"Not worth it! I was told that the side we stayed in was the renovated side of the hotel. NOT TRUE! On the old side, the furniture is definitely worn, the tub had a slow drain and the AC temp stayed on freezing. The next day, a cleaning lady showed up with a rag and mop...no cleaning cart in sight. Not sure if the cart showed up later but she also provided one face cloth and hand towel for the two of us. Overall the old rooms are just okay. Yes. Management allowed me to switch to the renovated side on the second day at no additional charge; however, it was not much better. Not only was the room located in front of the elevators and random guests knocked on our door in the middle of the night, but the quality of the remodel was subpar at most. They obviously cut corners and used inexpensive (cheap) materials. Did I mention the AC didn't work at all? At the end, the manager waived the resort fees for the two days. While I appreciated that, it just didn't make up for my overall experience. I will say that the beach experience was very nice...thank God. Won't be back."

"I book 4 nights at this hotel from April the 5th to the 9. I had to leave on the 8 at 2AM for medical emergency. The refuse to refund me the last night. Adition to that, our room was on the new renovated side and we were able to ear EVERYTHING from the other room¸and from the hall. The renovation noise outside was bad too :S PS don't stay on the shorecrest side. IT's ugly and extremly noisy. The only positive point with this hotel is the location. 40$ forr parking!!! Really?? just park in the public parking in front of the hotel."

"This hotel would have had a better review had we known beforehand that there would be limited access to full hotel amenities due to construction. There was no onsite gym or onsite restaurants like I hoped and paid for. I feel like we did not get the full experience for our money, especially since it had a heftier price tag than some of the other beach hotels, which is why we opted to pay more for this one. Other than this misfortune, the hotel was decent."

"Overall the place was okay. Part of the South Tower is still under renovations, first impression of our room was nice except for the view looking out at the beach, patio window was dirty, they didn't even bother cleaning the window, floor seems dusty and one last thing not enough towels. There's four of us so they only gave us 2 big towels and 2 small ones...bit disappointment. I feel this place is more for couples only, not for family accomodations. Would not return at this location."

"I took my son to Miami Beach for spring break. We showed up very late but were given a beautiful 10th floor room facing the ocean. We were so happy with the view. The room did not have much of a decor and the set up was strange. There was a sliding door for the bathroom and it did not close all the way giving us little privacy. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The hotel was under construction so there was no food at the pool or in the restaurant. Over all, it was a great experience and the location is perfect. I will definitely stay there again."

"Very surprised at the size of the room. Nice sized bathroom with double sink as well. Pool was nice even though I only passed it on the way to beach to sit on beach chairs supplied by hotel. Everyone on staff was pleasant. My only gripe was the inability to get an undisturbed nights sleep. The doors have about a 1' gap at bottom and you can hear everything in hallway. I heard everything from a sobbing woman at 2am to laughing couples returning from clubs.. Whenever someone on the floor closed their door, ours would rattle. I overheard one other guest complaining about same issues while sunbathing on beach. I would definitely come back again as I am happy with my experience there. Best of all, it was close to everything south beach is about, but far enough where it was quiet at night."

"So a few teacher friends and I traveled down to Miami for the first time and stayed here. The hotel was renovating the old tower and the restaurant but it never disturbed us at all! Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly staff they helped upgrade us to a room in the new tower. The room was nice a bit small but clean, new, and worked perfectly for what we needed! Only complaint was it was a very modern room and the bathroom door was a sliding one and didn't close all the way. Staff at this hotel do an amazing job to help you feel welcome! The first night due to our room change our room was not cleaned and staff immediately fixed the mistake and were always available to provide extra towels as we had four people in our room. Be aware that every day you stay there you will need to pay a $20 resort fee but I found it not a problem. The waiter service on the beach, two free chair and umbrellas, newspapers, free beach towel service, free WIFI, and friendly staff was worth the $20! Hotel is in walking distance of all major Miami attractions, many restaurants, and on the main strip! We never took a cab anywhere and it is right on the beach a double plus! I would recommend this hotel to my friends and loved ones, and would stay their again in a heartbeat! Have fun on your vacation as well :-)"

"The pictures were 100% accurate! We found a live roach in our king studio which upset me! I made them aware of it, they sent up a manager & the next day I was in an upgraded suite...the two suite were amazing ESPECIALLY the two room huge living area suite!!! The view was amazing & the staff was very helpful...& the location was PERFECT...even after the roach situation I still recommend this hotel heavily because both suites were so nuts!!!"

"Overall the Royal Palms is a nice place to stay, and probably one of the better places in South Beach for the price. $40 a day parking fee and $20 a day mandatory 'hotel tax/fee' ...so although my room was quoted at around $200 per night, w/ the parking and mandatory fees it was actually about a $260 room a night. For that price I would have expected a nicer room, yet for South Beach I am guessing everything is overpriced and $250 a night doesn't get you much. The Royal Palms is nice, yet the rooms are a bit run-down. The rooms look like your typical $150 a night rooms elsewhere, yet I think $260 a night for these rooms is probably decent a price for South Beach where everything is pricey."

"The hotel was a nice hotel but undergoing renovation and needed to accomodate the guest better.. the floor we stayed on was covered in plastic we had to beg for towels and to have our room cleaned.. they should have did better or at least upgraded your room and not have you on a floor that construction is being done on... Very disappointed will not return."

"My son and I just returned from our trip to Miami. The Royal Palm Shorecrest was awesome. We had a magnificent view, and we were in walking distance of shopping and eating. The staff at the hotel and on the beach were helpful and friendly. It was beautiful and clean. We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again."

"So me, my boyfriend and another couple went down for a week (mon-fri). we both got the king suite and when we checked into our room, it was two double beds, so the front desk person immediately helped us out and gave us a new room with a king bed. For the cost, the room was nice. had a living room with a tv, then the bedroom with a tv. the bathroom was a bit weird. it had a stall with a curtain, but there wasn't a ledge or tub so the water would spray/flow out of the shower area and since it was all tile, it would get pretty slippery. The sink and mirror was actually outside in a separate area from the bathroom which was neither good/bad.
The pools were nice. staff on the beach that helped us out were all very friendly and efficient.
i think the only bad thing would be the unfinished looking shower stall, OH and our ac unit didn't work but we actually didn't mind it too much. we were either out or in our friend's room which had freezing ac.
And if you can't sleep if theres any sort of noise, go after theyre done renovating because they start working around 9am which i think is kind of early if youre on vacation"

"THis was our first trip to South Beach. The hotel's location was excellent but the maintenance leaved something to be desired. The staff was excellent and very eager to help. I will want to stay at other hotels before truly rating the Royal Palm."

"There was construction going on which we were not told prior to traveling. We arrived on Saturday and saw a sign posted construction would be 9-5:30 Monday through Friday and 9-5 on Saturday. We were trying to get away to relax. They advised they could move us to another area where no construction was going on Sunday. On Saturday when we arrived the room it was a lot of noise going on with drilling, etc. The floor had stains in the carpet and the furniture, chairs had stains. We tried to be patient since we were told they would move us to a room on Sunday where there was no construction going on. On Sunday, when we went to exchange rooms, I advised them the room had stains and the hallway leading to the room was dirty like it hadn't been vacuumed. They advised me they could move to to a different part of the floor we were on. I advised we would still hear the noise during the week. I was told they would move us across from the pool area. No rooms were going to be available until later and we still were patient. When we came back later in the evening they gave us a key to look at the room. Again the floors had stains and the furniture sofa and chair had a stain. We decided to keep it so we wouldn't have the noise as they advised the hotel had been taken over by new owners and they were rehabbing it for the very reason it was outdated, etc. and asked us to be patient and they hoped next time we would come back and it would be better. Monday morning we heard banging and called and asked what was going on as they were not to be doing construction on that side. They informed us they were taking down and putting up new headboards so the drilling should not be too long. It last part of the day and the next couple of days as they were moving beds in different room. It was a little frustrating. They did opt to give us a $100 credit so we could use while at the site. In addition, they offered to pay for 3 of the 6 days of the resort fee per day which was $19.00 a day. It was a nice gesture but this did not leave for a good experience with this being our first trip to Miami. Very disappointed. We were there September 10-September 16."

"I have stayed at a number of SOBE hotels and I have to say Royal Palms is one of the cleaner properties. For the price and proximity to local attractions you cant go wrong at Royal Palms. The rooms could use some updating but the staff made all the difference. These people go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. The gentleman at the beach taking care of your drink & food orders are super friendly zipping around in the hot sun making sure you are taken care of. The multiple lonunge areas are nice to relax and enjoy some cocktails. All in all I have no real complaints. "

"Just got back from Miami Beach. My hotel of choice was the Royal Palm Hotel on Collins Ave.
This was certainly not my first stay at The Royal Palm and will not be my last. This was in fact my 6th stay at the little gem on the beach.

The hotel is very competitive in terms of room rates. The hotel is located right on the beach and a 2 minutes walk to Lincoln Road.

I've never had a problem with the hotel..No problems with the staff checking in or out or getting the room cleaned. The towels were more than enough and the bathrooms were spotless.

The hotel is just under 20 minutes from the airport.

We're not talking about the Fontainebleau or the W Hotel .We're talking about a fantastic hotel right on the beach with competitive prices for the location.
