"Now I know why you call this Paradise...it really is! We just checked out today and did not want to leave. I thought it was perfect. The room was very clean, loved the view with the private balcony, loved the clean pools, and even the bedding was pretty. Everywhere I looked, there were staff working. One watering plants, another one cleaning the pool area. The pool guy even opened the gate for us this morning. The lobby staff were very friendly. The breakfast this morning was more than even advertised, including coffee, juice, milk, oatmeal, grits, cereal, muffins, and biscuits. We are from Wisconsin and I researched and researched for a nice place to stay for one night on the beach. The rest of our time here was with family . The view was breathtaking. I must admit I was hesitant with some of the mixed reviews but gave it a try. I will absolutely be making every future stay at Paradise Palms! Thank you so much for helping to make our beach night a memorable one!"

"Let me just say, you get what you pay for. The price was nice. But the room was small and moldy. There wasn't even a microwave or fridge in the room. The best part was that it was beach front. It was noisy all night. The hotel needa major renovations. I would never go there again. The staff was very friendly though."

"Was a clean room with easy access to beach. Staff work on a door next to our room until 9 PM keeping us up. The free morning coffee and donut was very unsat. Had coffee but only enough donuts for a limited number of people. Other guest continuiously woke us up at night with loud conversations at all hours. Last night there we could not wait to check out."

Monday thru Thursday Constant construction which was not communicated by either bookit or the front desk at time of check in. Jack hammer overhead as they chipped the concrete off the balcony of the rooms above. Falling concrete onto our bottom floor patio, and chairs. Manager said he would offer an discount,Todate no discount has been forth coming.
The 4 days were so unacceptable that we had to leave the room daily to get relief from the noise of drilling, jack hammer and hammering. When booking always do so via phone call and inquire into construction or other events going on at the hotel."

"We really enjoyed our stay there. We had a ground floor beach side room and the view was gorgeous. The room was really pretty and big with a nice patio and chairs and access to the beach. The pools were the prettiest I have ever seen, We took lots of beautiful pictures. We would definitely stay there again. Breakfast was awesome. They had a variety of almost everything you would want."

"My only complaint is how loud the music was at the pool area. It was on an automatic timer which began at 9am and was shut off around 9pm. The problem was our room was next to the pool. We woke up to 'booming' speakers and layed down to the same thing. I couldnt turn the TV up loud enough to drown out the sound. It is fine if you are at the pool area or on your balcony but not fine when you are trying to sleep. But the room was great and the pool was beautiful. We would definately stay here again just farther away from the pool area. Easy and quick check in/check out. The staff was great...Cant wait to return!!"

"I stayed at this hotel on 01-25 and left 01-27. The staff was very friendly. The room were nice and big. We got two rooms for my family and other family members. We got joint rooms and had a great experience. The balcony at the hotel was nice and big. Had a beautiful view of the ocean. The beds were nice. Bathroom was okay but at least the shower was great b/c water was very good. The key card entries into the room were okay. The price was great. The best part were the pools! Can't beat those! I will definitely stay here again! Breakfast was served but you had to to go Days Inn to get it. Parking was small but it worked for the off season."

"We asked for extra towels on Tuesday around 5:00 pm. We got them when I called again on Wednesday morning to ask again and told them we never got them. The bathroom had grime built up around the tub and toilet. There was only one trash can in the room. My husband took one look at the room and stated that ,'they must have taken the picture for the internet the day they opened the hotel.' It was very run down looking."

"We had a great time at Paradise Palms. Everything was as pictured and described. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The lobby was very cute, and the rooms looked just the same. The pool areas were beach side and very clean. The water was chilly, but the kids didn't seem to mind. The hot tub was nice and warm. The property had a very tropical feel with many palm trees and nice music. Breakfast was as described and also included grits. oatmeal, and milk. The best part had to be the beautiful beach which was right outside the door. All rooms have a beach view that is basically gulf front. There are several steps down to the beach, but after that you are only 15-20 steps from the water. This area was especially nice for families with young children because it was very shallow for roughly 25-30 yards out and ran the length of the property. It was nice for the adults to be able to walk out and look for shells and watch the little fish swimming by. It was so much nicer than the typical stoll along the beach at the water's edge. It was amazing. We had a great time, met some nice folks, and recieved a great deal. Nothing's perfect, but we felt lucky to be where we were for such a small price. We are looking forward to another stay at Paradise Palms in the near future."

"Our trip to PCB during the fall Thunder Beach Bike Rally was especially enjoyable. Our stay at Paradise Palms was great. Room was clean, very roomy, beds were very comfortable, the pools and hot tub were immaculate, and the grounds were very well maintained. The staff, all the way from the front desk to the person who was sweeping up cigarette butts, was so helpful and polite. Kudos, Paradise palms staff and management. I have read a few negative reviews and frankly, I just dont see it..
Only ONE ISSUE: the music (which was awesome) at the smaller pool should not be turned on until at the LEAST 10 am... Our room was second floor, right over the pool, and with the doors shut, all we could hear of the music was the thump of the bass. We stayed out late every night and would have loved to sleep in, at least on Sunday morning. but that 'thump thump' woke us every morning way too early. thats my reason for the 4 on 'overall experience'
Other than that, our stay was most amazing. We had friends at 2 other motels, and they were so jealous and disappointed with their accomodations, once they visited us. AND we even paid less than they did. They say next time they are staying at PARADISE PALMS...
And the pirate was pretty cool too. He was nice and polite and we had a great picture session with him and his 'boy' . My mom, teenagers and 21 year old son had a great time.. (only mom and I stayed at PP, but the boys came to visit) Thanks for the memories. "

"for the amount i spent, it was a decant room. However, you need to pay extra everyday for a microwave. Our room was decantly clean when we got there. The negativers was food leftover in the refrig that didn't work, a coffe maker that didn't work, and the 'free breakfast' wasn't worth going to. The positives is the beach-front scene which was wonderful! The beds were comfy and we had plenty of towels for our stay. We're right next to many fun spots to go to, making up for our room's faults. We got what we paid for, we saved a lot getting this hotel. If you stay here, bring a cooler to keep anything you need cold, and don't count on a good cup of coffee here."

"We were looking for a cheap price for a quick trip. Paradise Palms fit that exactly. The view is breathtaking from the room. The A/C was loud, but at least it was cold. The bathroom does need updating, but overall pretty clean. The pool was nice and there were enough chairs if you got there in the am. The breakfast was donuts, grits, oatmeal, coffee, juice, this was ok, but more than we expected for the price of the room. If you just want the view and the beach, it is a great place to stay. If you're looking for the Mariott, this is so not it! We got soap every day and our room was cleaned every day. You have to put the sign on the door for the maid to clean it though. No problem there. Parking was no problem and our key card worked just fine. We would have liked to have wi-fi in the room instead of going to the lobby."

"We arrived at 3:30 and were told they were running behind, so we waited in the lobby which was freezing cold. At 4:15 we were checked in and went to our room where the key didn't work. the numbers on the doors were strange, our actual room number didnt look like it was supposed to, the door opened but it was apparent the room was occupied. After two trips to the desk we still couldn't get in. Someone came down and told us that we were at the back door which had a security lock and couldn't be opened with the key card. We told them the room opened with the card. They took us around to the front door that faced the parking lot-the back door faced the beach. The property was shabby and run down but clean. The towels were threadbare. The air conditioner unit was very noisy. The beds were fairly comfortable. The bathroom was old and small but clean. The second day we were not given anymore soap or shampoo. The 'breakfast' was disgusting. The donuts stale, the coffee weak and bitter, the orange juice had an odd flavor like it had been sitting around too long. The view and location of the hotel were great but I wouldn't go back until the hotel is renovated and improved. It was nice to have the mini fridge. I have stayed at other motels for the same price and they had a much better atmosphere and breakfasts."

"Overall Nice Hotel, The room was clean and everything worked. Nice Gulf front view until the last day when Red Drift Algae washed up on the beach and ruined the beauty of the beach but that is nature at work not the hotel fault. The hotel had 2 nice pools, one of which was shared with their other hotel next door. Great parking available and nice staff and friendly housekeeping. I would stay here again. Great value for what you get and the Gulf view only feet from the ocean."

The hotel was decent but really needs updating, I dont really have too many complaints about the hotel other than that and i believe the rates were abit to high for the value. "The Paradise Palms was awesome. Very family friendly, security constantly monitoring. We did not have to worry about rowdy younger people keeping us up all night. My only complaint is that we booked 4 people to stay and every morning when housekeeping cleaned our room we received 4 towels and 3 washcloths; I think if my math is correct with 4 towels there should have obviously been 4 washcloths. Other than that we were pleasantly pleased with our stay! Highly recommend anyone with smaller children to stay here! The movies by the pool was a hit!"

"We love the location of the Paradise Palms. Our room was clean. It needed a coffee maker for those of us that like to get up before, 7:00. THe door facing the ocean wouldn't open with our key. THere was alot of loose tile around the outside of the rooms that needed repair. THey need to have more for breakfast than donuts and coffee. They also need ice machines that are closer to the rooms. For the price we paid it was well worth the money."

"The hotel staff was very accommodating. They let us check in early (1:30) and allowed us to check out late the following day.The staff was friendly and helpful as well. The hotel is definitely dated and can stand to get a lot of TLC. Our room was neat and clean. The location is a plus and the beach was wonderful which is what we came for. If I was on a budget and/or short notice (which was the case this time), I would return to this hotel."

"This hotel is located right on the beach with easy access. There is a nice pool with a hot tub (kind of dirty looking), and a bar. Movies were shown by the pool. Cookies and punch were provided with the movie.The breakfast was fat fat fat-- donuts and oatmeal were the only choice. The fridge took a good day to get everything cold, so bring an ice-chest. the security was great and staff friendly. I would recommend family go after Friday and Saturday, as there are many young partiers about. Security is on top of any bad happenings though. I think it is a bit dated, but excellent price for the location. If you are used to modern and fancy, this is not for you. If you are ok with simple comfort and no frufru then this place suits you well. It was clean, just not new."

"DO NOT EVER go to Paradise Palms, it is a COMPLETE DIVE!!!!!! We arrived checked in and an hour later we checked out! The place was a disaster, hair EVERYWHERE, gum on the wall, mold on the ceiling, paint peeling and plastic trimming pieces broken everywhere, my daughter found a cigarette in the pool water! I would NEVER recommend it to anyone and NEVER return! Parking is terrible. However, the staff did understand and reimburse me after an hour. I brought them to our room and showed them everything. Great location on the beach, but not a place to stay. It gets 2 out of 10..1 point for location, and 1 for staff efficiency...overall it was utterly disgusting."

"Just got back from our trip and have already booked another at Paradise Palms. I read many of the reviews before deciding to book at Paradise Palms, so hear is the low down. If you are used to staying at the Ritz, don't come. And FYI if you don't like teenagers, don't come during Spring Break! Or pay the big bucks to stay in an exclusive resort or condo. This is a family friendly, average Joe kind of place. Not too fancy, not the newest. But there are two pools for the kids, the lagoon pool with waterfalls, and the small pool, which plays movies in the evening. All rooms look out over the gulf with balconies. The staff was very friendly. Many shops within walking distance. The room when we arrived was clean, the beds were very comfortable. Staff could be seen always cleaning and maintaining the grounds. I came with my two teenage daughters and we all had a blast! I had never been to Panama City before, and it had been years since I had been to the beach, I cannot wait to go back!!!!"

"Except for a slow drain in the bath tub, our stay was very pleasant and very clean. However, would definetly try to change the date of our stay. The Days Inn next door, which shares the main pool, was over run by college age singles. I think it was Senior Week. There was entirely too many people 'partying' with giant mugs in the pool area. The staff, Days Inn and Paradice Palms, was not very strict in monitoring the drinking. Great stay and would do so again."

"This is a very old property. The rooms were Gulf side, showing the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. That was as far as the appeal went. We we arrived there the beds looked as if it was just made up with the sheets from the previous night still on them. We checked in Friday did not get room service Saturday. After returning from the Seabreeze Jazz Fest Sunday we finally called the front desk to get service for our room. The maid was extremely nice and polite. She did a wonderful job cleaning the room. Security was present but inside of the room the door leading to the beach could not be secured. The security measures that was on the door did not work. Overall, this was not a good experience at this property. I would not recommend this property to my colleagues who desire a get away to the beach."

"We decided to stay here because we were on a budget, and all the rooms were gulf front. Pretty view, decent parking, awesome pool, and the staff were nice, BUT, this hotel is old and the walls are thin. Plus the hotel allows 'spring breakers'. We didn't sleep a whole night the whole time we were there because our neighbors were party animals. We finally caved and called to complain on them our last night, but by the time security got there, they had already left the room. If you want to go to Panama City to party all night, stay here, because it won't matter who's staying next door to you (because you'll be out partying, lol). If you want to relax and sleep well, I'd recommend staying elsewhere."

"I was absolutely shocked when I checked in to my room. One word for this place--Dive. A total dive. The sheets and towels had to be older than me--complete with holes and stains. For the price they charged for this room they should have been ashamed. Really??? I lasted about 2 hours before just checking out and booking a room elsewhere. No way I could sleep there--I couldn't even make myself sit on the bed. If you are 18 and 6 of your friends want a cheap place on the beach, then this is probably the place for you...maybe... I will say the staff was very nice, but when I immediately checked out no effort was made to accommodate the situation in any way. Would NEVER go there and would NEVER recommend."

"Recently stayed here on a several state road trip. Supposedly our stay was supposed to be prior to the start of spring break.... spring break was in full drunken fashion when we arrived. Our room keys never worked whenever we tried to get into our rooms. Each time we had to go to the front desk who would tell us there wasn't a problem with them, but then reset them for us and they would work at least one time...on check out the front desk person tried to say it was the humidity....it was not humid while we were there. Water was dripping in the corners of the stairwells and in front of the steps from the ac which made it slippery and some mold. Our room had no coffee maker or clock as indicated in the amenities. Each night we had to call security to quiet the people in rooms next to ours so we could sleep for at least an hour. The hotel also wanted everyone to wear an armband which was more for security purposes for spring breakers. The room itself was hug but the shower was small and a tall person such as my co-traveler had to duck to shower. Overall, this was not an enjoyable experience."

"Me and my family will NEVER stay at the Paradise Palms again. When we made our reservations, we specifically asked about construction and were told that they had no construction going on. Well when we arrived the first thing we saw were the construction signs on all of the entrance doors, elevators and stairwells. We couldn't sleep past 7am due to the roof repairs. Our free breakfast was located at another hotel and so was the hot tub. Ther was no pirate and we had no hot water our last 2 days. The heated pool was as cold as the regular pool. We had NO blankets, just sheets and pillows. We asked for blankets and never recieved them. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!"

"We booked this hotel for customer reviews, location and the unbelievable great price. The check in quick and courteous, parking on the shaded deck a plus and the the view from the 4th floor room plain spectacular !!! The room was clean, the beds very comfortable and the tinted windows a great plus to keep out the hot sun. We enjoyed getting breakfast downstairs and eat it on our own balcony, overlooking the beach and watching Dolphins on some days. Life don't get much better than that. The staff was always friendly and quick to respond. Yes the hotel is older, but its well kept and for the price you can't go any better. We will be back for sure."

"My stay at the Paradise Palms was ok. The room was probably top of the line 20 years ago but needs to be modernized now. The ocean view from my room was amazing and the room was very clean. I enjoyed spending time on the balcony that overlooked the beach but not as often as I would have liked due to the cigarette smoke from other hotel guests. I suffer from asthma so the smoke coming from people smoking on balconies near mine aggrivated my condition. The towels in my room were dingy and had hair intertwined in their fibers. It was really disgusting as i toweled off after my shower to find long hairs on my body left by the towel.
The hotel staff was friendly. The bed was uncomfortable, my back was hurting in the morning. The main pool w/waterfalls was a dream (water too cold), but I got lots of great pictures there.
Overall my stay at the Paradise Palms was ok. I loved the mirrored wall, view of the beach from the hotel room, and the pool. I didn't like the dingy towels, the weak coffee and cigarette smoke. I am not sure if I would return...depends on my budget."

"I got married here on October 8th, 2011. We had never stayed here before, so we didn't really know what to expect. We talked to the event coordinator several times, and she was extremely nice. Everything that was free to use here, cost around 1,500 at Boardwalk. I was very pleased with the nice and quick response of the front desk. They were so helpful with making sure that everyone attending my wedding was able to get a room on the same floor and side of the building. For the price, it was worth staying here. We will definitely be planning our future trips here during the summer. It was perfect for a wedding, because on the right side of the beach, there are small condos so there were not many people on that side. Very conveinent location."

"My Husband and I just stayed at Paradise Palms. I was really worried not knowing any thing about the Hotel.Once we got there it was great. Right on the beach. It's not one of your finer Hotels but if you are going to enjoy the beach as we did well it fit the bill for us. Every one was really nice and easy to talk to.If I had to say there were any draw backs it would have to be the door, It did not lock from the inside.Other than that we had a blast. We will be comng back.

"Okay, this is an older hotel. Our room was not huge, just two double beds, a dresser, tv, and a table with the coffee maker on it. The decor is outdated, but everything was very clean. When you check in, you will be given a door hanger. On one side it says, 'do not disturb' and on the other it says, 'maid service please'. We hung the side requesting maid service on our door each day and housekeeping came by 10:30 a.m., no problem! The floor of the room is tile and it was mopped daily. The bathroom was cleaned, trash removed and towels replaced. I think some of the bad reviews come from people expecting a 5 star hotel for a bargain price. Yes, our door was a little diffcult to open, but I actually liked that because it kept my 7 year old from getting out the door too far ahead of the rest of us! We only had one problem during our stay, our air went out! We called the front desk and maintenance was knocking on our door within 5 minutes. He checked the unit and apologized and said he would be back shortly with a new air unit. 20 minutes later, our entire air unit was replaced! He said he could have fixed the old unit in our room, but it would take too long and he didn't want to incovenience us. Awesome!
There are several major advantages to this hotel. One is the price! You would have to stay across the street from the beach to get a better rate. The rooms are gulf front with private balconies. Awesome!! Two, Captain Jack Sparrow makes appearances at the big waterfall pool. Three, a movie is shown nightly at the smaller pool, a great way to wind down in the evening. Four ,incredible location, you are in between the two piers, easy driving distance to anything you want to see or do.
This hotel is great for families traveling on a budget. If you want a friendly, clean place to sleep and shower, this is for you. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room or if you need a kitchen during your stay, find somewhere else."
