"Our villa was very clean and spacious. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful.
There were a few that were not friendly at all, and acted like we were a bother to them. When we checked out we were told we had a charge for a delivery that we had paid cash for. Because we paid cash we had no proof of payment and charged for the service we had already paid for. That was very disappointing end to our stay.
The shuttle back and forth to Orlando Studios was very inconvenient, we paid for a taxi."

"My experience at Westgate was beautiful. The only complaint I have is the unexpected fee of $50 for deposit to insured property vandalism. If you used a debit card the return back to card can take at least 4 weeks. Other than that I would book there again."

"We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our round of miniature golf.
What we did not enjoy was being 'shuffled' to a salesman of timeshares--a waste of our time and theirs.
Also, the advertising said '7outdoor heated pools; not one was heated, and the weather was a bit chilly.
Overall, we did enjoy the hotel, except for these points."

"We were assigned a small one bedroom apartment. It was not well maintained and we could hear our neighbours through the walls as if they were in the same apartment. One had to sit on the bed to view the television as the sofa was facing the wrong way because of the room was too small to accommodate it. If you sat on the sofa you had to look through the mirrors on the wall to watch a small tv.
Very poor designed, a bathtub in the middle of the apartment exposed , without any surrounding walls. No table to eat on, just a small counter.
It was a very busy place, with not enough parking. It was a problem finding a spot to park your car every night.
The area pool was not heated therefore not usable for most folks.
Even though we had a good rate for the accommodations, we would of been better off somewhere else as there are many hotels in the area."

"I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with our stay at Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa in Orlando Florida and would not recommend it to anyone. Although the room accommodations were satisfactory to good, the rest of the resort was not, it was understaffed, the activities we went to such as the S'mores did not have enough ingredients and ran our of graham crackers almost immediately and they only had one employee doing them, the same thing with the build your sundaes by the pool, only one worker, long lines, and poor toppings. The only thing there seemed to be enough staff for was the over abundance of timeshare salesmen. The other very big complaint is on the website it advertises free shuttles to Universal, Islands of Adventure and the Outlet Malls, so we decided that we wouldn't need to rent a car. WRONG, we spent several hundred dollars on taxis because nowhere in any of the advertising or online information does it state that you have to register 24 hrs. in advance for the shuttles and that they only have three departure and return times which did not coordinate with out times, and the Outlet mall we did not even go to because they only did a shuttle two it three days a week, and only one departure and return time on those three days. In addition the Smokehouse Grille did not have waffles as it advertises on their room Channel and all you can order is the buffet for breakfast and if you want something such as the belgian waffles they advertise it is a 45 minute wait. The resort is very spread out and although they have seven pools the bar service is very slow and understaffed and people have all the seats reserved with towels by 8:30 am at the two main pools, and everywhere you want to get to requires a ton of walking and yet they use up several gas powered golf carts driving all their timeshare visitors all around. VERY DISAPPOINTED!"

"I had my 79 yr old dad with me and he loved it and felt very comfortable. Room was perfect, very clean and spacious. that jacuzzi was amazing as well as the relaxing private balcony. Staff was exceptionally friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely return. I travel often and this was one of the best!"

"Although I had my choice of hotels, I feel that I paid for an expensive stay at a mediocre hotel to get pitched vacation time share and could have spent half as much somewhere else and spent that money in the parks with my kids. I could write a very long and detailed explanation, but I will call this a lesson well learned and just garner wisdom from my own experience. For me, it was too crowded, gave me the impression of cattle being herded along for a specific purpose not of my choosing, despite the perception of choice. I was told the presentation was only an hour, but it was actually 3 and a half hours. Presentaion staff showed no interest or courtesy to us after I said no to the sales pitch. I have been coming to Florida for years. After the 3rd one, I avoid the sales pitches to save me my valuable vacation time unless I go very early, by myself, and get a great deal on tickets. If I buy discounted tickets anywhere anymore...I always ask if there is a sales pitch involved. If there is, I just pay full price. I'm there to have a good time, not get sales pitches. I like staying at nice hotels close to parks, but I will now be giving my business to hotels that take coupons some 10 to 20 minutes drive from the park to save my time and money and a very nice stay. We did this a couple of years in Tampa and it was wonderful. Had the most spectacular amenities (most included free wi-fi, swimming, breakfasts, weight rooms) that were not considered VIP, but regular hotel amenities."

"Arrived on a Sunday evening, very confusing to find 'main lobby' no clear signs or directions, place was overpacked and always had a difficult time finding a parking spot near hotel room. Waited over 45 minutes in line to check in. Was told a different room number assigned and after about 1/2 an hour playing around with room keys and figuring out where the room was actually located finally could rest at 10pm and order chinese delivery after a long day of traveling. Room was OK, a bit outdated with old and small televison. Stayed in a Studio Villa unit and got locked out of our room for over half an hour due to 'dead bolts' on a door outside the actual A and B unit rooms since this is a timeshare resort. That all occured on a night after spending a great time at Universal Studios and the City Walk we encountered a very rude staff security member at the entrance gait when he almost dropped the gait on my rental car and proceeded to tell me 'You know, if you were to hit that you would have to pay for it!' with a bad attitude. Very unneccessary! and thats when my boyfriend and I were tired and aggravated, we realized we were locked out of our room. Had to walk to the main lobby, after having to approach someone since no one asked If i needed any assistance even though I was patiently waiting at the desk, complained about our experience and was basicaly brushed off and made every excuse under the sun. The security employee that unlocked the dead bolt assisted us into our room was friendly and stated that 'Getting bolted out of your room happens all the time, and you should complain about it'. Proceeded the next morning to talk to a manager and they apologized and extended our check out time from 10am to noon, not that really mattered because I had to return my rental car at noon anyways. Place was overpacked, parking was dificult and hard to find, housekeeping was loud some mornings, I have rathered stayed at a Best Western or Holiday Inn where I have had much better experiences and friendlier staff. FYI, being a timeshare owner, I would never recommend this place for a stay nevermind buying timeshare here. Stay clear from this place. Many other Hotels in the area that probably have better service."

"I arrived on a Sunday...crowded... I waited patiently in line until it was my turn to check in. The 3 staff at the table looked at me for 3 minutes until I spoke up and asked, 'is anyone working today?' Once I got the key to my villa, it was very nice inside. A few hours later I noticed there were a million ants on my Krispy Kreme donuts. :( I started inspecting the place and noticed a million more ants in the master bedroom cabinets and shower. I called front desk and maintenance came out to spray some windex. He said this will kill them they are in all rooms like this. I spent the night in that room because or kin was scheduled to come the next day. 3am I noticed a pregnant roach crawling across the jacuzzi and 3 baby roaches across the wall. The next morning I changed rooms my second one was bug free.
Timeshare tour- the representative was very persistent with selling me a time share. I told her my experience the night before and I didn't want to buy. After 10 more minutes of her trying to sell me a share. I showed her pictures of the ants and roaches and my tour was over immediately."

"Our room was very dirty-carpet & floor not washed or vacuumed. We asked for them to clean it but they never did and said they do not vacuum-only sweep with a broom! On our arrival we had an extremely nice man show us around and help take our bags into the room. Walls were very thin and the 'neighbors' kept us awake most of the nights. We hand washed the dishes and all surfaces in the room as they were also very dirty. Did not know about the time share meeting , which was to be an hour and a half turning into three hours of our precious time. I would not recommend this resort to anyone."

"Me and husband booked a Studio on a high floor of this resort overlooking the pool and it was perfect for the two of us. Room comes with a jacuzzi tub, king size bed and HUGE shower. Also a nice screened in balcony with a table and chairs. For the price we paid, about $90/night, it was well worth it and the location was fantastic. We were re-directed to the timeshare person upon checkin but he was not pushy at all. We simply said 'No' and we were on our way. One thing I did notice is that on weekends Fri-Sun, they are extremely busy at the front desk for checkin. We got there around 2-2:30 and checkin I believe is 4pm and it was pretty busy. Can only imagine how busy it is at 4pm. Would recommend getting there early and checking in. Also, walls are kind of thin but that didn't bother us. But overall, best value for your money, great experience and would definitely go back."

"Our experience was bittersweet.
Checking in and out was quick and easy. The man from VIP guest services was INCREDIBLE, informative, extremely helpful and very very courteous. He is definitely an asset and only reason I don't give the resort an overall poor rating.
Now the very BITTER part,,,, the 2 hour sales, the sales representative was barely 'nice' until I told her I was not going to purchase a time share, that I wanted my discounted tickets and that I had to get going. She became belligerent, abusive and rude, The ordeal was not just stressful but traumatizing. If I could have left the resort without ruining our vacation at that moment I would have."

"My husband and I went to Westgate Lakes for 2 nights to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The resort was great, the price was great, the room had a wonderful view and was very clean, beds comfortable, etc. A nice older resort that is very well taken care of. Plus, food in the Smokehouse Grill was excellent and we ate there both nights, one with our family. We did not get to use any of the outdoor facilities due to weather conditions but they looked good.
The only problem we had was that we had to go to a presentation for a vacation club, which took up almost all of Saturday morning. There was no information given to us online or during booking that would indicate that we would have to do this. When we arrived and checked in, we were told we had to go to another desk and sign up -- but not told what we had to sign up FOR. A salesperson actually escorted me there. I wasn't sure we could have stayed if we didn't attend this presentation. I would like some feedback about this, please. Thanks.

"First of all, we got lost trying to 'find' the Registration Building' because we went to the wrong entrance. We stopped a security person riding around and she was so rude!!! if looks could kill, myself and wife would have been dead. The rest of the personnel were very nice and helpful. The stay itself wasn't that good. The shower door didn't want to close, and there was mold and dirt on the tiles.
The pillows were ridiculous..so small!!! maybe a hamster could use one for its cage and the mattress was hard as a rock. I would never go back or refer that place to anyone."

"This was my first time going and may be last time staying at WestGate, unless they do some rennovations soon. We checked in and as we were checking out the room a couple of cockroaches checking us out as well, we also found some crawling in the room, and some were dead. So I asked to be moved to another Studio , so we moved to another studio and then when I was about to get in bed , tired as I was I couldn't even get in the bed because there were ants all over the pillow and then I pulled the cover back and the ants were going crazy. So that was it for me. So if the cockroaches and ant problem get resolved then I would recommend this resort to a friend or family member."

We used to own a timeshare with Westgate about 8 years ago in Miami Beach, but unfortunately had to sell it after 2 years of use, so I was happy to find this location in Orlando for us to attend Halloween Horror Nights. We had 2 rooms and they both were beautiful, spacious and clean. I loved the jacuzzi tub and the bed! We will be going back next month for our anniversary and will definitely be staying there."

The personel were helpful and nice..I will not listen to a sales talk for 1 1/2 hours....Parking was good and close..It would be nice if the cleaning persons could speak English...I do not understand the charges to my credit card.. a little more than I was told it would be.."

Also it was clean everyday but if i was a housekeeper id make the jetted tub a little cleaner so its more inviting! But.. "This was our first time lodging at a resort. We had a studio unit. Staff could have taken a little extra time to clean it better; not that it was nasty, but the carpet wasn't vacuumed well (and was never vacuumed at all during our stay even though it was requested) and there were dirt/stains on bedside tabletop units. The refrig was outdated and did not work properly; we ended up getting a replacement and the hair dryer did not work. Loved the fact that the patio was screened in.
The elevator was the slowest I've ever seen and the laundry room was simply a mess (dirty, non-working appliances and outdated).
Overall our stay was comfortable."

"When we checked in they wanted us to do a 90 minute tour (which we did not want to do) and they were VERY pushy and seemed to be VERY put off on the fact that we kept telling them NO. We ended up giving in. We had already had out time planned out. The next day we called to see if they would come and pick us up from our villa and they said you have to drive or walk so the we had to drive to the 90 mintue presentation and before they even got started we told them that we are NOT interested in these and they said it's fine no obligation what so ever. Well...they got pushy and we continued to tell them NO and they got rude after we said no politely and still... anyway when down to pick up our $50 dinner voucher and our $20 deposit (that was to show up) and then they sent us to another guy that wanted us to to and 60 minute power point presentation. We told them no that we were not interested and we ended up saying LOOK we ARE NOT INTERESTED amd the guy to walked off rudley! We go to the room which we complain that the room was to hot and the thermostat wouldn't go any higher than 74 an the fan only on 2 settings, some did come and change while were out. The pool - NASTY - hair, hair and more hair and the smell... I wouldn't let our pet swim if we had brought him in it. OH, and FREE shuttle - um - NO only in the am. That was it!!!!! I wll not be using this resort again. For the price I would NOT recommend this to any of my friends. If I could've gotten our money back I would and gone somewhere else. Thank you!"

"I had a great experience at this hotel.I searched and searched different sites. The first time we stayed was my birthday weekend and we checked in at around midnight, so there was no long lines I hear of. Just us. We chose this resort because I wanted a large place with a seperate bedroom and definitely needed a patio because my b.f smokes. It is a very large place, lots of pools and lots of lakes. We didnt use the extras like the pool, gym or restaraunt on site, but the room itself was amazing for the price. We also had a room at the end entrance so parking wasnt bad for us as well, except for late at night and then it still wasnt too far. I can see how the middle of the resort could get crowded though. We are going back definitely."

"Did not like this place, especially the way it's laid out. It's huge. Every time we returned to our room after 8 pm we had to park far away from our room. The worst was the first night when we had a lot of rain and it was a hard rain. We sat in our vehicle quite awhile to wait for the rains to slow since we had to park so far away from our room.
Also the cleaning staff did not do a good job with the room.
Also learned there are no soda machines available in the building. Ice, yes. Soda, no.
All this was after our initial shock of being signed up for a sales tour after we checked in. We did not know when booking this online that this was part of the deal. It took away from our vacation time even though we managed to avoid the tour by letting the guy know upfront that we were not looking. Once he heard that he told us we weren't qualified anyway and released us. The desk disagreed with the guy saying we were qualified and they gave us the gifts anyway as well as our $20 deposit back. We didn't bother asking about the promised brunch. We figured it wasn't worth it. One of the gifts, a discount at their Smokehouse restaurant, we did not use. The experience just left us with an unpleasant feeling that we didn't want to even support their restaurant.
There were pleasant employees that we appreciated after having to go through all this fiasco."

"My wife and I took our son and his wife and their 1 and 1/2 year old on a 4 night vacation to Orlando. Didn't realize it was a time share, but we've stayed at one twice before no problems. Great location, great room overall, just a few things like balcony had some food scraps and ants, bathroom not totally cleaned, and living room tile had some minor stains. It was a large campus,we like to walk, so that wasn't a problem for us. They did schedule the presentation, my wife and I didn't sign up (been there, done that) but my son and his wife decided to check it out. They talked him into buying, with a 10-day allowance to cancel. Took 1 and 1/2 days of his vacation time away, plus later time reading materials. After signing and THEN getting all the 'legal documents' they found many things promised them were not true. They decided to cancel as the deal was not near as good as presented. Hopefully the cancellation ability will be true, it is in process. But as a vacation, it was a great place to stay. Either refuse the presentation or be firm to 'just say no' afterwards."

Good- Rooms were very clean and nice but a little smaller than what I am used to.
The Resturant- Smokehouse Grill was very nice, food was good
They have good rates compared to other resorts
Front desk staff was very nice, but the maintance seems to be unprofessional. I witnessed them cursing at one another.
Bad- The parking is not too great, it appears to be cluttered at times
The type of crowd resort draws in for special is not good. There was someone playing loud music and doors keep slamming next door to me

"I would recomend investing in a higher quality Hotel. When we arrived they automaticly sighn you up for an appointment without advising you what is the appointment for, they ask for a 20$ deposit to make sure you come to the meeting. When I booked my vacation I called to ask about the special offer and we were told that it was a coupon book. I though the meeting was for the coupon book, for my surprise it was a time share resort. I could not belive we lost 2 hr of Our vacation. They initially start with a high price and eventually lower it down to 1/3 of the fraction of the time share. Whe we sayd no for the 3 time they still offer a package to hold the price. At the end we still said No and we felt like we were no longer welcome. Our gifts where diminished to a 50 $ voucher to use at their restaurant. Then one morning I decided to use the voucher and asked for a ride to the restaurant, they took 20 minutes to come and get me. (The restaurant is about 1/2 mile away). the breackfast consisted on left overs from the night before. When I askd for a ride to my room with 4 bags of food the manager stated that it was against the law for them to request for a ride. Furthermore you have to be prepare to work arround their bus schedule in order to use the bus to the theme parks otherwise you pay 32$ to get to any of the parks. Then at the end we requested a ride from our room to the front desk to check out and they stated they where not able to send any one to pick us up and my family and I had to walk about 1/2 mile to the front desk with all our carrions and a large check bag, and my 3 year old. I do not recomend this Resort to anyone who is on vacation and trying to enjoy your time off. West Gate Resort is a place where they try to sell you a property while you trying to enjoy your vacation. STAY AWAY and invest the extra money in a nice Hotel where you are not going to be pressure to purchase a property while On VACATION."

"When I made my reservation I was offer the following packages that was included in the package such as: a deal that could of been worth about a 1000 dollars. It's like a coupon book. when we arrived at the resort they automatically Singh you up for an appointment in which you don't know what the appointment is, they request 20 $ for this service and offer free complementary breakfast, a free voucher for 50 $ at their own restaurant, barbecue food for the next day, and a pass to use for amenities that included a 10 % discount. We assisted the appointment thinking that it was for the coupon book that they were offering in the website. Then I was surprised, this was a Time share and I had paid 20 $ for a reservation for someone to try to sell me a property while I was on vacation. My husband and I spend 2 hrs listening to them on trying to sell us a property, other wise we would not get our 20 $ deposit. They begin with the highest price and then lower it all the way to the 3rd of the cost, they also include a down payment that you should have in order to get the property down payment of 3000 $. Now who goes on vacation and has an extra 3000$ in their account when you think that you are going to have fun and not buy a property. Not to mention that the breakfast was all generic can products. Anyways at the end they where really mad that we did not wanted to purchase the property. They also offered to reserve the price of the property for another occasion if we were willing to pay 790 dollars up front. Then the free offers where minimized to the 50 $ food voucher at the restaurant that I used for leftover breakfast. It was an awful experience wasting my time all over the place at the West gate lake Rort. The morning I wanted to use the voucher for the break fast I called for a ride I wasted more than 20 minutes then went back to the room and finally the front desk sent someone to take me to the restaurant that was at least 1/2 mile away. I had to walk back to my room because the restaurant manager stated that they could not call them back because it was against the law. Also the free bus ride to the parks are only certain hours so plan around their schedules, they are always late when returning to the resort expect to give gratuity pay for all service every day including the shuttle inside the property. Anyways at check out day I called again for another ride to leave the Resort and the front desk stated that they where not able to send anyone because they where not available. My family and I had to walk to the front desk about 10 minute walk with 3 checked baggage 3 carryons and my small 3 year old child. So over all beware of deals like this what seems cheap it becomes really expensive at the end and will ruin your vacations."

"When we checked i,n the line was out the door. I waited in line like I was at Disney for an hour. The room was ok, nice size and seemed clean. When we returned that evening there was absolutely no parking left. People were parked on the curbs and sidewalks. Many other guests were complaining about the same issue. If you purchase a room, you should at least have an assigned parking spot to that room. The resort is very large and I had to park my car at the front of the resort and walk extremely far to my building. As I was walking, many staff members drove by on their golf carts and never offered to give me a ride even though they saw i was carrying a lot luggage. We called for a sheet for the pull out couch and no one ever showed up. I understand that some days are busier than others but if you cant handle the crowds dont spread yourselves too thin. I would not return if they were offering me a free room. Horrible Customer Service."

"Hi. I have no connections with Westgate, so my comments are pretty objective.
I gave a '4' as the overall experience, given the price and the quality of the hotel.
For Value, I defined it as given the price, do you think it is worth to get a hotel like this. I gave a 5.
3 to staff efficiencty, as there are strength and weakness.
4 to cleanliness as it is not dirty at all, but I cant say it is really really look really clean.
Overall, the price is really really cheap compared to others 4 stars hotel.
Good thing: they run three shuttles to and from the theme parks every day.
Staff efficiency at the lobby is really fast..I spent 0 wait time when check in and check out. The services are great and really really friendly! Really polite. The internet is quite fast.
Bad thing: you can only expect the room is like a 3-star one...not really bad...but do not overestimate.. but still my room get a jacuzzi tube. LOL another bad thing is. during the night, i asked the hotel to give me two new bath towels, and a new shampoo, it took more than one hour for them to gave me, their explanation was 'only one runner atm, I am sorry.'"
