"We arrived on Friday March 9th, and were placed in the Orange Building, room 6-119. I will say that check in was very quick and painless. My first indication of upcoming potential problems should have been while I was checking in. In the very few minutes that I was in the lobby, the front desk received no less than 5 complaint phone calls from residents. Like I said, check in was quick, so that many calls in such a short time was a bit alarming. Most were complaining about the fact that there was NO cable or Wi-fi throughout the entire property. The Wi-fi was not such a big deal, but the cable? For people who have kids, and the fact that this was a VERY wet and rainy weekend in Orlando, no cable is a bad thing. Probably the most alarming phone call I heard while in the lobby went something like this (on the front desk end) 'Yes Ma'am, I'm so sorry that you have no water in your room. If you want to walk down here to the front desk, I will give you a key to another unit. You can go there and shower, and then go back to your room.' Wait, what? Yes, these people had no water, and the front desk wouldn't #1- offer to move them to a new room entirely, and #2, not even walk a key TO them to let them shower elsewhere. Yes ,come and pick up your own key and go find another place to bathe. As I said, it was a very untypically rainy weekend in Orlando. On Sunday it rained the entire day. The sidewalks were SLICK. Very slick. We had to tread lightly everywhere, for fear of falling. Parking in the buildings near the lobby was scarce. The staff drives golf carts EVERYWHERE. And guess what- they park in spots intended for guests. So when you think there's an open spot that isn't going to require you to walk forever in the rain to the room, just look closer and there will be a staff golf cart parked there. Upon checking into our room, the first thing we did was make sure the water worked. Checked the room out in general. It is older and worn down, but most hotels in Orlando are. It was clean, so we decided that was good enough. It is possible that we were in a room that has not yet been updated....at least I hope that's the case. In our living room, not only was the cable not working, the actual faceplate of the outlet was off, laying in the floor, with the screws beside it. We had to hook up our own cable...thankfully it worked then, but the wi-fi never did. We asked about it, they didn't seem to care. That was pretty much the general idea that I got about the front desk staff....they are getting paid, and they don't care about much else. Bedrooms...we had a 2 bedroom unit, because we were in town for a cheer competition. A two bedroom unit was what I booked and paid for on Bookit, but when we asked about the issues in the room, the front desk reminded us that THEY had upgraded us to a 2 bedroom unit 'executive suite'. Um, no. That's what I booked myself, and paid for. My daughter and I slept in the bedroom with two twin beds...the beds were horribly loud, and made a noise every time you rolled over, moved, blinked, etc. Not a good nights sleep after a very, very long day. The main bedroom had a jacuzzi tub in it. Since it was pouring rain, the girls decided to put on their swim suits and play in the tub. When they turned on the jets, huge chunks of dirt and mold blew into the water. That night, as I was standing in the kitchen, I heard someone put their key card into our door. I assumed that it was a maintenance man coming to fix the cable (though we already had), but I was really shocked when a random stranger and her child walked into our room. I don't know why she was at the wrong room to begin with, but the fact that her key card worked to open our door was really scary. Needless to say, we kept the door latched the rest of the time we were there, which I normally do anyhow. We had just gotten back into the room about 30 minutes before that and hadn't latched the door yet. Told the staff about this and his response was 'Yes, it was a chaotic day.' Day 2, we came back from a long day of cheer at approximately 10pm. The air conditioning had been set on 72, but the actual temperature was 74. With all of the rain, it was extremely humid in our room. We called maintenance, and he opened our air unit to find the entire thing frozen into a solid sheet of ice.We had to practically beg him to give us a new filter to use, as it was obvious that the one in there would be soaking wet once it was thawed. he made some remark about it taking 3 hours to defrost, then told us how WE had to change the settings once it melted. No way was I staying up until 1am to wait on this thing to thaw, so we went at it with a butter knife and a hair dryer. About 20 minutes later, it was finally melted. I cut my finger twice trying to thaw this out, but finally we went to sleep with very cold air. The next morning, it was already halfway frozen up again, despite us leaving the cover off and filter out all night. Checkout was quick and painless, they didn't bother to ask how the stay was. Not sure if they cared, or if they just already knew the answer. 2 days after returning home, both adults (myself and my friend) are now horribly sick with flu-like symptoms. Not sure if this is related to this room since there was mold growing in several places, or if we picked up something at one of the parks. However, it's safe to say that if they gave me a free week at this place, I still wouldn't take it. Room Tip: Maybe ask for an upgraded room. If you get in the orange building, 6-119, run away as fast as you can"
