THE PENGUIN HOTEL
The Penguin Hotel, is a shining example of 1940`s Late Art Deco style, which suggests the upcoming International Style of the fifties and sixties. Its original name was The Golden Dawn Hotel. The hotel is directly on Ocean Drive and 14th street, the ``quiet side`` of Miami Beach, directly across from the beautiful South Beach and only a few steps away from Lincoln Road, popular restaurants, bars and clubs.
PENGUIN ACCOMMODATIONS
A French Designer tastefully renovated the property, presently under Swiss Management, in 2006. This hip hotel boasts 42 non-smoking guest rooms, which are all different and unique, each appointed with one wall entirely covered with a picture portraying flowers, nature and other natural elements. The theme color of the Penguin is blue, due to its proximity to the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the crisp and clean tastefully decorated guest rooms. The hotel includes 8 direct ocean view rooms, with built-in seating at the window`s edge, to enhance the viewing experience. ``Ocean Front`` and ``Ocean Corner`` rooms in The Penguin Hotel feature panoramic strip windows with breathtaking ocean views, as well as panoramic views of South Beach, and plenty of light and sunshine.
Amenities
The hotel facilities have an Elevator (regular as well as handicapped), Patio with wade Pool (at the Sister Property), WiFi Signal in the Lobby, 1 Handicapped rooms available, in house Restaurant (serves breakfast, lunch and dinner) and a Vending machine (at the Sister Property). Some of the services that are provided are 24 hour front desk, international and multilingual staff, concierge service, Valet Parking $30 per day, beach towels available at front desk, and daily housekeeping and so much more. The room offers plenty of amenities a few are a bathtub in room, individually controlled AC, in room safe, compact refrigerator, and iron/ironing board. The standard rooms are about 250sq feet and come with one Queen Bed or 2 Full Size Beds. The Ocean Front Rooms are about 250sq feet and come with one Queen Bed. The Ocean Corner room comes with one or two Queen Beds.
Extras
Guests have also access to the amenities of the sister property the President Hotel (located directly behind the Penguin Hotel), which offers a nice, relaxing patio with a refreshing wade pool.

"There are about 35 rooms in a hotel,but only 2 rooms are facing the ocean/street,the rest are CONCRETE WALL VIEW or better yet - neighbors hotel window just couple yards away from your face,so the drapes have to be shut at all times. Really depressing! Not the pretty view that is being shown on their web site. Breakfast, internet,towels,and some other simple things at the hotel required 15$ a day to be available. Breakfast is btw ,nothing but plain serial and croissants,oh,and you have to tip the servant,if he sees you for that. Restorant people take you for an idiot not being able to distinguish food written on a menu from the food they bring to you. Would not recommend it to anybody unless you plan on check in, get drunk, get lost,check out. Not a bad place for that purpose."

"Perfectly located for accessability to just about everything on south beach. The only drawback was that the room had the cheapest mattress I've ever had in a room. It barely detracted from my stay, though."

"This was the cutest hotel and the staff was soooooooooo friendly! Would stay again and again.... everything was soooo conviently located and my sis and I didn't need a car. It's right across the street from the beach, mango's is 4 mins in walking distance and all the eateries were great as well...
Room was very clean and flat screen was an excellent perk as well.
Would recommend it to anyone visiting and just wants to be close to the beach."
