The hotel is elegant, yet great for relaxing after a long day at work. My room had a view of the golf course and I could see fireworks in the distance every evening around 9:30 pm. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. My only regret, I didn't have enough time to explore the spa. They open at 9 am and close at 7 pm, so if you are there on business plan to stay an extra day so you can enjoy the amenities. This is my new, favorite place to stay in Orlando.

I'm not really a resort person, but the JW Marriott exceeded my expectations. Katie at the front desk was very friendly and competent, and throughout our stay we found the entire staff to be similar. Granted we are planning a corporate meeting there and had been flagged as "VIP"s, but random housekeeping staff, the guy at the towel hut, etc. didn't know that, and they were just as nice and professional. The rooms were very nice, if a little small, and the pool and lazy river area are gorgeous an... Read more

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed the property very much. The staff there are excellent! The breakfast buffet it awesome! The spa is also a terrific facility... and we enjoyed our treatments there very much, but ... when we got the bill we were in for a big surprise. This is one of my favorite Marriott properties. The property is amazing and has something for everyone. The lazy river pool and the fitness center are over the top in a good way. The hotel staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They also do a great job of valuing Marriott rewards members. Whether you are here with family, for business or just for a romantic weekend, this is the best property in the Orlando area for all of it.

We've stayed at this place many times through the years and it was our favorite Orlando resort. It had been about three years since our last visit, and we were very disappointed to discover how the place has gone downhill. It's still a decent place, but it's obvious that the the hotel's ownership/management has decided to reduce expenses and cut corners. The pool area is dirty and the landscaping budget cut to the bone. The common areas and restaurants need to renovated (the upholstery at Primo... Read more

Visited for a few nights in February. Kind of cool, but nicer than NJ! Joined my husband, who was presenting at a conference. Beautiful lobby, rooms & grounds. It was a bit too cool for me to use the pool, but it was quite inviting. Restaurants were overbooked. Had a mediocre overpriced meal at the bar in one of their restaurants. Usual menu. Nothing special.

Beautiful property with everything you need for a family getaway. Golf course, lazy river, kids activities and a Starbucks on the premises. Our room had a balcony although it was too small to have chairs. (That would have been nice.) They did have fireworks on the weekend which we enjoyed from the balcony. The room was well appointed and everything from check in to check out went smoothly. Our first night, we opted to enjoy dinner at the pool side restaurant but do note that it closes rather ea... The resort is beautiful and the rooms are very nice, the staff was accommodating and helpful. Luxury and comfort in Orlando! Just the place to relax after a fun -- but hot and exhausting day at Universal Studios. The pool complex is well appointed, spacious with a lazy river. Our family enjoyed evening swims after dinner. There are various dining options from casual meals at Quench by the pool, to at least 3 restaurants in the hotel. Beautiful lobby, super comfy beds, and free shuttle to Universal added to the great experience.

My husband and I stayed here for five nights in May for our anniversary. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a hotel of this quality. The rooms were quiet, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly, the lobby was beautiful. If I had only one complaint it would be the times of transportation to and from the Disney parks. I had a conference and checked in for a five night stay. Great valet and bell staff upon arrival but it got even better. Jazzie checked us in and couldn't have been more accommodating. She gave us two adjacent rooms (two adults/two kids) on a higher floor with lake/pool views. The next day we came in to find a super kind hand written note with what was probably a $100 tray of snacks and iced local craft beers. So, so nice. The housekeeping staff was also amazing. This was a very nice hotel, very pleasant grounds and I loved the pool area and it's lazy river. We were 5 adults (family) across 2 rooms but were told by a surly attendant at the pool that we could only have 4 tubes and would have to pay $7 for the fifth one. Seriously?, we paid $4000 for 4 days, on top of that a resort fee, and were asked to pay a few dollars more for a tube? This hotel is collocated with the Ritz Carlton. They share a gym and spa. The rooms and public areas are certainly very nice, but noisy and crowded. It would guess at this time of year they cater to large groups. We did find the hours for meals inconvenient. On Sunday there was no place to go for lunch within the hotel, and Florida in August doesn't invite strolls outdoors. Liked the valet parking and the water station. The Kitchen restaurant had interesting food and friendly staff.

I am a devoted Marriott traveler, so I felt a special occasion would be the perfect time to check out the JW Grande Lakes. I called the concierge desk prior to making my reservation; left a message the first time, but was able to speak with someone the second time who was extremely helpful, reviewing package options with me and helping to customize one of their offerings to be the perfect birthday treat! ... Stayed here for a business conference and enjoyed it. The pool area is really fun. Large lazy river, large swimming pools and a hot tub. The staff was friendly. Also a full service Starbucks is located right in the hotel. I'd consider staying here again next time I return to Orlando.

Upon arrival the staff was amazing. Our rooms were ready and the bags were brought up straight away. The pool system was lovely and the staff was quite attentive. The JW offers pool floats for free when you arrive. So there is no need to bring your own. However, we brought ours and still used them. The buffet was amazing and so were the restaurant recommendations for off property. The location is fairly close to universal and Disney so there's no concern with traveling.

Arrived at the beautiful hotel. Easy to get around. Have all the amenities you need/want. The lazy river is so beautiful and relaxing. Plenty of chairs/loungers by the pool. Housekeeping was great. No complaints. The only complaint was make sure you check your bill. We were overcharged over $150 for valet (one night 2 times) and valet for the rest of the trip PLUS self parked. We only Valet one night. Our travel partners were billed $150 for bills in the lounge. This was not their bill, they ca... Read more

I stayed at the JW for a work event. The hotel is spacious, the rooms very comfortable. I love the super sized flat screen TV. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom offered a soaking tub and walk in shower. The grounds are beautiful and I was amazed at the conference facilities ability to deliver delicious meals to over 800 people! My only downside is that options for lunch are limited and the hotel lobby bar does not open until 5! The only option for adult beverages before 5 is the pool... Read more

I'm an SPG elite trying to get comfortable with the "merger" and this is my first JW stay in over 10 years. I've been to this property lots of times but stayed on the Ritz side. This time on the JW, I found pretty much the same flower carpet, wood furniture and stiff bed from 10 years ago. Like Grandma's house. However, the property grounds are nice and if someone at Marriott can find a designer from Starwood to help out with this property, it could be nice.

Went for a business conference. The room was outstanding. Great bed, huge TV (maybe 70"), Netflix on TV, just HD channels. Modern look and very pleasant. The hotel is like lots of Orlando hotels which are these massive properties and it is very hard to do anything outside. The food options within the hotel were not very diverse and other restaurants were a nice car ride out. The property is so massive and it doesn't feel very inviting anywhere. Seemed like a great hotel. Rooms where nice and clean. Was there for business and with the weather not cooperating, did get get to experience some of the amenities. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Only issue, may or may not be related to the hotel, is the price of sundry items in the shop. $20+ for a single razor is a little on the ridiculous side - but does knock home a good lesson not to forget your beauty and care items.

We (a family with 2 teenagers) stayed at the JW Grande Lakes for two weeks in July. The rooms are large and well-equipped and many rooms are interconnecting. The grounds and facilities are outstanding. Grande Lakes is just a short drive away from all Disney and Universal Parks and is a large fantastic non-themed resort to relax after a long day in the parks. It is so good that if the parks are not your cup of tea you will happily stay behind and spend days at the JW without the desire to go anyw... Read more

This Marriott is upscale and very comfortable. I was so disappointed at breakfast to order an omelette and find that my offhanded yes to an offer of toast - nothing special - added $5 to my bill. Then the same thing for a bottle of sparkling water when I ordered a cheese tray -$11 for the water. Clients would be much happier if the staff were trained to say, "this is a la cate and costs...."

We wanted to visit both Universal and Disney so decided to stay at the Marriott and uber around. This was a great property. There was plenty of space in our room and the pool area was very nice (pool and lazy river plus wait staff to bring food and drinks as needed). There was a free shuttle to and from the parks as long as you reserve in advance (really was free, but the times weren't always perfect so we ended up using uber as a fill-in).

The main shining star of this hotel is their personnel. Everyone we encountered, beginning with the bellhop, were friendly and helpful. The decoration is tasteful although the color scheme beginning to look slightly dated. Toiletries, towels and gowns make you feel pampered. We ate in one of the restaurants which was excellent. Being on a higher floor sometimes meant the water wasn't hot enough but that was offset by the amazing view.

They assisted with moving rooms if needed, planning meetings or gatherings if needed, and assisted with having a few items placed in rooms prior to check in (cupcakes, flower arrangements, etc.). They always said "yes" when we had a request and came through every time. The valet team is fast. The dining options are excellent. And the pool is amazing.
