open and close but for the price and the view.. we didnt mind that! We enjoyed our stay and we will be back next year!"

"We stayed here because a friend refferred us. There is a lot I need to say but the first thing is that the staff is the friendliest and most helpful we have encountered which is the only reason we didnt run for the hills. The hotel however...When we arrived we realized we were on the pool side of the hotel which has no elevator. There are only 4 floors but sometimes after dragging 2 small kids around on the beach all day you just want that leisure. The elevator was on the far side of the hotel away from everything. When we arrived at our room it was a little older(which was ok) but the water/rust stains everywhere were a little gross. The toilet barely flushed, the towel rack was broke,and the sink knob was broke. Those are just the things we tried to use. We walked out on our balcony and my 'mommy radar' immediately went off about the rail on the balcony. My 4 1/2 year old could slide his body sideways through the rail. The same night he demonstrated that he could also slip his head through.We immediately made a rule that the kids were not allowed outside without us for any reason. They usually like to sit at night or in the morning and eat their meals there. My son is average size for his age. I did complain to the staff about the room and the rail and they called over to Origins to see if we could get in there. They advised that it would be a little more and extra fees.(We had another friend mention this as a downside to that property). She also offered to move us to the first floor but this would defeat the purpose of an upper level. In the end we bit the bullet and stayed. An upside to this hotel is that with your room card kids eat free at Sharkys and Hammer Head Freds. The card says free kids meal with purchase of adult meal on the card. We had no problems with using it at Sharkys but Freds will not allow you to use it unless you order off of the Entree menu. We ordered Sandwich baskets. We have not been to PCB in about 10 years because we usually go to Myrlte Beach. We may end up heading east again at least for a few years."

"Our room smelt horrid. Undoubtedly the floor had gotten wet, and the hotels fix was a humidifier in our room. Our air conditioner barely worked. We would have been better off showering with a water hose with as little preasure that came out. Very bad experience, will never ever go back and would not recommend this hotel to anyone!"

"We were a little concerned about the reviews we had read, but decided to give it a try. I have found in the past that people are looking for a 5 star resort for a 2 or 3 star price. Upon arrival to the hotel our first impression was this is not as bad as we read. We entering the lobby, I was greeted, he was very nice and helpful. We had arrived an hour before check-in but I figured I'd see if they had a room for us anyway. He checked and gave me several options on rooms on different floors, I had never stayed here so any floor would have been fine. He suggested we go on the 4th floor because the view was awesome and he was right. This hotel is a bit older and probably should be renovated, but our room was exactly what we booked, it was clean and did not smell like the reviews stated. I began inspecting the room to ensure everything was ok. We had four people and only three place settings and chairs, but when I called the desk they worked quickly to get us another place setting and chair. It was difficult at times to get towels and wash clothes when they were cleaning our rooms, but they always delivered them before we came back to the room. The shower in the room was terrible, they had a better shower as you exited the beach. The beds were not all that comfortable, but whose bed ever is when it's not your own %uF04A. It was a little disappointing there was no coffee maker or toaster in our room. My wonderful husband made a trip down to the lobby every morning to get us coffee. For our first trip to Panama City Beach, we were pleased with the hotel, area attractions and will return for future vacations. I would recommend putting your stuff on the beach early to ensure a good spot as they are limited in front of the hotel due to the unused chairs with umbrellas and the jet ski zone. It was a pain trying to ensure the ocean did not push our children in that zone. If you are looking for a budget, family friendly hotel then The Seahaven is a great place to visit. We will visit next year and will be bringing more family. Thanks for making this vacation enjoyable."

"I recently stayed at this hotel and it was horrible. Never again will we stay there. We actually left a day early cause we couldn't stand it. Was never able to get wash clothes I had to call everyday for them and the front desk would tell me some will be brought right up and never was. Needless to say i had to go out and buy our own. We had two beds and only one was ever made and no new linens were ever put on. The a/c hardly put out any cool air and the vents had mold in them and around it. I do not recommend this place. The health department should condem this place."

"I had previously stayed at Seahaven last year with my boyfriend based on a friend's recommendation. We had such a great time. The staff, service, hotel and everything was perfect. This time however I came down with my friend and we had a horrible experience. Everyday we had to call down or walk down to the office to get fresh towels and our room cleaned. Even after doing that we wouldn't get our room cleaned or fresh towels. We had to go down there everyday at least 2 to 3x to get some assistance. The shower was leaking and half the towel rack fell of the wall when we placed a towel on it. We barely got our toliet paper restocked or kleenex. The room was dirty and the kitchen sink would not drain properly. On top of that there were alot of cockroaches around the hotel and on our balcony. We were on the fourth floor too. The guests were rowdy next to us and kept pounding on our door and jiggling the doorknob. This was at night too. We almost called the front desk and police. It seems like a more rowdy, drunk crowd stays at this hotel or something. Overall horrible experience no staff efficiency and poor cleanliness. I would never stay again."

"As a prior Seahaven guest (at another location), we decided to give this hotel a try. We wanted 'beach front' rooms...and we got them on beach level. That was the only good thing about the hotel. This hotel is in dire need of a complete renovation if not demolition and rebuild. The floors were disgusting...our feet were BLACK and we had worn our shoes and wash our feet every night (even after bathing) before going to bed. We had no coffee maker, no wifi, towels and wash clothes were given on day 2, and only once did our beds get made..oh, wait, only one bed was ever made. The a/c broke on the second night, when we called maintenance, were told he would be there that morning. He came, we still had no a/c, and so we called again. At 8:00 pm, we went to the office and they offered to move us to another room, to the 4th floor, this would no longer give us beach level rooms, and we would have to move all of our things up there. So we suggested they remove the a/c from that room and put it in our room, they did. At about 9:30 that night we had a/c. The shower had no pressure, but we managed. The door that led to the beach could be opened with a hard turn on the knob, unbeknownst to us the lock was not working! Here is the big whopper. My mother's purse was gone through and all her cash was stolen. When we reported this to the front desk, they were quick to show us the "standard... hotel clause indicating they were not responsible for personal belongings, not to mention their honest employees that would fess up and tell the truth. The manager of the hotel offered us a $40 Sharky's restaurant voucher/on the last night we were there!! The pictures and descriptions of this hotel do NOT correctly depict this hotel; they are the exact opposite of what you will get. We will never return to a Seahaven property again, regardless of the cost."

"Would not recommend to friends at all. Pictures are misleading. The first room we were in, the tv did not work. We were told it would be in the morning before they could get it fixed. We asked to be moved to another room. They moved us to another room. The carpet was dirty. Our children's feet were BLACK. Light bulb was blown on the balcony, went to front desk and they said they would get somebody to replace. NEVER did. If you are looking for a cheap way to stay on beach front in Panama City Florida, this will work. Not a very family oriented hotel. Parking was awful. ONLY had Wifi in the lobby."

"Ok, well the beach location is wonderful. The beach is right there and beautiful. However, it is not really a family friendly location. The strip noise starts early and you can hear it well into the night. The rooms have outside entrances so you hear it all. The hotel itself is really old and has not been well taken care of. The rooms are spacious but beds are old and uncomfortable. The kitchen did not have enough dishes for four and we had to use bathroom towels as hand towels. The bathroom was dark and the shower head had no water pressure , in fact the outside showers had better pressure. The most disappointing is the cleanliness of the floors. They were disgusting. Our little one had to be wiped down constantly because her legs, arms, and feet were black from the layers of grime on the carpet. Not worth the money we had to pay, if you were to get a good deal and you were looking to party I would say you were ok but otherwise not recommended! "

"We enjoyed our stay..nothing fancy at all, but effiient. Only wish for a coffee pot in the room. Beach was awesome, Tropical Storm Debby was stirring up a bit just as we were leaving. "The view was awesome! The room was poor. Old matresses, filthy carpet and a patio that was rusty with peeling paint and water on floor from the window ac. Our door keys only worked half of the time and we seldom got shampoo, coffee or cups for the coffee maker. The staff at the front desk was very nice."

"The staff was very nice and helpful when possible, but other than that the hotel was a mess. The carpets were very dirty and my sons socks were black from walking on the carpet. It was not very quiet with people slamming their outside doors. The cabinets in the kitchenette smelled funny. It was a cheap place to stay and as I always say, you get what you pay for. I will pay more for a place where I feel comfortable with my kid sitting on the floor next time."

"I agree with everyone else about needing to be updated but it really wasn't that big of a deal. The 2nd night I was kept awake by some young people above us making alot of noise but I didn't complain to the front desk. We were on the 2nd floor and the view was beautiful. Balcony door was hard to unlock & lock so we just kept it unlocked. The beds were actually pretty comfortable. If you are use to staying at a Hilton hotel or Marriott by all means pass it up. But if you are okay with a hotel like Days Inn or Best Western you will be just fine!"

"It wasn't bad. Really. When I walked into the room, I was instantly taken back to Spring Break 1994.......beacuse that was probably the last time the room was renovated. The hotel needs a MAJOR overhaul. The plumbing and the electrical outlets were all jacked up. The view was nice and I adored being close to Sharky's and the staff was super, super nice. I put that I wouldn't recommend to a friend or return but, the truth is, I just don't know. I mean...if I ever get another weekend get-a-way with my hubs, then I probably would but I certainly won't bring my kids and I would bring my own bedding....just sayin'"

"The staff was very friendly. It was right on the Gulf. That's about all the nice things I can say. This hotel is in serious need of a facelift. Run down room, run down furnishings. 75% of the lights never worked. Curtains to balcony were ripped, dirty and old. Drawer in dresser broken. You advertised King Suite w/sofa sleeper in living area. Not true - there was a full size bed in the living area. Not what I was looking for. If this is part of the Oasis/Seahaven family, they should be embarrassed."

"Great view is the only good thing I can say about the Seahaven Beach Hotel. The place needs a major overhaul. Nothing works corrcetly from plumbing to plug ins. Don't waste your money. We paid extra for a kitchenette that was from the 60's with No Coffeemaker. I had to go and buy one. The front desk says that they do not provide them even though it was listed on website as being in the room. We will not stay at the Seahaven again."

"The greeter there is the best greeter I have ever incountered. After 11 hours on the road he made everything great for us. Any problems during the visit were always taken care of once I let shawn know of my problem. Reported problems to others with no answers. He had towels to my room before I got back to it. "My trip was good except for the fact of not having access to a mini refrigerator. When I made my reservations online, it said they had mini refrig's in the rooms. Also, I put in special instructions to make sure I had a mini refrig in my room. Once we checked in, there was no refrigerator. I called the front office and they said they didn't have mini refrig in any rooms. I would have got a kitchenette if I had known this. I don't think I will stay at that hotel again. The air conditioner didn't seem to work properly."

"This was my second stay at seahaven beach hotel, and for the price you can't beat it! I love the location and the short walk to the beach, volleyball, jot skis, and banana boats. The rooms are always clean, always came in from a long day to a fresh room.... To make our stay even better a small fridge and microwave would have been nice.... But we knew we didn't have that going in! Even though the seahaven is an older hotel, we will stay there again!"

"Overall, our experience was good. The location is great With many places to eat at around you. Pier park is only about 2 miles away so it's also walking distance away. The staff was very friendly and we had our room cleaned everyday, as well as got our clean towels daily. This hotel, though, had a lot of teenagers (many drunk ones) which made it a little hard to sleep if you are someone who goes to bed at a descent time. The room is by the road so you are able to hear the vehicles passing by. When we first arrived, the man at the counter told me the deposit is 250$ and if everything checks out at the last day, we will get all of our money back. When I checked out and our room was completely clean and without any damage, the lady told me 25$ wasn't refundable. I wish that's something I would of known."

"First I will start with we all had a good time staying at Seahaven Beach Hotel. There were only a few things that they could have improved on. 1. Cooking utensil were very limited. They have grills but nothing to use to put food on or to take off of the grill and there was not a baking pan for bread. 2. The beds were a little too hard. 3. The floors were not the cleanest and I speculate that the floors are only cleaned once a week. I say this because there was a piece of seaweed in the bathroom floor 4 days out of the 8 days that we were there. But we just wore our flip flops around the room in order to keep our feet from turning black. Out of these few things I would like to suggest that tile flooring be put down throughout the entire room and a swiffer or broom and dust pan frunished with the rooms so we can clean them to our liking. Now on to the positive: We had a great time and a spectacular view from our fourth floor room! We arrived three hours early and were able to check into our rooms without any delay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Anytime we asked for something special like extra towels we were always accommodated. We did enjoy our stay and we would be likely to stay there again. A special thanks to Sherry at the front desk for getting us our room for an extra night! "

"The good: nice beach, family atmosphere, Sharkys restaurant fun and good food. The bad:Motel dirty! Carpets so bad if you walk barefoot soles of feet turn black. Plumbing very poor, one elevator located all the way at the end of motel away from everything you might want. This would be a good motel for someone to buy and remodel. Oh and $35 to rent a umbrella and chairs for 1 day."

"Location, parking and STAFF was excellent! But... Rooms need renovation badly. Maybe new dry wall, tile floors throughtout the entire room instead of carpet and one piece showers with rust free towel hangers. I will not stay there again but if they renovate I will definetly come back and be willing to pay extra. Not bad for a girls weekend! I don't recommend for families."

"To be completely honest I was very disappointed. The pictures I seen on line of the hotel were deceiving. I was on a weekend get away for my anniversary with my husband and thought I would be staying in a place a little nicer. It felt like I needed to disinfect the room with clorox wipes. The room had a fowl odor, we had to bang on the tv to get it to stop flickering in and out. The towels where hung outside of the bathroom. The set up was just inconivient. The linens had seen there better days. I would have gladly spent more money to have a nicer place to lay my head. This was a hotel I would have chose for a spring break getaway in my teens. On a positive note, the staff where very polite and the beach was beautiful."

"The room was dirty! The bottom of our feet was totally black from walking in the room. I wore socks the entire time & had to throw the socks away because they were so filthy!! On arrival, the sheets on one of the beds were dirty. We asked for 'full service cleaning' the following day - after they cleaned, there was trash in bathroom floor, dirty cups left in the sink, & the linen had not been changed. Some places are both economical & clean, this is not one of those places! We definitely can not recommend & will not stay there again!!"

Because tourist cities often have run down accomodations, especially when Spring Breakers frequent the area, the hotels endure a lot of wear and tear. "The hotel is old and run down, the beds were horrible you could feel the springs. Stayed in a suite. Very noisy from traffic. Had to wait on elevator numerous times due to cleaning staff using it. It is not walker friendly to Pier Point if you have small children, no sidewalks. The Staff was very friendly."

"This is our second trip to Panama City Beach and our second time staying at Seahaven beach hotel. We absolutely love it! The room is so affordable we usually end up staying another night. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The other guests staying at the hotel are always friendly and there are plenty of families there allowing the kids to have fun playing with new friends on the beach. The room we stayed in both times was a walk right out on the beach and a beautiful view to wake up to every morning. The hotel is right next to Sharkys restaurant one of our favorite places to eat and great to walk to on the beach. The hotel is also very close to pier park for all the shopping and local tourism we could want. We will stay here every time we come to Panama City beach."

"After reading all the reviews bad and good I decided I needed to make that opinion myself. Upon arrival I found my room neat, and clean, with a light smell from bleach. The staff all of them that I encountered were extremely friendly. Daily service was normal, did have a hard time getting them to leave coffee in the room but no big deal. The view was great, stayed on the 4 th floor. Check in and out was easy and fast. The lobby has juice and coffee daily, and internet use for the guest. I will definately stay again on my next trip. The hotel is within walking distance to the pier where we watched the dolphins swim and at Pier Park and all the shops, plus food places. My first trip to FL was a great one!! 10/8/11 to 10/16/2011"

"The checkin and checkout times are not the greatest. I had a wedding and that was the reason I stayed and I barely made it on time because of the late checkin time. Also 10:00 is too early to try and get everything together and still spend time at the pool and beach before you leave the hotel. Other than that my stay was great!"

"I travel to Panama City Beach several times per year. I alway stay at this property. It is vintage, but clean and the staff is very friendly. The pool is nice and the beach is steps away. Every room is on the beach, either walk out to it from your room or private balcony. Sharkys, next door, has excellent seafood and great atmosphere.
Do not expect gleeming new anything here, it is one of the original beach hotels. But, thats how I like it. You loose the personality of the area at the new fancy highrise resorts, this place takes me back to being a kid and traveling to the beach."

"Seahaven was just what we expected from reading other reviews: Great location, Great value, friendly staff, but a bit 'worn'. We had a 2-room King Suite facing the beach (all rooms face the beach) with a full-sized fridge and stove, plus microwave and coffee pot. It's a very good value and we would definitely go there again. As for the 'worn' part, well, it was nothing drastic and nothing that really bothered us. The elevator was a bit shabby, dresser drawers didn't operate right, a small crack in the bathroom sink and some rust on the side of the fridge. But none of that bothered us and we thought it was excellent for the price. Beautiful beach and convenient location. Pool looked nice, though we didn't use it. They are very generous with the towels, and the maid service was perfect. Best of all, the pillow-top king bed was awesome!! Best bed I've had in a hotel, EVER."

"Just stayed a week at Seahaven Beach Hotel with wife. We had a king suite. Every room at the hotel has a great oceanfront view and easy access to the beach. The room was a little dated, but had been kept clean and everything worked fine. For the price, it was more than we could have expected. Right next door to Sharky's is a plus as well. The balcony was small, but private. The pool is small but clean. For what ever reason, the front doors to the rooms must be slammed in order to close all the way so the noise from people slamming their front door was a little annoying. Also, some painting and remodeling was going on and was a little noisy, but at least they are updating. Overall a very good experience and I would come back again in great part due to the staff. No frills, no luxuries, but everything you need for a nice stay at a budget price right on the beach.

"We stayed at Seahaven Beach Hotel. It's a GREAT place to stay. We were right on the beach and the sunsets were sooo pretty. The room was clean and staff was great. It is in a great location to Pier Park and of course Margaritaville where I spent my birthday....We will go back and stay at Seahaven again...AAAAA."

"Enjoyed my recent visit to PCB. The hotel was a good value and in a great location with a clean pool. However, the night desk clerk was a disapointment. I was not welcomed nor asked if there was anything I needed. BTW if you are receiving any free bonus drinks, coupon books, etc.... you have to ask for them.
The carpet was dirty and the room phone did not work but I have stayed in worse for more $$.
Overall was a good deal."

"'We had a wonderful trip. Seahaven was a great place too stay, very clean and very affordable. It is a little outdated, but I guess that is why it is affordable. The view from the 4th floor was great. I would definitely recommend it as a place to stay and will probably stay there again in the future.'"

"after reading some of the revues ,we were somewhat apprehensive about our choice.but our stay at seahaven was wonderful! the rooms and staff were very nice! we were taken care of from the time we walked into the lobby.cleaning checked on us every morning to see what we needed.,,,it is an older hotel,,but who wants to stay on the 15th floor of a high rise? our balcony on the 2nd floor looked right out to a beautiful view of the beach!,,it was soo nice ,we stayed an extra nite!!,,,definetely recommend this hotel!!,,,with soo much to do,,who needs to pay extra for a large hotel with a bar in the lobby and an exercise room?"
