Horrible customer service and management at front desk. Called ahead to be sure our utility style golf cart would be allowed on the premises. Was told "Yes". However, on the sixth day of our stay we were told by security that it was not allowed. Also, signing in as Westgate owners, we were given a map, and a couple printouts about the rules, etc. Unlike other Westgate resorts, we were left to find our way to our cabin on our own. Nowhere were the Owner's discounts or benefits listed or told to... Read more

Went Glamping! It's large canvas tent with a king sized bed and 2 twin beds in it (the pictures only show 1 bed). The beds are actually air mattresses. But they're comfortable with all the deluxe bedding on them. The Glamping section of the resort is off to itself. You have to have a gate code to get in. The bathroom situation is a bit weird. You do have your own bathroom, but it's in a separate building. It's like a trailer with nothing but bathrooms in it. Each bathroom, however, is s... Read more

Westgate River Ranch is a resort for families, weddings etc. It´s not so suitable for business meetings, courses or workshops (my opinion). There are four rooms for business meetings - three without windows and one with windows. The room with windows is a really big dance hall, suitable for weddings. The service level is not very high. The people who should care for us as guests were not very keen to help us with for instance having an office chair for a person who needed such a chair. - We do ... Read more

I am sorry to say but we had a rather bad experience on our RV trip. Our first night was great. Unfortunately, when we returned to our RV site on the next evening a second RV and 2 vehicles were placed on our spot in front of us. When I asked one of WGR employees why another RV was parked on our site I was told that that their designated site # 9 was not available due to a larger RV taking up 2 sites. Our RV and truck were totally blocked in by this RV and cars belonging to the other guests. Onc... Read more

We had a fabulous experience! We had the glamping area to ourselves. I feel guilty to even call it "camping" with indoor shower, staff starting your fire at night and in the morning they bring your coffee and breakfast! (Don't leave it un-attended tho, the squirrels are quick!) Eleni was our guide for our trail ride and she was fantastic and went out of her way to make our ride special. We did walk the grounds and loved it. A beautiful spot with many amenities. There is a very nice pool tho ... Read more

We had a great 3 day 2 night vacation at this resort. The staff was friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. From air boating on the Kissimmee River, to riding high above the ground on a swamp buggy, our experiences in rural Florida were awesome. The resort is designed to be natural once you leave the resort buildings, so be aware of the fact that while horseback riding, air boating, and riding on the swamp buggy, you are going to see Florida in its natural state with wildlife, flowers, ... Throughly enjoyed the rodeo and the fireworks afterwards. Although the amount of American propaganda may be great for those from the USA it is not necessarily so for tourists. The facilities would be good if there were enough to go around. Although arriving early no golf carts were available there are only 2 boats for hire in the complex the resort is very health and safety conscious but unfortunately do not put a similar priority on customer service. First time visiting the resort. Its in the middle of the state so you feel as if you are away from it all. Alot to do on the property. Some comes at a price. We did the airboat ride and its just a ride of about 30 min through the river basin. It will highlight how an airboat can go over heavy foliage. Don't expect a tour guide explaining the eco system and wildlife in the area. We were in the RV area so we didnt try any restaurants. The rodeo was good and last about an hour. I did ... Read more

Strike one - I don't like hotels that try to pressure you to buy something you don't want. When we checked into the hotel, we wanted to buy rodeo tickets. However, we weren't allowed until we went and talked to their sales staff about a special resort tour/sales pitch. We told them no, then they called our room the next morning again wanting to give us a tour. No means no. Strike two - I don't like hotels that try to nickel and dime you to death.
