"We stayed from April 18-23 2012. Great stay. Front desk staff were awesome. Very friendly and helpful with the spots to hang out, dance and drink. Only issue the shower didnt drain well so you had to limit the shower time so you didnt flood the bathroom otherwise it was great. Room was cleaned everyday,Awesome location, street away from the beach about 10 min drive from the arena where the Heat play and not far from the clubs. Comfy beds and the bartender was great but we did think 13.50 for a jack and coke was a bit much :-)."

"The only positive thing I have to say about this hotel is that the location is great. However, I had an awful stay in this hotel! The check-in time is 3 pm and while that is not abnormal they do not offer a place to secure your bags so that you can go to the beach, etc. while you wait for your room. You're definitely taking a leap of faith that no one will be messing with your things while you're away. They had the room ready for me and my roommate after 4pm and then they came and kicked us out of our room at 7pm after we had finished unpacking. The front desk said that it was due to a cock roach problem and that they needed to move us to a smaller room with one bed, instead of the 2 bed room that I had already paid in full for. They actually came to our room while my roommate was in her towel and gave us 5 minutes to pack up our stuff and move down the hall. Later that evening I realized that in the rush to get out of the room, so that someone could come to 'spray', that I had left my phone charger. I immediately went to the front desk and explained that although the room was being sprayed that I would need to get in to get my charger. It was then that I was informed that I would not be allowed to go in the room because there were 2 new girls that had been roomed there. They lied about the roaches, made double the money on the room, and had completely inconvenienced and lied to me after they already had my money. When I discussed this with the front desk and called their bluff they said that I just had to deal with it basically because that's what happens sometimes when you stay in Miami at a great location.... They moved us to 2 more rooms in our 2 night stay there. There is absolutely no way that I would ever stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The sad part was the I didn't even feel like I could completely put them in their place or stop payment on my card because I didn't trust them not to mess with my things while I was still staying there. I had an overall terrible feeling about this place and the shady people that worked for the hotel that I had to mess with! Just a side note, they seemed to be much more respectful to the men that stayed in their hotel."

"The room was entirely too small, i booked a double bed and was given a single queen. there is no private parking and charge 34 dollars a night for valet, and are not held liable for any damages made to your vehicle while its parked anywhere on the strip. there is no elevator, room service, or pool. the concierge desk was nice and tried to help with getting us a refund, however being Easter weekend and Gay Pride weekend, no manager on duty was available at the time. This hotel is really only for couples looking to pass through, and plan on only using this place to sleep, after partying."

This is a great place to stay; it's centrally located to all the great shops and all the great clubs. For those of you that are coming to Miami to party and that should be everyone, stay at the Hotel Shelly you can drink as much as you want and walk home. Party Like A Rock Star!!!!!"
