"This was my seccond stay at Emerald Beach Resort. The first one was three years ago and I must say that the three year time span has not been kind to the resort. The location and view are absolutely perfect, the room however showed wear and tear. The carpet was extremely soiled and stained and the walls were marked up pretty bad. I am not very picking when it comes to where I stay, location and cleanliness are pretty much my only priorities. It was clean but badly in need of some upkeep. Staff was friendly enough, just wasn't a fan of the carpet in the room. I would like to stay here again, however, they really need to do some maintenance on the rooms."

"The unit we stayed in was nice enough but the elevators are very slow. The carpet in our unit was badly stained and lots of marks on the walls. The beds had fresh, clean linens and the bathrooms were clean and stocked with fresh linens (be sure to bring your own soap and shampoo though because they only give you two trial size bars of soap and no shampoo). The parking garage is across the street from the rooms and it is very confusing at first but once you've been from garage to units a couple of times you get the hang of it. One thing I didn't realize is that Wyndham and Emerald Beach is actually the same Resort but they seem to cater to those who stay at the Wyndham. When we first arrived the valet's asked us did we want free valet parking and we said sure only to find out that it's only FREE for Wyndham guests, Emerald Beach guests have to pay $10.00....Bottom line: we will choose another place on our next visit to Panama City Beach"

"Overall it was a pleasant stay. The towel rack was missing in the master bath. The A/C in the master bedroom was lacking. Our room was at the elevator which was probably noisier the other units. Being on the 3rd Flr was high enough. The elevators were busy. All of the staff were very pleasant. The beach was nice although the weather did not cooperate as much as I would have liked. The complex is near a local diner with good breakfasts."

"Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed the condo. It was clean enough and greatly resembled the photos online. Only complaints are that kids are allowed in hot tubs all hours, no adult hour and the check in/information desk is accross the street."

"Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with our location on Front Beach Road, the main road where everything is. Yes, we are a ways away from Club La Vela - mostly because traffic flow is horrid that way. But, it is easy to get to, and there is plenty around where we were. NOW...the condo. Not even close to the pictures that are shown. Understand too, you get what is available, and that may NOT be what you thought you paid for. WE were expecting a king size bed, and what was available was a queen. the 'view' out our window in our bedroom was the hall that the elevators were located in. you open the blinds, and the world WILL see everything. Our view off the balcony was indeed great, and the kitchen was stocked well, but again...this was OUR experience. As I understand NOW, you could get a poorly stocked kitchen, but a good t.v.....it VARIES. The majority of the hotel/condo was well-kept and I did appreciate the skybridge to walk from garage to room. The street is VERY congested...always. The beach was great. IF you want a beach chair, BRING YOUR OWN. or pay $37 a day for theirs. The pool is warmed, and decent, but a lot smaller than picture and you can't see the beach as well as it appears in the pic. Our room had stained floors and walls that were in need of paint, but I think overall it was acceptable. Just a disappointment if you have in mind the pictures the site present to you. Condo owners do provide some towells and a couple rolls of TP, so bring your own if you have a lot of family members. The coupon book you get, by the way...is a waste. There are SOME deals in there, but the places with the best deals are either no longer in existence or they REALLY needed the coupon to generate some business. The decor in our condo was very dated, and the 'flat screen' was maybe a 19inch. You could luck out, and get exactly what you are hoping for. Just remember it VARIES. and we did call to inquire about things, and we were told ...basically, you get what you get. There should be a required standard if the price is going to be the same for all condos of similar size. I will say, being we went during Spring Break for a lot of high schoolers, that we had a more responsible crowd flowing in and out of our condo and hotel lobby and beach area than I suspect was happening at other condos down the beach. The 25 or older requirement to check in I am sure helps that immensely...as there were TONS of kids in town....and a lot of them VERY DRUNK. I meant for this review to help, not hinder you. Hope it does. I wish for the question asking if I would return there was one that said I don't know...."

"Found out at check-in that they had put another guest in our room, took awhile to figure out where to put us. Finally was put in room 433. Two days later discovered someone had entered our room when we were out, after asking several questions with different people was told by the front desk, housekeeping had reported mold in one of our bathrooms so maintanence had used pass key and went in to clean it up very upset that we where not informed before they entered room without us there or even leaving a note to tell us they were there. Ask for trash can plastic bag and was told that was our responability?"

"For such a nice place this could be it is filthy dirty. Nice location, a pain to park to get to room which we overlooked but the room was very dirty, I wish I could send a photo of the bottom of my feet after just walking through the unit. Got locked in room due to malfunction in door and could not get anyone to come fix it. Took several phone calls and threat to call 911 to get someone there eventually. We climbed out window after waiting for quite some time. Could even overlook that but the filth of the room was awful. The cleanliness deserves a negative 5 (extremely poor). It was not well equipped either for a condo supposed to sleep 6 and there were just 3 of us. Would never go back!!!"

"Emerald Beach Resort was very nice. I had a one bedroom two bath and it was larger than any other one that size that I have stayed elsewhere. The resort was very nice however, it was very crowded and noisy and the traffic was horrible. You had to wear wrist bands at all times and no one could visit. You could not take drinks or coolers to the pool as they had a bar and wanted you to pay $7.50 for a bottle of water. My biggest complaint was that one person could not take a shower without the hot water running out. This was everyday not just once. Then you would have to wait several hours to have enough hot water for someone else to take a shower. Large, noisy and crowded is just not my cup of tea so the only way I would stay here again is if it were free but if you don't mind it, it would be a great place to stay."

"Had a wonderful time at this resort. The condo was very clean, & had everything we needed. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgable about the area, restaurants and attractions. The resort was very convenient to the beach and the 2 heated pools and hot tubs were very nice and well kept. We did not have our kids with us on this particular trip, but will be bringing them in the future. Will definitely stay there again!!"

PROS AND CONS

Pros: Beautiful Beach and location, loved the balcony...where I spent my whole week!

Cooked own meals

Has washer and dryer...anything else, NOT!!! NOTHING ABOUT IT!!



Cons: Not many restaurants to choose from...all seafood places

ROOMS are not as they look AT ALL...Pics on here on deceiving..We had to change rooms,,1st room was on the 23rd floor... hairs in bath tub, walls were filthy and all scuffed up..has a small bay window and NOT a big sliding door as the pics show...rooms were VERY OUTDATED on decor.

Moved up to the 25th floor which is considered a penthouse...if this is a penthouse? OMGoodness...just as dirty...food stuck on counter tops....stainless steel applainces were not cleaned....dishes were dirty...stains all over master bedroom carpet....pigeon and bird feces all over balcony...balcony doors were dirty with hand and fingerprints from last persons stay. Tables were veryyyy dusty. Attempted to use jetted tub in master suite...a bunch of black particles came into the water when the pump was turned on. Bathroom floor was sticky. NO VACUUMS, NO MOPS, ONE fry pan...5 towels for a place that sleeps 8??? WHATS THE DEAL?? NEVER EVER here at Emerald again...I would stay at the Grand Palms,, or Long Beach Resort...VERY NICE places...we want to come back in Feb..so I toured the resort and rooms at these two places so next time I know what I am getting into."

"Poor Customer Service/Staff Friendliness! Check-in Clerk's personality is more suited toward a job that doesn't involve people. The clerk Issued me 4 room keys, none of which would open my door. Going down 25 floors to explain my problem, the Clerk didn't seem to care; simply cut 4 new cards and said 'try these'. No apology or sense of urgency. Guess what? These 4 keys wouldn't work either. Finally reaching someone by phone, a Maintenance Man was dispatched and he had to disassemble the door mechanism, and replaced a dead battery...the Maintenance Man as i.d. on his uniform was polite, professional and seemed to care. The dryer wouldn't get hot so I checked-out with a bag of wet clothes. Overall, the property is nice enough and has a beautiful view, but like I said, I came across an employee that didn't seem to care. If they're selling time shares, I would not recommend them; as I have the feeling once they get your money, the friendliness might stop."
