I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a conference, and found it adequate, but nothing special. The location of the hotel in the middle of a bunch of busy streets makes it a little unpleasant as a pedestrian. The whole hotel smelled strongly of disinfectant.

So very tired, even looking dirty. Stains on wallpaper, carpets, chips in porcelain and mildew in shower area. Not at all what we expected from a Hyatt Regency. I guess I'm getting old and so is the chain.

Old hotel downtown Miami. Not old as in historic, just old worn and tired. Location being everything, this is right on the Miami River. The street outside is not friendly, walkable or drivable. Sidewalk just ends steps outside the hotel in one direction, and the 'street' is taken over by taxis for parking. If you walk towards the river there are steps before the bridge beside the hotel but then you have to trek through overgrown brush and a homeless camp to get to the Miami RiverWalk. The hotel ... The location is fantastic! Right downtown, within walking distance to many things and on the metromover line, if you don't have a car. The hotel itself is nothing to write home about. It's fine, and that's about as positive as I can be. The building is old and smells like an old hotel - cleaner and some other smell I can't place. The front and lobby has been redone to give the impression of a new, chic hotel. But the rooms are just average. Given the price per night, I would have expected... Read more

This hotel, while centrally located, is in dire need of an update. Rooms were small, balconies didn't have doors (at least in my room) and there was no actual closet, just a door. The staff was very friendly, but overall, I'd say avoid this place.

We were surprised that a suite costs in the $100s compared to a similar downtown hotel location that runs hundreds more because the entire hotel really needs a renovation. We stayed in #2238 and had access to the Regency breakfast and afternoon happy hour. It's a great location. The staff is totally professional and the suite is roomy. We had breakfast on the 23rd floor one morning and it had lots of choices, including lox, hard-boiled eggs, and all kinds of breads, cereals and drinks. The tabl... Read more

We had an amazing view of the canal and the drawbridge. We spent several hours during our stay watching the marine activity. People have complained about the noise in reviews, but if you plan for it, there won't be a problem. It wasn't a bother to me (melatonin is my secret) but we did pack earplugs. Started with only one front desk staff for check-in (3 nights). Appeared understaffed consistently. Very slow elevators for the traffic. Definitely needs upgrading. Room was okay with sink separated by low wall. Safe required repair. Very late afternoon room refresh Inlet view was nice but nearby (draw) bridge was quite noisy even for 15th floor. Bathroom small with shower/tub. Location: about 15 from restaurants. N Suitable for conventions in terms of value. Definitely not a 5 star.

Good location by the river, easy to walk to the Bayfront area as well as Brickell which is the best place for restaurants within walking distance. Friendly and helpful check-in staff. Great location. There is a Whole Foods just across the street so that you can eat some meals cheaply and splurge on some at the nearby pricey but excellent restaurants nearby. It didn't start off too good as our key would not open our room and it took almost an hour to get inside after maintainence had to unscrew the door. But it was clear sailing afterwards. I liked the room setup and the hotel staff was nice. I've been coming to Miami for business for 5 years now and our first stay at the Hyatt. The Hyatt was much nicer and friendlier than the other (upscale) hotel we had been using. A little pricier than I prefer, but overall a good stay.

Located in the Heart of Miami on the inner-coastal is the Hyatt Regency. We had a great time at the Supercon event. The Hyatt provided transportation to the Conference Center at no charge. Good thing because traffic is fierce. Plenty of staff to help out and they are very helpful. Prices are crazy high. Glass of wine was $9. dinner buffet was $26 per person. This is a good, but expensive hotel. The location is difficult to get to. If you're local, you can get there easily enough, but the streets in Miami are laid out weird. And drivers in Miami are rude and aggressive and they _will_ cut you off. If you are driving a taller vehicle, note that this hotel only has a parking garage, so clearance may be a problem. Our original plan was to stay at the Epic Hotel while in Miami but that was not the case. After arriving in Miami and at the hotel we were notified that the Epic would not abide by an agreement made by their employee. Sohotel hunting we went and we landed at the Hyatt. The front desk representative Jennifer was ... Read more

The food here was amazing. The key lime pie is a must have, followed very closely by 'the bomb.' Best room service I've ever had, I truly couldn't fault the food. Staff were very friendly. Basic room, nice but nothing spectacular. The hotel isn't in the best location in terms of restaurants/sight seeing but the pool made up for it with the complementary lime water, sunscreen and squirrels dancing around the trees

The staff at the Hyatt regency in Miami went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The barista Christina at the river walk cafe is phenomenal, very personable and charismatic. Starting the early mornings with her bright energy gave me energy! The entire staff was accommodating. Nothing but good things to say about this place !

Sometimes getting away locally is just what we need and when you live locally, you know the best places - great room, great service and amazing food and drinks - check out Riverwalk Cafe and Pure Verde bar - the food, drinks and service will not disappoint and the metro over can be reached from the property for sightseeing!

first room i was given reeked strongly of cigarettes (although this is supposedly a non-smoking hotel). to be fair, the staff was happy to move me & the staff is very kind and friendly and helpful. they are well-trained & provide real customer service, a rarity. after i moved, the next room was much better. 4 stars is kind of a stretch for the room (i'd say 3), but it was clean & spacious & comfortable. bathroom layout is a bit odd & cramped, but not a big deal. i would stay again. hotel is well... Good staff, and great food overall but they have a problem of communicating with guests regarding problems. They nicely were upgrading the TV's during our stay but did not give advance warning. Imagine returning to your room in a rush to leave to airport or go to a meeting and your room is being used by staff putting in TV's without warning. When there was an unexpected shut down of the pool, one had to go to the pool to find out. When we asked the front desk when it would open, we were first... Read more

Maybe this hotel was once a Hyatt Regency, but sadly it seems to be no more. While the lobby is nice the rooms are a different story. Though large, they are outdated and look as if they haven't been touched since the days of Miami Vice except for the electronics. Hair in the sink, pink mold like substance growing next to the toilet, mold behind the grab rail in the tub, frayed curtain valance, rusty bathroom lighting with burned out bulb, pitted enamel bathtub, no bathroom vanity, housekeeping ... A friend and I stayed at this hotel when we went Miami to shop and we had no problems whatsoever. The concierge was very helpful. The employees at the front desk were very courteous. Our rooms were clean. The shuttle to Dolphin mall was always on time. We were able to walk and explore downtown a bit. It was a pleasant experience. We had absolutely no problems with this hotel and we would stay here again.

We cut our 5 day reservation down to 2 because the Regency Club was closed (& that's why we selected this hotel). (Used our remaining 3 nights exploring the Keys & finishing up our Miami stay at the Hyatt Place Airport East property. I messaged the hotel staff & they very promptly and very nicely did make an adjustment on the price I paid since I paid extra for a suite & Regency Club access. The suite turned out to be just an oversized room - not worth extra $ in my eyes. Room was clean and f... Read more

I don't typically write reviews, but I think the Hyatt in Miami is exceptional. What makes it so? The rooms, ambience, food are all good, but it is the people that are so different than any other hotel experience. From the moment you walk in, people are incredibly nice and welcoming. And to top that, I need to single out Curtis Yap. He reached out to find out if I had any preferences and sure enough when I got to my room, he had taken each preference and made it a reality. I can't thank hi... Read more

Here on business. Elevators filthy, rooms horribly outdated and musty. But worst of all, multiple guests, including me, couldn't get their keys to work, requiring 15 minute waits for security to open the door every time you try to get into your room. Front desk offered nothing in return. Not expected for the Hyatt Regency brand.

Excellent stay, warm staff and excellent breakfast at a great price and location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only downside was the loss of internet on the last day, which was not a fault of the hotel but their internet provider.

Our upgrade for $25 was for a room with a panoramic view. All we got was a view of 2 buildings across the street and a peekaboo view of the water at the end of the street that ran between the 2 buildings. The front desk clerk offered us a room with a city view or a room on the floor above one which was being renovated (noisy). She then offered us a refund of the $25 if we stayed in the room, which we accepted. The sink didn't drain well and the toilet seat was loose. On a positive note... Read more

Wonderful lobby, fresh and inviting. Great comfortable conference rooms. Hotel rooms are large and roomy. There was an Oder of mold and mildew in both of the rooms I stayed in. That was the only problem and the front desk supervisor was very accepting and understanding of my concern. They placed me in a room with a portable air purifier. Very good solution.

Keep copies of EVERYTHING you get as confirmation when you have to dispute a payment with the front desk. Besides that, beautiful location and scenery. Also, great location for food and entertainment.

I brought a group of students to Miami to tour FIU - Academy of Hospitality and Tourism. We were granted the opportunity for a tour and learn about the ins/outs of the hotel. The staff was very respectable and open to sharing information to my students. Housekeeping and catering was extremely professional. My food was delivered in a timely manner and my room was always kept clean. My only complaint is that the hotel is a little outdated but it still has the Miami flair! Will stay again!
