The rooms at Hotel Victor - South Beach include white spa bedding and windows with tropical views. Flat-panel televisions have DVD players and pay movies, MP3-player docking stations and rooms also contain laptop-compatible safes, free bottled water, and windows that open. Please Note: Hotel Victor will be going through renovations starting May 13, 2013 with construction limited to to the top two floors of the building. "Great hotel at a great location. With attention to detail, Hotel Victor could become a 4.5-5 star hotel, but some work on is required which I hope would be taken care of with their planned renovation.
In particular, the staff at this hotel is truly 5 star. The front desk and restaurant staff were simply great, but the ones that took it all to another level were the doormen. Not only did they open the door on virtually every occasion that we entered the Hotel in our 6 day stay with gusto and class, but in most instances they did it in such a way that in addition to making you feel welcome, it made you feel presidential. I have stayed at hotels where doormen do their jobsbut in this instance you felt these doormen were not just doing their jobs, they made you feel special, not with their words but with their actions.
The rimless pool is small but really beautiful and the Haman/Steamroom combined with the warmth of the staff in this area is also absolutely worthy of your stay at the hotel.
Great job Hotel Victor, we will do our best to return soon when next we visit SOBE."

"Have been to the hotel a few years ago when owned by Hyatt and was very pleased. This last trip there from 11/29-12/2 I was not happy at all. When I walked into my room the room appeared clean at first sight been after dropping my bags I realized the couch was stained and the curtains had red spotted stains that looked like blood which was completely unacceptable. Light switch dimmer was not working when walking in room and Bellman is the one that found it and said it would be fixed, and was never fixed. I'm not one to complain and was going to overlook these things since the staff was very friendly and the location is a prime location. But the staw that broke my back was picking up my car from valet who I tipped very generously the 2 times I dropped it off and picked it up, but on the final pick up when leaving I noticed the front fiberglass on my Corvette was cracked and I told the valet guy about this each time that the car was low and the completely dissreguarded me about going slow on inclines and dips. Not to mention I had my car cleaned after picking it up the first time because it was filthy from where they parked it and the next day I picked it up again and it was completely dirty with scratches from people draggin there hands over it. Very upsetting for a hotel that should be top notch and was one at one time."

"We go to South Beach every year in October for several years now. We have tried different hotels each year until we found the Victor.Needless to say it is our choice of hotels out of the many located on the strip.
Staff - Extremely friendly and courteous. Only negative was the wait staff kept forgetting to bring us a pen to sign our dinning bill each night. Not a huge negative but still a slight inconvenience.
Room - Clean, neat and tidy. There could be some better lighting in the bath area. I did have a hard time seeing in the mirror while trying to shave. I ended up not shaving until the next day when the daylight was shining in the room. I did ask the front desk for some better lighting and within 20 minutes, a standing lamp was delivered to my room.
Accessibility - The Victor is located in the heart of Ocean drive, making it the ideal place to stay. Everything is within walking distance. This makes life real easy when you have to walk back to your room after having one to many :)

The Hotel Valet could use more efficiency with the hotel valet service as there was an occasion during our departure that took the valet approximately 30 minutes to retrieve our vehicle during an apparent non-peak time. Overall the valet is a minor complaint and not a deal breaker...
Pics of the property via the Hotel website stand out and provide a sense of newness. Although not bad, we were somewhat caught off guard at what appeared was a property in need of renovation. "The Hotel Victor was OK. It is far from a luxury resort but at the same time it is also far from some cheap motel. Basically you need to make the best of it and learn how to work around the negatives (expensive drinks, poor attitudes and small space with ZERO accommodations). DO NOT EAT or DRINK at the hotel. The bill will easily be over $100 for a few items."

"The hotel is in a great location that can't be beat for all the action. You step out the door at 7pm and you can feel the energy. The steam room and fitness center are clean and worth the trip. Especially since you're paying for it. The restaurant staff needs improvement. I sat down for breakfast at 10am by myself without going through the host and was treated like I wasn't there. I waited for 10 minutes before I got service, granted I am from Boston and am used to snobby people. Overall, I would recommend this hotel."

"We arrived at 2:30. One of our rooms was ready, but our second room was not available until after their promised time of 4PM. Their was no toilet paper in the bathroom when we got to the room. My Husband called downstairs and they said to check the closet by the safe. Wouldn't that be the room attendants job, to make sure the toilet paper was full? The room could have been very clean cut it was so. I couldn't see putting my makeup on or anything else.. We couldn't open the curtains in our 'Deluxe Room' with an ocean view. The rooms are in a U shape and all the balconies had a perfect view into my corner room. We ordered Mojitos at the pool bar. I was shocked first at how long it took the bartender to make them and then at the price, $23 per drink. I don't mind paying a little extra for the convenience, but I don't want to feel like I am being taken advantage of. There are to many places with to many amenities and fantastic service to stay at Hotel Victor again."

"I can't say anything negative about the hotel. I've stayed in 5 star hotels around the world and this one is particularly top with service. They bend over backwards to accommodate you. It's the perfect location and surprisingly very quiet. And the live music is something you won't find anywhere in Miami Beach except a concert hall. I used to live in Miami Beach and moved away just last year, so I know what I'm talking about. The hotel is nothing like its neighbors. It's in a class of it's own. I prefer boutique hotels to resorts so this was the perfect choice for me."

The staff was very friendly, helpful, and eager to please.The room was extremely clean.The only suggestion I would make is to replace the furniture in the lobby and bedrooms as it is very dirty and spotted up. "Concierge, the valets and bell men were outstanding. Room was ok, colors a little harsh. Room was more form than function. Shower had slow drain; had to wait 20 minutes before taking the next shower. poor lighting throughout, especially over the sink, toilet paper holder was bent - rolls kept falling off. restaurant a little slow serving breakfast - especially when you tell them you're in a hurry."

"When we arrived, the manager on duty immediately stated that another guest extended their stay in our room and that we would have to be relocated! He pretty much pushed us hastily back out the door. Strike one! We paid in advance for the night, not the guest who decided to extend their stay. I feel that they should have been relocated or at least the manager should have called us. No phone call, email...nothing.... Next, Cody was very 'assuming' about our party and spoke in a very condescending manner. Strike two! Afterwards, Victor relocated us to the BreakWater hotel. Although they (the employees at Breakwater) were extremely kind, we had no idea where we were staying. I had read nothing on this hotel. Had no information. The next day, we called Victor and they told us our room was not ready! So disappointing. Finally, we checked into an upgraded room (for our inconvenience). The decor was actually very nice. So were the maids, bell boys (only the ones who carried our luggage), and pool attendants/bartender. Last, too bad the managers were not as kind as their employees. If they were half as kind and genuine with their apology, we may have referred their hotel. They treated us as if this experience was no big deal. Well, it was. I have never experienced this with my usual hotel. I always choose the Marriott (directly, not a third party) and now I know why. "

"This is the right place to stay if you want to walk along the street that faces the beach. The streets are noisy but the hotel seems to keep the noise out of your room. Young visitors might call the streets a party place; the middle aged would call the streets decadent; retired visitors might think of the traffic degenerate. But this is Miami Beach, so be prepared. There is plenty of transportation to get you around the area. Must sees are Coconut Grove, where it is said that Le Bron James has his home. These areas are quieter and much greener. One thing you should know and that is: an 18 % gratuity will be add to all bills plus a resort fee if you are in a hotel of like $22 per day. The weather in May is hot and humid but not as bad as July. I wanted to know what the beach was like and I learned--now it's time to move onto other places in warm climates"

"I was very disappointed. I know friends who frequent this Hotel. I usually stay at Delano. They need to get rid of the love seats. My third room had the worst love seat. The third room was a King Suite. They need to clean the furniture...its awful. The staff at the front desk were fantastic guys. If I didn't have have issues with the furniture I would tell friends...but I do."

"I have never had such a terrible hotel experience. After flying all day, upon arrival to the hotel on 4/9/2012 at 3:20pm, they said my room was not ready. The front desk took my number and said they would call me when the room was ready. I went to dinner. Finally at 5:20pm I called the hotel to see what was going on. They told me my room was still not ready, but they would hurry. Check in began at 4:00pm my room was not ready until after 5:30pm. When I finally got to my room, it was not tidy. The toilet paper was off of the holder and rolled across the floor. I was ready to rest, so I let all of those things go. The next morning 4/10/2012, I called to the front dest to have them call my car up. They said yes, and they had charges for me to sign for. I got down to the front desk and they laid a bill down, and it had someone elses name and charges on it. I brought this to their attention and they printed mine off and I signed it. I left the hoter and went to my business meeting. During my meeting I got a phone call from the front desk staff. The gentleman said, I was wondering why you checked out of the hotel and left your bags in the room. I was very disturbed by this call because I had reservations until Friday 4/13/2021 and had paid in advance. He said he was sorry. When I returned from my meeting, I asked to speak with the manager. There were two other couples in the lobby waiting to speak with him abou their problems. Terrible."

"Would we return or recommend to a friend? Yes and No. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are good, the staff is exceptional. But there are three problems: (1) the lighting is below unacceptable; if you are a reader, forget it. For older guests parts of the hotel (e.g. the lobby) are so dark as to be dangerous. (2) The noise from the restaurant and the street is much too loud and continues well past midnight. For a high-priced hotel, such noise was also not acceptable. (3) The food was ok but given the prices, not what it should be. When the hotel is renovated in the near future, we trust the first two problems will be addressed. "

"Our experience was unforgettable. The lobby and rooms were beautiful. The mood was sexy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Upon finding out it was our 25th anniversary the front desk upgraded our room to a poolside, ocean view suite-the penthouse suites were taken. The poolside bar made a great martini. The gym and spa were excellent. Nicest hotel experience we ever had. It was a quiet oasis in the craziness that is Ocean Drive. A great couples place, not for the 'spring break or singles crowd. WE LOVED IT! We are already planning a return to South Beach just to stay here again."

"The Victor overall was great! Great location on SB, great restaurant in lobby. The hotel staff was very friendly. The exercise room was nice and the spa looked inviting. The only issue that we had was house keeping. One night they took all our bath towels without replacing them-the call in the morning for more was ignored. The water and mini bar wasnt restocked daily. We had a few ants in the room and they bombed the room with bug spray! The key card lock on the door decided to stop working on the day of check out- we had to wait 45 minutes for maintenance to try to get us into the room to get our bags. At 12:20, the front desk called to see if we needed help with our bags since it was after the noon check out. We had to remind them we just got into the room and had been to the front desk 3 times because the door lock wasn't working. The trip started well but ended badly. I would try the Victor again because the location was so good. I hope the Thompson change is beneficial in the future."

"My first time in South Beach proved to be a great vacation. The look, the food and the staff were excellent. The staff were young in most cases. The best of the staff had been there the longest. Very classy gentlman who loved his job. He was available to help us at any time. Go you will love it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful view, beach and pool. We traveled last January and hope to be back to thos location again."

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for my birthday, and I must say it was very delightful. I loved the ambiance of the hotel's lobby, the decor was amazing, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We both agreed that this is a place we will frequent in the future. The ONLY thing I didn't like about the hotel was the lighting in the bathroom. It is very dim and it is not conducive for a woman putting on make-up. But I made it work. Other than that, this hotel is awesome. Views are beautiful and it is right on Ocean Drive near a plethora of restaurants and clubs."

"The hotel was located beautifully. BUT everything was added on and extra: a resort fee, parking, etc. The room was NOT an 'ocean view'--to get that you had to specify 'FULL' ocean view. The bed was NOT 'king' altho that is what the listing said. They did move us. And the staff was wonderful and responsive. Also very noisey until all hours"

"Hotel Victor was just lovely. Everything from the Front Desk staff to the Bellmen was top notch.
Pro's:
Location: Easy walk to Lincoln Road, shops on Collins, and even South Point Park if you are ambitious
Guests: The other guests all seemed pleasant, easy going, and well heeled. Not a party hotel - which is great for some peace amongst the chaos that can ensue at the Beach, especially on Ocean Dr.
Rooms: Not huge but a good layout makes it feel spacious.
Service: Desk staff and Bellmen were all more than eager to assist,
Con's:
Valet: $36 a day and an average of 20-30 minutes to 'bring the car around'. It's SoBe, I know, but this was borderline abusive for the level of service. 3 times the mirrors seats and other instruments were all moved - that;s a big no-no for Valet and it kept happening after request to stop. If you can avoid, this Valet at all costs!!
Resort Fee: As it was a chilly and wet weekend in SoBe, it would have been a nice gesture to cut or eliminate the $22 resort fee, as we could not feasibly use the amenities that these covered (Beach chairs, pool, etc.). No movement from Front Desk Staff on this issue was definitely disappointing.

"The overall appearance of the hotal is extremely dark, especially in the check in area and restaurant. It should be a little brighter. I like to see what I am eating in a restaurant.
In the room. the dust ruffle on the bed was extremely dirty and the vents needed to be cleaned, but other than that the hotel is simply gorgeous, decor superb. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but if you're on vacation, who really cares.
The entertainment is fantastic and is the quite close to the beach and the excitement of South Beach. We had a GREAT TIME. Would definately return to the Victor Hotel next time."

"Great location, this hotel is transitioning to Thompson hotel so I would expect a makeover. I have stayed in sobe 6 times and at 4 different hotels. Great pool area. Rooms are WORN out....lost its cool factor about 4 yrs ago..Bathroom is silly. Bed was comfy, staff had to be reminded of things multiple times.
Resort fee changed a week prior to our arrival...these places are constantly changing the rules depending on who answers the phone...free wifi, nope, free in room water, nope that was last week. How do things just change that fast?
Pro: hotel was very quiet...I think this place used to be the in -place but has lost its party factor hence the quieter deal seeking crowd. Staff was oblivious...its almost funny."
