The motel was a pleasent trip back in time to the old Florida. No high rises or any other thing to detract from it's natural beauty. The beach was o.k. but you had to walk a bit. The rooms were really small but updated very nicely. The parking can be a problem because they don't have any assigned parking . So if guests happen to come over to visit some one and you return from going out you may not find a place to park. The bathroom was very small but clean. Perfect place for two people to relax ... Spent a weekend with family here. Hotel has rooms for whatever ur needs are- 1,2 , 3 bedrooms with kitchenettes or the typical hotel room. Unit 47 faces a waterway and has a dock u can fish off of and see the sunrise above the trees. Clean units. Nice sheets and towels .New pool furniture as well as chaise lounges. Natalie,JJ and Kelly were very accommodating if u need anything. Cant beat the sunsets on the beachside! Will definately return! A very nice gem.

We had a bayside queen room that felt small when you walked in but was actually very comfortable! We were a short walk to the beach, the staff was terrific! We enjoyed the beach, the drum circle and all the restaurants within walking distance! We will go back!!

The rooms are always very clean and they have really taken the time an effort to make them nice and updated. Super close to the beach and just overall so relaxing to be there. We have a group that stays there twice a year, plus some of us stay there on quick get a ways on our own. Natalie and JJ along with the rest of the staff are always VERY accommodating, you simply could not ask for anything more !!!

We spent four days here with our boat club friends, there were enough of us to rent the entire facility, over 50 people. They have 10 or 12 rental boat slips available also. Part of the rooms are on the Gulf of Mexico beach and others are on the intercostal waterway. Boat slips are on the intercostal side. Rooms were clean and furnished with eat in kitchen. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great out of the way place.!!!!...We stay here every year and continue to love it. It has a fabulous beach, great rooms and staff, and is off the beaten track. It is very clean and has a full kitchen and nice courtyard and pool for group activities.

This was our first trip here and we were with a group. We booked pretty much all the units and had a great time. There is easy access to the beach and boats on the canal across the street. The units are all updated. We stayed in an efficiency and my only complaint would be the lack of a shelf in the bathroom (no place to set toothbrush or anything on the small sink). The beach is amazing and only a short walk to the local "Drum Circle" that happens on Saturday nights. That is an event not... Read more

We stayed here for a wedding where they did a resort take over. We stayed in unit 12. The private deck was nice. Very clean unit. This unit is over the office. Staff was accommodating. The beach is really great. Other family stayed in unit 19 closer to the courtyard. Clean unit. Both units have sleeper sofas that were very uncomfortable as most sleeper sofas are. So keep that in mind. They have a very nice pool and plenty of loungers for the beach. Recommended for families.

I stayed here for 4 nights, The service was friendly and great. The location is wonderful. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it needs to be updated. the fridge was so loud it was hard to sleep. You can hear everything outside even when the windows were shut. Had some people out side have fun at night which I can under stand they are on vacation but we could here everything the were talking about. Wifi needs to be updated, we could never get on. Beach was great.

The beach was beautiful and we had a lot of fun in the pool. Liked that lounge chairs were provided on the beach. We have stayed here several times and the staff is always wonderful. This time we had one of the beach front rooms but it was not as nice as some of the others rooms we have stayed in. The bathroom could use updated and the sofa bed was not good. The view of the beach was magnificent! We will be staying again this week end but are booked in an efficiency room. Hoping it is a more lik... Read more

We stayed in room 23 on the Gulf side. You are literally steps from the sand. Enjoyed the hammock and the courtyard. I, like so many other reviewers will comment that the rooms are just not very clean. Sandy floors, dirty mirrors and the fridge had some leftover sticky stuff in it. If the room would have been cleaner I would have given top billing. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would give them another try.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. Shared patio with other rooms but feels private as there are plants everywhere. Efficiency room is too small if you plan on having friends over like we did to hang out but the patio was a nice place to congregate and eat. Patio also has grill. Rooms were clean with good sized kitchen and comes with basic kitchen utensil necessities. Beach is beautiful with awesome sunsets. Would stay here again for sure in a one bedroom suite.

I reserved multiple nights for a quick getaway from home and work, but found out the night before my arrival I would have to return for work early. I quickly notified the front office hoping I would not have to pay for the entire stay since I would have to leave early. The office staff was so friendly and they not only assured me that I could cancel the other nights with no charge, but that if the room went unrented and I would like to do a late check out, I could do so for a small fee. I was... Read more

This was my second visit to A Beach Retreat on Casey Key and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. I stayed in a beachside efficiency, which is perfect for one or two people. The room was very nice, with a kitchenette, pub table, and a very comfortable queen bed. The beach is just a few steps away. This is a great place to relax for a while. I'll definitely be back.

Staff is very attentive to guest needs. Our rooms were clean and very well furnished. The area is laid back and casual, which inspired relaxation. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the beach....a few steps away to paradise! The availability of beach lounge chairs were a big plus. We loved our early morning beach walks, finding a large variety of sea shells and other treasures as well as looking at the numerous sea turtle tracks. Good restaurants in the area; just a short walk to local sh... Read more

Our family has been coming to Casey Key for many years and this was our 2nd yr staying at A Beach Retreat- already made our reservation for July 2017. Staff was very friendly and helpful-- Rooms were clean -and furnished with everything we could possibly need. We stayed beachside and was a short walk to the beach- just across the street to the pool - close to resturants, Publix, homemade ice cream store ( my grandchildren enjoyed that) Walmart not far-- grills are available- our son in law... Humid and hot summer weather aside - this is a lovely place to unwind for the whole family. In addition to the beach which is just as tempting as the pictures show, plus turtles nests, our 7yr old also enjoyed the patio and all kinds of birds nearby. Hope to come back again!

The second I step foot in our room I saw food crumbs, trash, and dirt all over the floor. I ended up cleaning it myself because I couldn't stand the filth. Desk clerk was not very helpful and when we booked we had booked a room with a bay view and we did NOT receive the room we payed for. Below is a photo of what I swept up just in the kitchen. I will not be revisiting.

Upon arrival to our room we found they had swept all the dirt, food crumbs, and trash under the counters, tables, and couches thinking we would not see. Left the same review on their Facebook, they removed it. Do not recommend Very small example below

My wife and I needed a place to get away for a few days and A Beach Retreat was the place. Some friends recommended it and we were not disappointed. The beach was great, and the room was exactly as promised. I would definitely come back.

Room was adequate. Some things were dated, but overall perfect for our needs. The couch and under the couch were not cleaned thoroughly. Great location if you have a boat and plan to fish the inlets or just spend the day at the beach. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

We wanted to bring the children for a weekend trip before school starts back up. The room was cute and furnished nicely we rented the one bedroom which accommodated the 4 of us comfortably. The only complaint I have of the cottage is the bathroom didn't smell so clean and the pool looked like it could use some cleaning as well. We loved the convenience of having the dock to fish off of and the beach being directly across the way. The beach is beautiful. It was very well worth the price. We wish... Read more

My husband has a client that has been telling him for years about this place, so we decided to go check it out for the weekend. We stayed in room 24 which looks out onto the beach, and it has a beautiful view. The room is a one bedroom with a couch that will let out, so it will sleep 4. (I would like to say that I am pretty picky about mattresses and the one in our room was great, very comfortable). But it was just the two of us so there was plenty of room. The kitchen is small but adequate with... Read more

Not many places to stay in Nokomis or Venice for a few nights. Mostly condos and residential. Quiet area. Great beach. A beach Retreat is an old place that has been rehabbed. Small mom and pop style hotel. I love these kind of places. If you are looking for luxury and room service dont come here. Very clean and nice for the money. Right on the beach. Only front rooms have a ocean view. Ours was a studio type apartment. Small refrigerator kitchen area with table. OK for a few days but ... Read more

I stayed here with my family a couple of weeks ago (early August) for a quick 3-day getaway and we had an incredible time! I really didn't know what to expect as I booked the location based solely on reviews (and affordability), but this place really delivered. We were so pleased from the moment we walked in until we left. Everything was updated and clean and it had just the right amount of room for our family. We stayed in a one BR with a sleeper sofa. The bed was super comfortable and the... Read more
