"Our room was awesome and clean with full kitchen and washer and dryer!
Only thing the air conditioning unit was very loud but we were able to turn it off at night and just run the ceiling fans which were a godsend.
Beds were comfortable and so was pull out bed in sofa for our ten-year-old daughter. Pool was not heated that was a drawback but the pool area was very nice! We would recommend this hotel to family and friends."

"Hotel was nice, centrally located (20 mins walk to Universal). This have a well maintained surrounding, rooms, swimming pool, restaurants.
The only challenge was that I booked an Executive room which mentioned it had a 'kitchen' in it, but all it had was a microwave. Had to upgrade to Executive suite to get a proper kitchen."

"Our overall experience was good but there were a few small things that seemed to be lacking. The staff were not forthcoming with information that would help us with the week but were helpful if we had a particular question for them. Our room was tidied everyday, but our linens were not changed the entire time we were there; the bed was just simply made. We don't go on vacation to spend time in our room so it was sufficient for the time spent there. We would recommend to a friend if they are traveling to Orlando on a budget."

"We normally stay on Disney property when we visit Florida. This time we decided to stay closer to Universal Orlando. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with full kitchen. The accommodations were amazing. Spacious, modern, clean - all the comforts of home. I will definitely share with our friends just how beautiful the Point is and how accommodating the staff there is too. We will definitely stay here again."

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, the bed was great and we slept well. the kitchen living area was wonderful. Food a the pool was good. Wifi in the rooms worked well. "Expect pool side food - not alot of flavor and can take awhile to come....other food is a bit of a walk so be prepared for that - I would not eat breakfast there for 10.95 - if you have a stove/kitchen worth it to buy breakfast foods - It was nice they offered room service and that a bar was close by. The pool was nice to hang out and in - overall a nice and simple place - no business center - they will print your boarding pass for you."

"This is an excellent place to stay when vacationing in the Orlando area. It is so very close to Universal Studios, 2.2 miles. They provide a free shuttle to Universal, Seaworld and Epcot. We used the shuttle in the mornings and cabbed it back in the late afternoons. From Universal the cab fare was only $6.60 for 5 people, very reasonable.
We had the deluxe 2 bedroom suite. When we walked in the room my Son in law exclaimed 'WOW this has to be the best place we have EVER stayed!' The arrangement of the room is perfect for families or friends traveling together. Each has their own private room and bathroom and a common area between the two with a full kitchen.
They have a nice bar and grill beside the pool and the food from there was great. My family was crazy about the fried green beans. They also have breakfast every morning in the lobby area it smelled pretty good but we elected to have breakfast at Universal Studios each morning of our stay.
The pool was nice, on the smaller side but it was never packed with people. There are plenty of loungers around the pool and very nice tables and seating areas scattered around the area. The hot tub was wonderful for soaking out those sore muscles from walking the theme parks all day.
The only minus I can mention about this property is that they have Keurig coffee makers in their kitchens rather than your regular coffee maker. If you are lucky they will supply 3 coffees each day but we found that was not the case. So if you like your coffee in the morning pack some coffee pods for the Keurig coffee maker.
We will most definitely visit this property on our next visit to the Orlando area."

"I will never stay here again, it is overpriced for one. I paid over 300 dollars for 2 nights thinking I was going to be within walking distance of universal, which its not. There is no parking. We got to the hotel after HHN22 around 12 and we had to park on a fire lane, because the 30 spots they have were all taken. There are more rooms than parking which is very inconvenient . The shuttle they have for the theme parks leaves at 7;30am and comes back at 7:30pm, so realistically you can't use it, who leaves the park at 7:30 when the parks close at 2am? The room was nice, big, it had a kitchen. The jacuzzi bathroom was not in our suite, so the picture u see is fake, my bathtub was tiny. Oh an if you like a cold room, forget about it, they control the a/c. You have a fan in the room. The t.v's are old too. Wish I knew this before I paid so much to stay there. For that I could have stayed in Disney and driven. Never again.."

"Expensive, they don't clean the room totally just change towels and you need to ask for more even we were 3 person schedule to stay in. The coffe is just for one time if you want more $1 each. And if you want (as all the normal hotels do) a total clean service $12 dlls extra daily. The room does not have security box neither. I was in another hotel for less price and better service for sure!"

"The Point was very nice, clean, efficient and definitely I would consider it an excellent value. The staff was friendly as well. Really only 2 small complaints but I would definitely go back.
1) The universal shuttle leaves before 8am and the return isn't until after 7pm. This is a pretty terrible shuttle service if you ask me. We ended up driving to Universal every day.
2) On the night we checked in, we asked for some extra linen and towels from the front desk staff. They gave me what they had behind the desk, but they never showed up with the promised items. They may have been busy, or may have run out, but it would have been nice for them to follow up.
Again, these are 2 relatively small complaints with an otherwise excellent experience. Very centrally located and convenient for what we were doing this trip. Very much worth the stay."

"I didn't give 5 stars because (1) we didn't get housekeeping service everyday - The housekeeper came to our room, but when we asked her to come back shortly, she nodded and smiled, but never returned. In all fairness, I believe English was not spoken...but that does not do much service to English-speaking guests, especially in the US. Unfortunately, this happened 2 days in a row, and on the 3rd day, I had to stop at the desk to make sure she came back - and she did. Also - the gym was a bit of a joke. One treadmill was clearly a hazard - with a broken belt. I unplugged it and pot an 'out-of-service' sign on it so no one else would use. The damage could not have just been done, so I was surprised when the front desk was surprised to hear about it. I guess they don't go there much.
Otherwise, clean and well-appointed for the most part, but I did not appreciate the overwhelming bacon smell in the lobby all the time!"

"We just needed a one night stay after our cruise and wanted to pick something close to Universal. This hotel is definitely a great place to stay at if you want to be in the middle of all the stuff. Wet n Wild was literally just down the road and you could see it from our 11th floor room. You are so close to universal also that you can see the coasters out your window as well. I do of course have some negatives to this place although it was a very nice place to stay at, the parking is absolutely horrible. Whoever designed this hotel didn't keep the parking lot in mind. There is indeed plenty of parking if you want to walk with luggage to your room a bit. Also checkin was at 4pm. Now most places will allow you to check into your room way ahead of that if your room is ready but this place really adhered to the 4pm check in policy so we didn't have a place to put our stuff for a long time and had to drive around in the crazy traffic jams to get where we needed to go. One reason we chose this hotel was because it had advertised a full breakfast buffet. Never assume when that is said that it is included because it was not and in fact it was 9.99 if you wanted to take advantage of it. Let me tell you that I wouldn't have paid over 4.99 for that buffet. It was merely a glorified continental breakfast with a few hot items. Great starbucks coffee onsite though for a charge of course. The place is very busy and only had one luggage cart available which caused a problem at various times not just with us but noticed it with other guests as well wanting to use it. I would recommend this hotel for larger families who need the space at a reasonable rate. We had plenty of room for 4 people with two bedrooms. The pool and hot tub were great. Drinks at the tiki bar were very pricy for what you got. For a long island and a banana daquari in two small plastic cups was 17.50. Staff was very friendly and accomodating except for having our room ready before 4pm. It is their policy and I understand that. I like to try new places so I can now cross this one off my list. If anyone has questions, please let me know."

"We moved after one day from Liki Tiki Village, which was a complete dump. The Point Orlando was a nice alternative, although neither were as close to The Magic Kingdom as we would have liked. The Point Orlando is next to Universal Studios and Wet N Wild, so if you're going to Orlando for these, this is a great choice. We stayed in a suite with king size bed, full kitchen and washer/dryer. The room was nice and bright and clean. They provide light maid service, which includes making the bed and changing towels daily. We were on the 12th floor, so this didn't happen until about 4:00 every day but didn't bother us at all. The pool area was very nice with a great cabana grill/restaurant and bar. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a later flight when we left and were accommodated with a slightly later check out time. Could have stayed all afternoon at the pool until we left, though. We'll stay closer to the Disney parks next time, since that area is our preference but overall a really nice stay and such a relief after our experience a Liki Tiki Village. "

"Staying at the resort was amazing from the second we walked through the door. A nice girl checked us in and right away was friendly and asking if there was a special occasion we were celebrating. When we told her it was our 5 year anniversary she upgraded our regular room to a one bedroom suite and then on top of that when we got back from Universal that night there was a card waiting for us (personally written from the staff at the point) congratulating us on celebrating our 5 year anniversary and told us to look in the fridge where a bottle of champagne was waiting for us. As if this was not above and beyond what we have ever experienced at a resort every other staff member that we encountered was friendly and asking how our stay was going. I would recommend this resort to anyone that is looking for a place to stay in Orlando not only because of the upgrades and such but because it is a high class, clean, friendly all around amazing resort and because of the staff it made our vacation one of the best ones we have had!"

"The staff was great at this hotel. Very friendly and helpful. The pool area was nice and clean with plenty of chairs available.
Some problems I noted:
(1) While there was a coffee maker in the room, they wanted to charge me $1 per k-cup after the first day for coffee. I talked with the front desk telling them this was not on the website and they waived the charge for k-cups although the maid service did not consistantly leave them in the room during our week long stay.
(2) 10% discount offered at cabana bar was not applied unless I asked twice. This happened repeatedly. The food however was good at the cabana bar.
(3) Shuttles were limited with only one drop off and pick up time for Universal."

"I can say this hotel was great. I was so worried about bed bugs but I can say the cleaniness here was great. The staff at was always friendly and informative. If you are not afraid of walking and taking the trolley no need to rent a car. Many theme parks are very close, outlet shopping and the famous international drive. My boys loved this hotel and we will surely love to come back. Just a few suggestions to make things even more perfect at this hotel. Add a convinience shop, internet in the rooms should be a must,

"My husband and I took our two sons to Disney this weekend. We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was great. The only issue I had was when we got there apparently the 2 king size room was totally booked so the hotel asked if we would take a junior suite instead to help them out. Even though I had booked months in advance. It turned out very nice but I felt a little bad for our boys who had to sleep on the pull out bed which didn't look very comfortable. When we had agreed to take the room the guy at the desk said he could have someone bring a mattress to put on top of the sofa bed but no one ever came. Other than that, our stay was great!"

"I took my daughter to Orlando as a graduation present. The Point Orlando Resort offered great value - shuttles to Universal Studios, free internet. The rooms were clean and the service staff was very friendly and attentive. A couple of suggestions (1) vary the breakfast buffet a little - by the 3rd day we were tired of the same exact breakfast; (2) provide laundry bags in the rooms; (3) offer room service for dinner -- after a long day at the parks we just wanted to crash in the room and not need to go out to dinner and (4) add a gift shop to buy amenities - water, sunscreen, etc. All in all, great value for the room, just a few suggestions to make it even better."

"If you are going for Disney and Universal - the location is amazing. You are about one mile from Universal - less than 10 from Disney - and are right next to several chain restaurants/stores/etc.nWe had a nice 1 bedroom suite with the kitchenette/washer/dryer combo. We loaded up on some groceries on day one to take care of breakfast in the room so I can't comment on the provided breakfast. The pool area was also very nice with plenty of room and had a small attached outdoor bar.nAs some others have noted, the room cleaning was a bit odd. One day we returned at 430PM and our room hadnt been touched and on another day they cleaned the room but didnt restock any paper towels or TP - but a quick call to the desk on both occasions resulted in a quick fix. The kids loved the room and we were also very satisfied overall."

"Represtantive at the main desk was amazing. The only thing was having to report so many issues as to make sure we weren't charged for things. Things such as black markings all over at least one wall in each room, attempted to use the jetted tub and black mold came out of the jets. Things that could have easily been avoided or never seen. It was all easily adjusted and taken care of as soon as we told the representative but its just not something you want to have to deal with on the one vacation you get a year."

"Overall the hotel experience was not bad at all, just lots of little things that added up in the end. Awesome location, full kitchen was really nice, and I got a good deal. As for the downsides, bed is like a rock, couch is equally uncomfortable. Don't expect them to refill or clean anything, even in a two week stay. We ran out of TP and they made the bed and didn't refill that. Dead coachroach on the ground in the bathroom another day and they did nothing about that either. Never replaced anything (coffee, detergent, tissue, tp). Breakfast is horrible, we had free vouchers for it for our whole stay and could only stand to go twice. All in all I wouldn't tell anyone not to stay here, but I wouldn't recommend it either. If you are just looking for a crash pad for your vacation this could be the perfect spot, just don't plan on spending too much time in the room."

"We stayed at the hotel for a weeked getaway and enjoyed every bit. Very nice room with central air and a comfortable bed. The only thing I would suggest is they put a DVD player in the room for longer stays and lower their breakfast price, because it was pricey. I also liked the check out policy that allowed us more time to enjoy the pool. Wish we could of stayed longer. We will definately be back."

"We stayed in the one bedroom grande suite and were not disappointed! It was beautiful, spacious, up-to-date and very clean. All the comforts of home with a luxurious flare at an incredible value. The staff was fantastic! We would definitely stay again!! Tips to know ahead of time: The rooms have the new Keurig one cup coffee makers. Ask for additional coffee if you drink more than one cup at a time. To help plan your day, know that the shuttle to the parks is a set time at 8:30 am and back from the park only at 7:30 pm."

"Only reason I did not give 'overall experience' and 'quality' the full 5 rating was that the bed was tough on my back (but a lot of beds are) and the breakfast was only fair. Otherwise, this was a wonderful facility with friendly staff, nice spaces, easy parking, and a nice pool/cabana. Do try to get one of the one-room suites with its own door (rather than the double-door arrangement a lot of their rooms have). Door-slamming, along with hall talking, are the worst problems in hotels today, even four-star ones. Getting up high on the east side of the tower to the left (as you come in) minimizes both."

"We had a great time at the resort, our room was upgraded automatically to a suite, so we had a full kitchen plus a giant luxurious bathroom and living room. The staff were great. When we arrived, we went to our room and were unpleasantly surprised that the room had not been made up from the previous guests. We contacted the front desk who immediately rectified the situation, were very pleasant (and embarassed!). We were moved to another room. We did have to ask at the front desk every day for more coffee (for the coffee maker), but they were very good about it. This was a really nice place, the room was great and we would definitely return there if we go to Orlando again. The drive to universal was under 5 minutes. It was literally right around the corner. I would recommend more shuttles to and from the theme parks, if you don't have a car there is only one shuttle time available. We were within walking distance of several restaurants, including Chili's and TGI Friday's only about a five minute walk down the street. The Pirate Dinner Show was a few minutes walk away as well."

"We recently stayed here. Our stay was enjoyable. The Hotel was very nice. The room was clean , we had a one bedroom suite. The breakfast on the other hand, was horrible. Coffee was not included with the breakfast, that was a seperate charge. The pool area is very nice , but the bar is overpriced and the drinks are very weak. The location was great if you were visiting Universal or sea World. We did not use the shuttle service or cab service so I cannot coment on them. The hotel changed towels and made beds daily. I was disapointed that the rooms did not have a safe in them . They did have boxes by the front desk but you had to asscess them with everyone around."

"The breakfast was a big catastrophe. Despite I had paid for a suit for 4 persons with breakfast included (2 adult 2 Children) and has given everybody´s name, age and other details, they literary forced me to pay extra for 2 children's breakfast. The restaurant has 5-6 tables, the biggest ones for a company of 4 persons, while the hotel has 2 towers with 12-13 floors, i.e. there must be more than 500 rooms, so imagine how that breakfast may look like! I stayed at two other hotels in the same trip, but I'll never return to this hotel again."

"Very clean and updated rooms. the only con we had was that the shuttle to Universal drop you off at 8 in the morning and there wasn't a shuttle until 7 to take you back to the hotel. We stayed at this resort for the free shuttle to and from Universal but would have liked more flexiblity with the shuttles. If you want to stay after park hours or go come back and rest you have to take a taxi."

"I requested early check-in the day of and we arrived around 1pm, when check-in was at 4pm. The hotel held our luggage for us because our room wasn't ready and we were able to spend a few hours relaxing at the pool. They said they would call us when our room became available but they never did. It wasn't a big deal though since we were enjoying ourselves at the pool anyways. We stayed for four days and every day they gave us clean towels and made our beds. The only thing they didn't do was clean the bathtub. Having a shuttle service to Universal and Epcot was great, however when I asked the driver what time they normally get to Epcot he quoted me at 9:00am and the staff at the front desk said there was only one other hotel stop before going to Disney, but in reality there was 6! It took us an hour to get there (around 9:15-9:20am), which got in the way of our breakfast reservations. My only other complaint really has nothing to do with the hotel...the taxi service they use (New Way) dropped us off at Downtown Disney the night we arrived and the driver told us he would pick us up anytime before 2:00am, just to call an hour in advance. When I did this, the person that answered informed us that they do not do pick ups at Downtown Disney unless the customer pays for the return trip in advance. I explained that we would have done that had we known, but he said sorry the driver gave you the wrong information and could have cared less that we were stranded in Downtown Disney...not very professional if you ask me. When I explained the situation to the hotel they were able to direct us to where we could catch a taxi and were very helpful. My only other suggestion for the hotel is room service! I can't believe they are a resort, but only have a small cafe and a poolside bar. Overall our stay was wonderful....clean, comfy, and accomodated all our needs, plus the location is awesome!"

"Upon my arrival to the hotel I was shocked at the outside apperance of the hotel it looks nothing like the pictures, Then when checking my room bed sleeping arrangements were incorrect, the I was told I had told put a $210 hold on my credit card 50.00 for each night and when we got to the room one of the beds in the room was broken and sinking in the middle the headboard was greasy, and no balcony, I spoke with the front desk but nothing was never resolved, checking out I was charged an additional $49.00 which I wasn't sure what that charge was about because I had paid for my room in advance. you have to walk several blocks to get to the shuttle because it dose'nt pick up at the hotel. the hotel hides back in the corner away from everything.
Just not Pleased"

"We stayed at this resort for 10 nights. Overall there were numerous plusses: The hotel is situated very close to Universal Studios. Even if you want to head to the park - or return - at times where there is no shuttle service available, it only costs $8.00 to take a taxi. The pool and hot tub are great, the food available at the bar is quite good (and not overly expensive), the room is clean and well appointed (we had a 1 bedroom suite) and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
The only less than positive elements were the fact that Disney is quite far and the shuttle makes numerous stops so it ends up taking at least 45 minutes to get to Epcot (the only park for shuttle drops-off and pick-ups). Also, the sofa bed - where my daughters slept - was very uncomfortable. We ended up getting an extra mattress and sleeping on the floor. If you aren't going to be in the room very much, I recommend a room with two king beds instead."

"We stayed at Point Orlando Feb 08-12. Quality was fine. However, most hotels we have stayed at provided a FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. The Point charged $9.95 each PLUS $2.50 if you wanted coffee. The washer-dryer in the suite was fine, but having to pay the front desk $1.00 for a box of Tide was not. Same goes for $1.50 for a cup of instant coffee in room. I would rather pay an extra $20-$30 per night than to be 'nickel and dimed' all the time. Dealing with the bus service was not the most fun I ever had, either."

"PROS:
* The 1-Bedroom Grand Suite was really nice, which included both a shower and a jacuzzi tub, a fully equipped kitchenette including a Keurig coffee pot.
* The pool side cafe food was really good
* Within 2 long blocks from a Walgreens, which we walked to in order to grab supplies for the kitchenette
* About 1.5 miles from Universal Studio, could walk there if you really wanted to.
* The staff was friendly enough and when we asked for another mattress to place on top of the flimsy mattress on the hideway sofa-bed, we were accommodated promptly.
CONS:
*Other than replacing towels daily, the bathrooms were never cleaned.
* The resort boasted a close proximity (actually about 1.5 miles) to Universal Studios with daily shuttles, in fact, there was only one shuttle daily in each direction, so flexibility without a car left you with only a taxi-cab fare ($6-$8) each way, though there were additional shuttle times to Disney.
* The biggest peave I have was the fact that the hotel charges a daily $11 fee that was NOT listed in any hotel details until the trip was confirmed and the fee was listed in the fine print, which we didn't notice until AFTER we arrived at our destination.
* The workout room was very limited and did not have any audio or TV.
Overall I have stayed in better accommodations for the price."

"The resort was wonderful. Beds were comfortable and the one bedroom suite was very nice and accomadating. My only complaint is the shuttle service. It picked up and returned once daily for Universal, and more frequent for Disney. My complaint is the last pickup at Epcot was 10:05 pm and the light show started at 10:00. We chose to do the show and the return home took 2 hours via the Disney buses and city Link bus system. Drive your own car to Disney and everything will be wonderful."

"We love The Point. My wife and I stayed there for our 1 year anniversary. The room was perfect for the two of us to spend time together and relax. The room was very clean and spacious. The only thing we did not like was the fact that the only way to get into the hotel was through the main lobby. It would be a perfect hotel if there was room key entry available through all doors."

" We LOVED the Point Orlando. The room was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and the staff was very nice and helpful. THere is a breakfast buffet, but there is also a bar that serves food at the pool from 11am to 11 PM. It's a beautiful relaxing atmosphere, and only about 2 miles to Universal Studios. Their shuttle service to the parks is limited - only one that takes you there in the morning and one that brings you home in the evening, but to take a cab to Universal only cost us 8 dollars. I would definitely stay here again."

"We had a very nice stay at the Point Orlando Resort. The one bedroom suite had a roomy and clean King size bed. The main room had a nice leather couch and HD TV. The kitchen was fully appointed and there was a stackable washer/dryer which was really convenient especially with the humid FL weather. The bathroom was excellent with a jacuzzi tub and tile shower. It was spotless clean and felt very new and not as rundown as a lot of hotels in the area are.
Our only issue was the transportation shuttle to the parks which was pretty beat up and leaked when it rained. I know it was a free shuttle but it was really on its last legs. Advice: the hotel is a bit on it's own so you need to walk about 5 - 10 minutes to get to amenities and restaurants. You can take the I-Ride Trolley too which is $1.25 per trip. If you are going to Universal Parks or Wet & Wild, the hotel is perfect in terms of proximity. If you are going to more Disney parks, expect a 30-40 min shuttle ride to and from because of other hotel pick ups.

"Very nice place....everything was clean and nice furnishings...including full kitchen with w/d, livingroom and full size diningroom table, balcony. Didn't have the breakfast buffet but it smelled good as we were checking out. Staff was very friendly and eager to help...they even have a bellhop. I don't know if I would consider this a resort tho...just one pool...no grounds to wander and not much landscaping...parking was kind of far from entrance unless you got a space in front early and stayed there for the night. I would consider this a very nice hotel suite type of property. Wish they had room service or restarauant on premises...we only stayed one night so didn't really use kitchen or have groceries. The walls needed a cleaning from guests banging there luggage against them in our room...other than that it was a great stay and the entire staff was very personal and friendly. Great for families or couples...anyone who is staying for a few days or more will find this like an apartment away from home with everything they need. Very close to Universal Studios. Nice place to stay on your getaway!!"
