"The staff at this hotel is very unpleasant to deal with. The noise was ridiculous! I had to turn the tv or music on to try to block out the rooms next to us yelling and pounding on the walls. Not to mention the 3am knock at the door that scared us half to death. We did not feel comfortable in any way staying at this place! Then every morning by 7 or 8am we had maintenance men out leaf blowing the yard! It put a damper on the entire vacation as we could not even get a night's sleep. The water coming from the showers would be warm then scalding hot and back to cold again with no notice! I tried checking out a day early with PLENTY of notice and the 'general manager' would not refund my money. She was very unprofessional and not customer service friendly! Look for another hotel is my advice!!!! Do NOT stay here!!"

"Room was clean, view was great. You get a 10lb bag if ice each day you are there so bring a cooler. Heat/AC are not changeable....68 for heat and 74 for air. Tile floors were really cold! Only issue we had was the cold shower. First day we waited 3 hours to be able to shower and the water was fluctuating between ice and fire. Second day (checkout day) we called again and they said they had fixed it. Maintenance came up to feel the ice water and left. They never came back to say it was fixed but we had left it running and it finally got hotter. They said it was a problem with the recirculating pump or something.
The hotel was fine....can't beat $39/night on NYE. Will give it another chance but if we have the same cold shower experience that will be it"

"LOVED IT!!! It was AWESOME :) We had never been to PCB! Beautiful area & beaches. I had asked for top floor in my special requests...got it! Room was great, view was great, staff was great & friendly. This was a spur of the moment trip & everything worked out PERFECT! We even had the Beach to ourselves for 2 days. It was like being on a deserted island. The weather was great too! No bad comments about anything for us..We will be back & would def. stay @ Casa Loma Beachfront :)"

"This place is smack on the beach and every room a ocean and pool side view..one side is all houses..the other is open beach lots all the way to Fountain Bleu Hotel.. The beach is beautiful..the room was better then I expected..since I read some of the reviews that would normally scare me away..but so glad I booked it here.. the only complaint I would have is more water pressure in shower and a higher shower head..I had to bend to wash my hair and a few minor touchups on room..House keeping was great and respectful..we parked right at our door...easy access to beach..cold A/C..TV..WIFI..mini fridge hidden inside tv cabinet..coffee maker with a bag of coffee every day..fresh towels and soaps every day..iron and ironing board..and a hair dryer.a great Balcony view and the workers worked everyday on the grounds keeping a very nice landscape and clean beaches...WOW..CHEAP PRICE and A GREAT HOTEL..cant wait to go back..this was my very first trip to Panama City Beach.."

"Loved everything about it including the staff based on the price. Didn't have any functional problems mentioned in a few of the reviews. Great layout, great beach views and access, ditto the pool. The decor with Florida furnishings were great, and colors etc. are dated, true enough, the maid service minimal, but I say keep the place ugly and the price low. If you don't want some of the amenities and decor that are criticized go down the beach in almost every case the price will be triple. Same price puts you in a rundow area in the middle of the city with a drive to the water, not looking out at a sunset over the ocean."

"this truly is a diamond in the rough! We stayed here just for a weekend getaway and it was awesome. Yes, you can tell that the hotel is very old and could use some updating but the decor in the rooms was very floridian and just like the pictures show. the tables in the room were very nice and the balcony was very spacious!. Being right on the beach was great too. the bathrooms are not very nice but who spends their time in the bathroom anyway and for the price, to be right on the beach, it was well worth dealing with. "

"If you're looking forward to surfing the internet while sitting out on the balcony and listening to the ocean, this is not the hotel for you. The room description stated they have wireless internet, however, we discovered the only way to connect was to step out of our front door, which was the parking lot. Also, the air conditioner was not very cold. Maintenance responded to our complaint very quickly, but it never seemed to cool like we thought it should. We also didn't care much for the tile floors. Even though housekeeping came on a daily basis, they never felt clean. We didn't want to walk around barefoot. On a different note, the view from our balcony was great and the landscaping was beautiful. The staff was Very friendly.

"I have always loved going to PCB every summer but I have to say this trip was the worst. It took 3 tries before we could even get inside our room! The first room, the door wouldnt open, and this was after 2 extra trips to the front lobby exchanging keys and the clerk thinking I didnt know how to open the door, 2nd room she put me in was already occupied, so finally after an hour after checking in did we finally get inside our room. Oh, and to get any type of fridge or microwave at this place, u have to rent a rm with a kitchen. No elevator. The pool was nice and clean is about the only nice thing I have to say about this place. Needs remodeling and updates bad!!!! Wouldnt recommend staying here and dont plan to ever again myself"

"Maintenace on the Hotel was very poor! Bathroom very dirty, bathtub was very filthy with roaches and water would drain out very slow. TV cable channels were not clear at all, beds were very poor needed to be replaced, could not use the room balcony due to AC water draining from the room above, parking was very poor, no Wi-Fi on first floor, had room safe but could not use it( was told by staff the safe in the rooms did not work ). Paid over $130 a night for the room and stayed three nights which made our stay at this hotel very bad for the money we spend, this hotel needs to be replaced with a new Hotel. We will not return to this Hotel ever!!!!! Rating sould be a 0 not a 7.7"

"Our room was clean and we loved the view but the first day it rained a little and after that water leaked the rest of the night on our balcony almost like it was raining. The pool was very clean and nice, so was the beach. Our balcony rails could have used a new paint job, the paint was peeling off. I loved having the free wi fi and the beds were pretty comfortable. I would probably go back there, for the price it was a good place."

"The view was great! Room was ok bathroom needs some serious upgrades and not all that clean. When I first went in the room the door did not even lock, it had to be replaced. My sister came to stay a couple of days and her car got hit. The parking lot is awful. Overall the view was great, the pool was pretty nice better than I expected but they need to clean the place up a little it looks dirty."

"Let's see when we first got in our room they had sand all over the floor. Then when we went take a shower they had long black hair all over the shower disguiting. Then we get a call at 12:30 in the morning waking us up telling us we are parked on a yellow line. We had to park like that because they had vehicles not parked right and they only called our room telling us to move our car.. The view was awesome!!!!"

"We were very disapointed.... The view was great the room was very out dated, the TV was so dark you could not see what was showing complained to office but they did nothing. The bathroom sink would not drain or took a hour for the water to drain out once again complained to the from office and they did nothing. The parking was a joke. If you were not in by 8PM you would not have any where to park. We ended up leaving and staying another couple of night at a much nicer and updated Hotel."

"High compliments to the folks at Casa Loma. I didnt have high hopes for the place considering the low price we paid for our stay, but it turned out to be a very good deal. This isnt a resort/condo place, but if you just want a place with a good clean room, shower, and beach access, I recommend it. Our room was surprisingly clean, showers as well. Staff gave us no problem with extra towels, even provided a free bag of ice to guests for every day of the stay. The location is really great for access to the middle beach bypass. One really great aspect is the beach....to the left of the hotel sits a row of private homes, so the beaches arent very crowded, and to the right is the 'bid-a-wee' beach, a private beach that is even less crowded. Leave the hotel, walk up the beach a ways and we basically had the beach to ourselves. Again, this isnt a fancy place, but for folks that just want a good place to sleep, clean up, and relax, definetely consider the Casa Loma!"

"very out dated, it needed some updating and the balconies and all the railings needed painting, the refrigerator was all beat up, and there is no elevator, which is hard when you have to carry eveything to the top floor. however the pool are was clean and well manicured. i wouldn't stay there again sorry!"

"We went to Florida to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Ironically, we had stayed at this same hotel 26 years ago. Since then there has been very little
change. Needs to be upgraded. No microwave in our room. The shower would scald you one minute then freeze you the next. We tried several times to call the front desk, but they would never answer the phone. The one and only thing that we liked was that it was on the beach."

"The location was prime. I am slightly disappointed at the hotel, the outside had the feel of a roach motel but inside the furnishings/decorations are ok. However, only 1 tiny sink in the room (outside the bathroom) . The bathroom didn't work out as well as expected. The bathtub drain didn't work properly, you have to hold the little lever down for the water to drain, otherwise it's in close position. The toiled got clogged in our room and dirty toilet water overflowed all the way into the room. Good thing the floor is tiled. The maintenance people responded quickly but they didn't clean it as well as I had hoped. The staff's goal was to just dry the floor, I expected a little bit more disinfecting being that it was toilet water with fecal matter. I wouldn't use the ironing board (as it was soaked).
The rest was good though. it would have been great if they added a microwave in the room."

"We enjoyed our stay at Casa Loma...It was a good family place to be.....the rooms were clean the staff treated us very good....Janet in the office was extra helpful....free bag of ice everyday...view was wonderful...location great....that being said Casa Loma is an older motel and things are not perfect but you cant beat it for the price...we would stay there again."

"There is no elevator so it you can not walk up and down stairs this is not a place for you. We were on the bottom level and there is a 6 inch ledge that you have to step up and step down to get out of the room. Not a good thing when you are not expecting the drop off this is a safety hazard. Room service was terrible there was no attention to detail or cleaniness. The bathroom and tub was gross, the tub didn't drain and the tub was black. Front desk was notified of the problem but their solution was for maintance to pour draino in the drain, needless to say the tub still didn't drain. This is not a place we would ever stay at again."

"We stayed June 17,2012 for 4 nights. Let me just say it was awful, first the whole hotel needed alot of repair, rooms was dusty, small bathroom had no tub plus the water temp would burn you then freeze you, the pillows had pee stains on them an the pillow case, staff was rude an most couldnt speak english, they only gave us 2 washclothes for 5 people an made us everyday hunt more, they didnt clean the rooms they just got the trash, everyone we talked to didnt like staying there either, also there is no elavator just steps. I should have listen to the bad reviews on this place"

"My family and I just returned home from our stay at Casa Loma. Our party included 5 adults, 1 teen and 4 children. We had rooms on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors. I was hesitant. to stay at Casa Loma because of the reviews. However, we did not have any major problems. The rooms were clean when we arrived. We were offered daily room cleaning. The pool and surrounding area were always clean. Only negative was the unfriendly staff at the front desk. We did not have any of the bad experiences other travellers stated."

"Where to start......The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the short walk to the beach. I know what you are thinking 'you get what you pay for' well it was a last minute trip and this was all I could find. They advertise free WI-FI, apparantley you don't receive WI-FI on the 1st floor. When you sit on the toilet you better hold on because you will go for a ride. The screws were rusted off and when you sit down the seat shifts. While showering, the tub NEVER drained so essentially I was standing in my own filthe. The floors are tiled so when sand gets on them what do you think happens, you slide all over the place. They have no ice machine. The pool closes at 10, and there was a HUGE roach at the entry door that I had to KILL and then I placed a towel in front of the door by the crack, in hope, that nothing else would crawl in. Very DISGUSTING place. I recommend they do some serious remodeling and updating. I beg of you never to go to this place. While we were in the ocean my husband and I were talking to several other hotel guests that were complaing of similar things. One of them said that their toilet was leaking and the staff told her to put a towel under it, that it would be fine. I would have left in a HEARTBEAT when I saw the condition of this place but if I had cancelled the reservation they would have charged me $200.00 and there was nowhere else to go. Had it not been for the shower issue I would have been better off to stay in my car."

"We have been coming to PCB for a long time and have stayed at The Flamingo Hotel and found value along with all the amenities. Venturing out a bit, we decided to try Casa Loma. The pictures in the ads and the many good comments lead us to the Casa. The room looked similar to the pictures except it was much smaller with little room between the end of the bed and the TV armoir and desk. The bathroom was tiny and contained a large open shower and a toilet. The vanity was in the room by the entry door. The furniture was a hodge podge of styles. The room was clean and the bedding was changed daily. The pool was well kept as well. There were serveral older high school kids there and the pool environment was not always welcoming for a family. Anyone considering the Casa Loma should know that the pool area closes at 10 PM and there is no other outside area to converse or relax at the hotel. The beach acces was great. The building exterior has the turquoise railing which is all chipped and pealing. The cleaning staff did a great job. The guest counter person was not engaging as many had commented."

"The only thing I would say that would be helpful is to have a broom and dustpan in the room to sweep up the sand that comes in off shoes. Since the rooms are not cleaned everyday, it would help not only housekeeping at the end of the stay, but also the people who are staying. We loved our stay. It was the quitest trip we have had to Panama City Beach area. We will stay again."

"My wife and I took my parents and our 3 daughters to PCB for 6 days. We chose the Casa Loma because thats where we stayed for years when I was a kid. While the saying 'you can't go home' is very true, it was as close to home as I remember. Great place, friendly staff, clean quiet beach, and great price. My wife and I will be taking the kids again this summer. Can't wait!"

"This is not a luxury hotel but is is fine for the money. I have guardianship of my great niece and have actually taken her and my 83 year old mom there for the past 3 years. I am not a fan of high rise condos and I like the old fashion type hotels. This hotel has a nice little pool and is family friendly. The rooms are nice and offer a
WONDERFUL view of the beach. The beach is private and is not crowded which is a plus. The staff are fine. Front desk helpful enough. However the parking is awful! If you are lucky you may get a space near your room but if not be prepared for a little walk. I am surprised they don't have fender benders every week. Also the air conditioner is quite LOUD. If it is running you can not hear the beach while on the balcony but we just shut it off. House cleaning is POOR. Of course we were only there 3 days but our room was never cleaned. Clean towels were provided but that was all. Also the pool was closed a good deal of the time. They were working on getting it fixed and people were swimming anyway but the water was getting murky. Think the filter was not working. The grounds are very pretty, flowers blooming beautifully. Overall it is Ok for the money. Don't know why but there is something about the place we like and will probably be back."

"Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was filthy, the towels were threadbare & had stains, the coffemaker looked liked it had never even been rinsed out much less washed, Housekeeping was so bad that one day, they came in took the garbage, changed the towels & forgot to make the beds. The buliding itself needs a lto of maintenance...peeling paint, rusting rails, ugh! The worst.
The only good point.... it is located on the beach."

"Every winter for the last 6-7 winters. I come for the famous coffee and stay 3 months. Big balcony. Big windows make every room great in a storm. Dolphins playing. Big rooms. Plenty parking. Convenient to everything. My only objection is that the girls wear too skimpy bikinis at the pool."

"We needed a cheap hotel for 2 nights for the Ironman Triathlon. We expected the hotel to be a cheap spring break hotel (aka dirty and run down) but it turned out to be a nice, clean and inexpensive place to stay. Would definitely stay here again if we needed to and recommend it for others. Clean beds, nice view and spacious.

"Nothing fancy but clean. Bed not comfortable unless you are used to a hard mattress, but for a few nights it was not that big of a deal. We booked a room with a kitchen and when we got there they put us in a room without a kitchen. I went back to the front desk and told them and they moved us without a problem. As in other reviews keep in mind they do not have an elevator but they only have 4 floors, so it was not too much of a problem. We had a beautiful view on the 3rd floor looking right at the beach. This is our 2nd stay here and I would recommend this place to anyone for a cheap stay at the beach. If you are looking for fancy this is not the place for you, but if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep since that's mainly all we did in the room because we stayed on the beach all day then this is perfect."

"Loved my stay at Casa Loma. It was clean and the price was really good on my wallet. It was right on the beach. I will stay there again. The only thing I think that they could do is put a broom and dust pan in each room. You come in from the beach and i don't care how much you wash the sand off,you still take it into your room. So it would be nice to be able to sweep it up instead of having housekeeping in just for that. I loved the fact that it had tile floors."

"We had a great stay. Absolutely loved the view from the balcony. It was nice waking up to the beach every morning. We went during the off season so it was really calm and quiet which we liked very much. The staff was excellent also. They were all very nice about everything. The only thing we didn't like was the WIFI. We had to sit near the door of the room because their router was in the main office. But other than that everything was great!"
