"Very centrally located. There were many good restaurants within just a mile of the hotel. I was pleased to discover the hotel has a doctor on call 24/7, in case one of your party becomes ill. There are also a few urgent care clinics (one specifically pediatric) within a few blocks. We needed to make use of this while there.
The water park was just large enough-it wasn't so big that I worried if I looked away for just a moment, I would lose sight of my child. I was able to relax in a beach chair and allow my four year old to climb the jungle gym-like platforms to the water slides. Set apart, there is another section of three much taller water slides for older kids and adults. The arcade was fun for the whole family. One thing to note-you are charged for the water park whether you take advantage of it or not.
The buildings are currently being updated.
There is a small fridge in each room but NO microwave.
Housekeeping left much to be desired. The floors in the hallways were noticeably dusty and littered. Our bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly even once while we were there (I will leave the way I know this to your imagination).
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, if you don't mind housekeeping discrepancies (bring Clorox wipes). It's close to many amusements and very entertaining for children."

"Nice motel, priced right. I was impressed with the quality of the renovation. Lacking was the resort fee it was too cold in the water at the water park for my child so we ended up not using it but paid an additional $60. The towels in the room could stand to be softer, after showering it felt as if I was drying off with sand paper. everything else was above board for the amount of money we spent."

"Rooms where small. Staff was rude and unpleasant. Was forced to pay a forty dollar fee for amenties and parking. I was unable to use the water park or pool because weather was too cold. I had no need to use any of the other amenties was hardly at the hotel because we had to find something to do. The arcade was unclean and overpriced. The restuarants where unclean and more of fast food then a nice place to dine. Rrquests for extra towels was denied. My husband ended up having to go up front and get towels himself. Not many ice machines so we had to hike to get to one. Had feather pillows in the room which everyone has alllergies and can't sleep on. Would not recomend or stay in again. Bad choice and poor value."

"We booked here for a night before a morning flight out of MCO. We requested early check-in when we reserved and we were promptly accomodated on arrival - giving us most of a day at the resort. Check in staff were friendly and helpful - gave us a map of the resort and a basic orientation. The room was nice - it had a big flat screen TV, crisp linens, a mini fridge, and good storage spaces. The floors could have been a little cleaner - but then I'm kind of OCD. We spent a good 4 hours in the water park with fun music playing, plenty of activities for our 5-year-old and plenty of places for parents to sit and relax nearby. What made our visit outstanding was the staff. The life guards were everywhere and I really felt like my kid was safe. The Tradewinds waitstaff were fun and attentive and we were pleasantly surprised that the food was both affordable and tasty. We liked it so much we went back for their breakfast buffet. Our family is 'diverse' and we were made to feel very welcome by everyone we met. We will definitely go again - a nice way to finish off a trip visiting the grandparents Florida."

"Great place for kids. $9 'Resort' fee is not justified as I only slept at the Motel with self parking available around the buildings as in most motels. This is a Motel with a waterpark attached to the building. Most motels have a pool and most motels have a clerk at the front desk without a 'resort' fee. The $19 resort fee/room/day is justified if you use it with the family. So $19 well worth it, but $9 to sleep in the motel not worth it."

"It was more of a motel than a hotel. It is an updated 1970's motel. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. However, it is definitely not a room for more than 3 people. Definitely did not have adequate space to eat in room. The bathroom was extremely small. The coffeemaker and refrigerator were not as expected...definitely not made for an extended stay. Had to go buy a full size coffee pot..one in room is a one cup maker. Could not store a gallon of milk in the fridge.
Cons of the hotel are that it is clean and you do get daily maid service with fresh towels. It is very centrally located and very close to Universal Studios and many places to eat at night. I would not recommend to stay here in November or later in the year. If you are paying to stay for the kids to go to the water park and arcade, it definitely is not worth that. The pictures are somewhat misleading on the website.
Would not stay there again at this time of the year. Might consider it in the Summer months.

"This was heaven for my 10 and 7 year old daughters! The waterpark was the perfect size that I felt comfortable letting them run around on their own and I was never too far away. Also, the lifeguards were very alert and constantly walking back in forth in their designated areas to be sure no one needed help. Their dad loved the outdoor bar that was not too expensively priced for a resort. They provided pool towels at the waterpark and the staff was very friendly all around. The room was decorated very nicely inside, but I have to admit when we first drove up, the outside 'motel' appearance had us a little worried. Overall our stay was very nice. Did not like the extra resort fee, I wish they would just build that into the initial price, but I did know about it beforehand, so I cannot complain too much."

"I read a few reviews on here about the hotel being short staffed and in some areas that is true. The restaraunt was extremely short staffed, but they made up for it in other areas. They have an abundance of staff and life guards at the outdoor water park, which is very important. The life guards did an excellent job and they were on top of things at all times. I have three sons, ages 16 years, 6 years, and 18 months. They all had a GREAT. There were a few times when I had to take my eyes off of my younger sons for a moment to discipline one of them or help them with something and to my surprise, one of the life guards on duty would show up right there watching my other child closely with a great attitude 'as if they were saying it's ok mom we've got your back. The rooms were spacious, clean, cool and comfortable. Maid service was very friendly and did a good job. I didn't have any faulty plumbing or issues with my room, linens, towels or services. The water park is large and has areas for toddlers, bigger kids and adults to enjoy. The kids enjoyed karaoke, swimming and games. The arcade room is about the size of Chuckee Cheese with a Dave & Busters type atmosphere, considering that adults are also playing games, you use a game card that you apply money to instead of tokens and you have access to alcoholic beverages at the tiki bars in the waterpark and heated swimming pool areas. This is a comfortable water park for the adults, especially if you have infants because there is plenty of shade to relax in. You don't have to be out in just the straight sun, which can be miserable to very small children or babies. They play great music and during my four night stay I didn't witness any problems that called for security or any overly intoxicated adults. The mixed drinks were pretty good by the way, and they were reasonably priced as well. There is a Cici's Pizza directly across the street. Within walking distance on the sidewalk you have access to TGI Friday's, Chilli's, and an extremely large McDonald's, plenty of convenient stores and gift/souvenir shops. Florida Mall is only a few miles away and there is a nice movie theater and plenty of other attractions just minutes up the street driving distance. There is a small store located inside of the hotel but it is pricey. There is also a Pizza Hut in the Arcade and Waterpark area which was reasonable and convenient for lunch time. We ate at one of the larger restaraunts outside of the hotel for dinner. There is a small fridge in your room. I utilized mine for luncheables, dips for chips and crackers, and milk for breakfast cereal in the mornings when the kids first woke up. I also kept an igloo cooler in my room with plenty of gatorades, caprisuns, and waters during our stay. It was by far the best hotel stay that I've ever had with my kids as far as being affordable and enjoyable with a lot more to do and see than just your average hotel room and boring swimming pool lol. There is another kid friendly hotel with a waterpark in Orlando that is also very nice, but you will pay over double the money per night there and it isn't THAT much better....I'm just saying :-)"

"The overall stay at CoCo Key was very good. The water park and pool are a great plus since we had a 10 year old with us. We had as much fun in the water as he did. A great family experience. The one bad experience was we never got our wake up call at 4am on our last day. That could have caused us to miss our flight. Luckily the cell phone alarm worked. Also, the lobby staff member was not too helpful with directions to the airport at 5am that morning."

"My trip to Orlando was fantastic. Coco Key is a great place to stay. Everything was very clean. The room was spacious and the employees friendly. My daughter loved the water park and the swimming pool. The only complaint I would have is that the breakfast in Tradewinds was not the great. Even though I had free coupon for kids eat free, I didn't frequent the breakfast again, nor the dinner. Pizza hut and Callaloo Grille food was great, but Pizza Hut was a little pricey. I would definitely stay at Coco Key again. You are right on I-Drive and the I-Trolley takes you up and down the street. You really didn't need to rent a car. Coco Key is a wonderful place to stay. We'll be back next year. We love it!"

"I don't even know where to begin...the water park was the only thing that was nice. We had a dirty tub with hair and a opened pack of soap left in shower from previous people. The bed sheets smelled old and didn't appear to been freshly washed and the lights in the hall/bathroom was blown and had to wait 30 minutes to have new bulbs put in. And lit took us 45 minutes to check in cause they couldnt find our reservations and the pool and hot tub area stayed nasty with empty beer cans all over the place and had to clean an area every time we went to swim."

"The second day we were at the hotel we went out shopping for the day and when we returned our room reaked. I phoned the front desk to complain but no one every came to check it out. Two days later our room reaked of smoke (all rooms are non smoking) we had to put towels at the bottom all the doors to stop the smell from coming in. Two days in a row we had a puddle of water in our bathroom. We never received our I trolley passes. Half way through the week our door keys didn't work. On our last day we went to the water park. My daughter went back to the room to get something and they wouldn't let her back in. They told her she had the wrong bracelt on and had to go wait in line with eveyone who was just there waiting to get in the water park. Lots of inconveniences and some apologies."

"This was an excellent hotel and we would go there again if ever in Orlando. It was only minutes from Disney and located around great restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed our time there and our girls (ages 7 and 10) loved the water park. The room was clean and upated. I just wish the waterpark opened earlier in the day and was open later at night (if I remember right, it opens at 11am and closes at 7pm). Highly recommended."

"The lifeguards are very efficient at watching the children in the pools. My kids enjoyed the waterpark and the hotel locations is great. It was close to everything including Universal. The room was a bit shabby. The bathroom sink was clogged and the cleaning service left much to be desired. I requested an extra blanket but I never received it."

"Great place to stay for 2 days and use the time in the water park. The life quards were working extremaly hard watching kids. I was very comfortable at the water park with my autistic child who does not speak and loves water activities. The staff at the pool was very polite. The house keeping services needs improvment.. "We have stayed at this hotel many times and have found it to be in a good location although the cross roads of Sandlake Blvd and I Drive is a busy intersection. The hotel in generally clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is alots for the kids to do at this resort and if it rains and they have to close the pools for any length of time the lifeguard staff plays games with the kids until the waterpark re-opens. There is always lots of staff walking around, however I think they could use more Front Desk Staff to make checking in alot faster and have staff availble to answers questions from guest. We have enjoyed this hotel many times but would not recommend staying there if it is High Season or on weekends. It gets to busy and the pools get really dirty and not enjoyable with so many people. There is a resort fee so be aware. Overall good value if you can get this hotel for under $100 and night."

"I spent a week at this hotel with my daughter and 2 grandsons, ages 6 and 8. We spent a few days going to Disney, Lego Land and Universal but the kids enjoyed the pool and water park the most. The pool was heated, the jacuzzi was big and the water park was great fun. There were plenty of lifeguards in the water park. The Trade Winds Restaurant, Pizza Hut and the convenience store on premises were reasonably priced and very convenient. The breakfast buffet was excellent! There is also an arcade and activities for the kids, giving them plenty to do. The room was clean and comfortable, with ample room for the 4 of us. The staff was very professional, helpful and courteous. I would definitely stay here again."

"We stayed at the CoCo Key Resort from Feb. 25-March 1. We had a great time at the hotel. Although the resort is more of a motel compared to a hotel, the place met all of our needs. I liked the water park for the kids. Our kids ages are 10, 5, and 2. There was an area for each kid. As adults, we also enjoyed the water slides.
The staff was very friendly. I also appreciated the lifeguards. They were constantly watching, and walking around. I liked the mini fridge in the room. There is a Walmart one mile away, and there is a CiCi's pizza right across the street. We ordered three medium pizzas for $9.99.
The room was clean and fit our small family well. The beds were comfortable. You can request that your sheets are changed every day if you would like. The staff also did a great job cleaning our room.
Some suggestions for improvement would be the quite the air conditioner, include a microwave in the room, a clean the grout lines in the bathroom.
You are not far from Disney, or the airport. I would stay here again."

"Overall, great. WiFi avail to stay in touch, business centre to print tickets/vouchers..., flat screen tv w/ some HD channels, 4 types of water areas to accomodate all kids and experiences, lobby great and amenities to boot. Only issue was room cleanliness (addt'l detailing could have been done) but that is subjective. Again, great time and great stay."

"I had A Queen Delux room and they gave me 2 Full size beds... People were very noisey next to us all night and the staff didn't want to do anything about it. Rooms were very small and over priced!! I will never go back again!!"

"On our 2nd day we back to our room smelling like someonewassmokingand it was coming through our ventilation(smoke free resort). We reported this and waited 2 hrs by the pool and still no one came to fix the problem. Finally a housekeeper came and sprayed some freshener but still no luck. Finally the evening staff moved us to another room and that was fine except the vent was extremely dusty and so was behind the TV. We stayed here a year ago and had absoultely NO problems. Pools & waterpark were extremely clean. I would recommend staying here only if your not doing alot of DisneyParks as the water park here is only open from 11-5pm....so we did not get to use our resort water park much."

"Absolutely loved this place! A lot of fun for kids with all of the water slides which are good for all ages. There are 3 different slide sections so kids and adults can enjoy them. The pool away from the slides was also great; nice cabanas where you can get away from the loudness of the water park area, sit and relax for a bit. Also, a friend of us had already told us that the rooms did not have refrigerators nor safes, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to a room with refrigerator and safe! The staff was great, the food and drink prices were affordable, the kids were incredibly happy and we truly enjoyed ourselves."

"Just got home from Coco Key in Orlando today...great place to stay. I read a bunch of reviews before I left and was kinda nervous, but once I got there I was very pleased. The front desk staff were wonderful. Housekeeping really did a good job keeping us supplied in towels and tidying the room daily. Very close to everything Universal. The resort fee was reasonable (if you choose to use the water park, if not then don't stay here because it is a mandatory fee) My kids 16, 13, and 12 loved the water park. The pool hotel is very pretty even though we didn't use it....We stayed right next to the water park and the noise level really wasn't that bad. I will return to this resort on our next visit to Universal...."

"This appears to be a renovated older motel/hotel. I was reluctant at first, based on the appearance of the exterior of the buildings (brightly colored doors and walls) but the interior was surprising! We had a double queen deluxe room. The decor was extremely fun!!! Brightly colored chairs and beds with modern furnishings . The bathroom had modern fixtures and used eco-friendly bath products. And it was extremely clean!!! An amazing indoor water park for younger children and a variety of water slides for older children/teens/adults IN ADDITION to a separate pool. Walking distance to several attractions and very convenient driving to all major Orlando attractions. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. No parking pass required and no charge for parking. Free breakfast/dinner for kids with purchase of adult meal. Laundry facility was also decent, for a hotel. My kids had a blast!!!! Not a place I without children, but with kids it was perfect!! ALSO.... surprisingly very quiet!!!! Overall excellent experience and would recommend highly over some other 'resorts' who cater to kids. This is the route to go!!!! "

"This place is amazing. Conveniently located to gift shops and different restaurants. It was a $6.00 cab away from Universal Studios (but there is a shuttle bus provided by the hotel). Just 20 minutes away from the Orlando Airport. Little store inside the resort along with a pizza hut. Buffet style restaurant for breakfast and dinner was great too. Absolutely no complaints about the hotel or the staff. The rooms are impressive. Only one thing that could be better is if the rooms had refrigerators and microwaves but other than that, this place was excellent. Cant wait to go back. The kids had loads of fun at the indoor pool when it rained and the water park outdoors throughout the day. My family and I were very pleased."

"We found this hotel to be awesome for a family with children and probably the best value for a hotel with these great amenities anywhere in Orlando.The rooms, newly renovated were large and well appointed.The beds were probably the most comfortable of any hotel we've stayed in.We stayed in the Tower which is centrally located between the main pool and the full feature water resort it is also much quieter than poolside and close to the restaurant and pool bar.There is a daily shuttle to several parks.The restaurant had a modest but delicious buffet for $11.95 with kids 12 and under eating free with each adult.Be sure when you book the hotel you add a $19 per night resort fee when considering the price this was listed in the fine print of the Book it reservation and was a surprise when we got there and was the only reason I rated the value as a 4.Considering the grand kids couldn't wait to get back to the hotel it was worth the fee."

"Coco key is a great hotel but it does have a few draw backs things like no fridge or microwave in the king room (as of my stay) and the water park is open to the public so gets very crowded even though you are being charged $20.00 a day for the use of the water park even if you don't use it
Staff is very friendly but is over worked by management also management doesn't have enough staff on site but this is in no way the staffs fault like i said they were very friendly and they try very hard to make your stay the best that they can all in all I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay especially if you have kids "
